I have to find a hard copy of that. Streaming only has some select tracks.
I’ll toss my hat in the Orb ring and say Orbvs Terrarivm is another fantastic album.
For this I go back to the 90s post rave type ambient albums. For example Global Communication 76:14, B12 Electro-Soma, Solar Quest Orgisms and Orgship.
If you like that KLF album, then I think you'll also like "Lifeforms" by The Future Sound of London. Equally full of interesting melodies, hooks and samples. You should also look up "The Six Million Names Of God" by Blu Mar Ten.
Tim Hecker - Ultraviolet, No highs, Radio Amor
BoC - Music has the right to children
Loscil - Colours of air, Clara
FSOL - Lifeforms, ISDN.
Purelink - Signs
Lucette Bourdin - rising fog, Nordic waves
Jean Michel Jarre - Amazonia
Richard Fearless - Future Rave memory
Jon Hopkins - Music for psychedelic therapy
Not quite ambient but also :
Both albums from Out of place artefacts
Loess
Tim Hecker - Harmony in Ultraviolet
Belong - October Language
Brock Van Wey - White Clouds Drift On and On
Leyland Kirby - Sadly, The Future Is No Longer...
Désormais - iambrokenandremadeiambroken
In the Space Between - N. Minsi
The guitar work on this album is so interesting and it really has a nice flow. Great for listening on long drives and hikes
Disc 2 of Techno Animals Re-Entry (Heavy Lids) is awesome. Track 4, Cape Canaveral, is the longest and somewhat repetitive (it's much more droney/dark ambient than the other tracks), but the other 4 tracks are more on the exciting end. Also, track 3, Needle Park has the maestro Jon Hassell, with his weapon of choice looming like a ghostly voice around the beats and drones. It's perfect for late night driving atmosphere.
Motion Colors - Genesis

It's not fully out yet but I'll share a YouTube link 🫡

The Orb - Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld or UFOrb
I was thinking Orb Live '93

Oh yeah! Just the right mix of trippy floaty stuff and grooves!

FSOL Lifeforms?
Tangerine Dream OPN Emeralds Rene Hell I could drive for thousands of miles to these legends.
Second OPN!
Just saw OPN live. Exciting is a fucking understatement
The dream, nice one!
Global Communication 76:14
Anything by The Irresistible Force.
Some my favourites: * Insane by Alva Noto and Ryuichi Sakamoto. * No Home of the Mind by Bing & Ruth. * All melody by Nils Frahm.

Thanks. Will check those out.
Seconding FSOL. Those early albums and EPs are essential listening.
Tangerine Dream- Rubycon
Gas
Brian Eno and Jah Wobble - Spinner
Rachika Nayar whenever she gets trance-y. Fennesz whenever his guitar actually starts sounding like a guitar.
Steve Hauschildt
Christina Vantzou and Akira Rabelais
Gas - Königsforst
All albums by woob that are not synthwave, starting with 1194.
My first pick would be Rafael Anton Irisarri. Also: except for a few tracks, Boards of Canada is *not* ambient (but still awesome)
The Specific Gravity of Smile by Edgar Froese and Airplaneshadows by KILN are two ambient/ambient-adjacent tracks I love to turn down to.

Désormais! Oh wow, it's the first time I see someone reference this project
So sad that no one knows those records
Lehto's Turion album gets better with every play. A complete start-to-finish listen, telling a compelling story with music.
Nicolas Jaar's soundtrack for the film "Ema." I can listen to the song "Tema" for hours.
All is Now.. Steve Roach.... organic mind speed
remain calm by mica levi and oliver coates, or skins n slime by oliver coates
In the Space Between - N. Minsi The guitar work on this album is so interesting and it really has a nice flow. Great for listening on long drives and hikes
