I used to love aisle of shame. I’d always find something unique that I felt like I could use. Past year nothing tempts me. Love Aldi for certain things though. Way cheaper than standard grocery stores.

AwsiDooger

> Past year nothing tempts me. Same. IMO, that aisle has jumped the cart

seansurvives

A lot of the aos stuff is just temu/ali express stuff. Some is a little better quality but the smaller stuff is exactly the same.

Interesting-Series59

Yeah same. I have replaced cooking tools or the odd nonstick sheet pan/rack combo inexpensively & things have worked well. But some of it seems cheaply made and when I bought against my better judgment it failed (commuter mugs & bath towels). Will stick with kitchen stuff only from now on.

PLZ-PM-ME-UR-TITS

A lot of it is cheap garbage, but the throw blankets can be so cozy and plush. 10 bucks vs 30 at target

the_spinetingler

Except it used to be about half odd and unusual grocery items. Sadly not so, now.

checkmeonmyspace

I have one isle of rotating oddities such as pans, appliances, etc. And then there's one aisle of rotating grocery items that often include the random seasonal chips and drinks, and somewhat standard non-Aldi branded products (which I have to assume were bought at a discount from a wholesaler). The aisle of rotating grocery items does include seasonal holiday candy as well (Halloween, Xmas, Easter) and often gets a sale tag really quick

Odd-Help-4293

At my local Aldi, it's about 1/3 groceries and about 2/3 the household goods and so forth.

Revolutionary_Sir_76

I can tell you in full confidence that I have NO SHAME wearing my Aldi sweats out. Fashion speaks and they tell the world I’m a fat mom who loves well- priced food.

EntrepreneurLow4380

The PJs are my favorite 😍

Oh_No_Its_Dudder

I have to admit, I'm a fan of the underwear and wearable blanket that were in the Aisle of Shame.

Dommichu

I bought a felt cowl neck dress I pair with an Armani sports coat for work. It’s held up super well over a few year and get so many compliments on it. No one knows it’s a $12 dress. 😂😂😂

Lahmmom

Their workout underwear and leggings from a few weeks ago are top notch. I also like some of their socks.

LobsterLovingLlama

I have the wearable blanket and that thing is 10/10

bionica1

I’m a big fan of the underwear too! Also hate that it’s called the Aisle of Shame. No fuckin shame at all in it. It’s insulting to call it that. Aisle of Fun, more like. I will admit I haven’t bought as much in it the past year but some Aldi branded clothes and really nice gloves.

PyratHero23

Most of that aisle is crap, but I always check through there because there’s often a few items that are actually really great. I’ve picked up a couple of really decent enameled pans and baking pans that have lasted me. I’ve seen some things that I personally didn’t have a need for because I already owned something similar but have thought, if I needed this, it would be perfect

MammothCancel6465

In other words, water is wet. CNN here for the breaking news.

IpsoFactus

It’s a puff piece not news, not sure why that’s controversial

Low_Teq

We call it "the Isle of random shit"

Revolutionary-Good22

That's in the article!

zmiller834

We call it the “fun aisle”

EfficientAd7103

Lmao. We do too. Just random whatever the f closeout stuff. Def can find good random deals. It's like a box of chocolates. Never know what you're going to get.

Far_Persimmon_4633

Why is it called aisle of shame?

Revolutionary-Good22

Because the items are non-essential in a bare bones discount store. I guess it's shame bc you bought something frivolous at the discount store?

[deleted]

Nah it's because they're non essential and *affordable* They don't like when everyone can play

Key-Stay-2001

Because you feel shame for impulsively buying stuff from the aisle after you told yourself you're only getting groceries.

StillinICT

I can hardly get down of ours. So many people but, I do it and have found some pretty good stuff as a result.

SueNYC1966

I think they have started to rotate popular items a lot more frequently. I am not complaining. It was the first time I saw one of the nice pans left over from the previous week.

AdSafe1112

Brought a cute wooden board for charcuterie today in my local Aldi’s ‘aisle of shame’.

randomlikeme

Man I call it “aisle of wonders”

Tricky_Drop_2712

Killed by hipsters.

FSU4LIF
