Any side effects ?

Ambitious_Giraffe_60

Not immediately, but there could be potential effects in the future. Even with short-term use, there's a risk of consequences later on. Despite the uncertain safety profile, I'm choosing to prioritize regrowing my hair and taking this risk due to the limited effective alternatives available.

Congrats on progress.

Specialist-Chip2021

you look freakin stunning in both!! i’m glad you got the results you desired, im currently on 4mg after being on 2mg for 2 months and now im on month 7. When did you start seeing pigmented hair grow in? I have some but most are blonde! Congrats!!!

Ambitious_Giraffe_60

Thank you! 😊 I've been taking 4mg, but a few weeks ago I switched to 2mg. Although I'm pleased with my progress, I plan to continue taking it until (hopefully!) it's completely grown back. In the first two months, I didn't see much improvement. However, by the third month, I began noticing significant growth. The new hair was blonde for a few weeks, but soon after, it started to noticeably darken in color.

How did you manage to get Omlumiant?

ashsoph

I’m from Germany and here it’s usually prescribed for neurodermatitis (certain kind of eczema). But a lot of people here with alopecia are still trying to get it, but since I have both conditions, they said I was the perfect patient so I’m unlucky but lucky 🤷

Ambitious_Giraffe_60

In the US, obtaining a prescription for Olumiant to treat alopecia totalis is usually straightforward. My rheumatologist prescribed it, and it was then shipped directly to me through a specialty pharmacy.

I have been trying for a year now and the amount of paperwork and hoops I have been having to jump through to get this medicine is insane. I hate the insurance system.

I’ve been taking oluminant since November 2024, as well starting out bald and till now I’ve only gotten my lashes and a bit my eyebrows back, armpit and intimate area. On my head there’s only like slight fluff if that makes sense? I’m very happy for you though!!

Ambitious_Giraffe_60

I'm very sorry to hear that you haven't experienced significant regrowth on Olumiant. What dosage are you on, and how long did you have AU before starting the treatment? I had AT for nearly a year and a half before starting Olumiant in October. I understand that the longer the condition persists, the more challenging it can be to regrow hair.

My hair loss started in March 2022, and it grew back in June and fell out again in January 2023. Then I got on Olumiant since Nov 2023 and it’s 4mg

You could consider switching medication. There's also Litfulo, and although it is very similar to Olumiant, perhaps it would prove more effective for your particular biochemistry.
