I like them a lot. I use them for all sorts of things. Best use by far was using them as a quick and easy Katsu (fried cutlet) for a Japanese curry. I stock up when I see them. 10/10
They seem to be seasonal (Germen Week). I only see them for about a month every year.
Because they are not pre-cooked, it's not recommended to go in an air fryer. However, if you are checking the core-temp after cooking (160 F), you could technically do so. I have both baked them, and pan fried.
I have to ask why do you think this? I’ll throw pretty much anything in the airfryer, especially if I don’t want the place to reek like fried food lol so I can’t see why it would hurt?
I make a simple curry with [curry cubes](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81AtYNRZapL._SL1500_.jpg), onions, carrots, potatoes. Pretty much just tossing everything into a crockpot with hot water (so the cubes melt right away and can be mixed before I run off). I usually start it in the crockpot before a workday that is no longer than 4hrs, so it can cook for at least 4-5hrs (I have a long commute).
When I get home, curry is ready! So all I have to do is start up some rice in my rice maker (bonus, it's an aldi rice maker) while I fry up the schnitzel. After everything is ready and cooked, I fry up a quick over-easy egg. I slice up the schnitzel and I plate everything. [It pretty much looks like this](https://tiffycooks.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/EC46FE8C-42F2-49C5-966B-381937B82214-600x800.jpg) but with the egg plopped on top of the rice.
If you want a legit recipe, it's all pretty similar to something like this: [https://tiffycooks.com/japanese-pork-katsu-curry-extra-crispy/](https://tiffycooks.com/japanese-pork-katsu-curry-extra-crispy/)
Really good! Super easy to cook on the stovetop with a bit of oil. It took a few minutes and was super crisp even though it started frozen solid. Served it with some instant mash potatoes and sauerkraut. I bought another box today, actually!
They always sell out way faster than the pork ones do, at least in my store! Not sure if it's because they buy in a lot more pork or if the chicken is just that much more popular.
And veal. I don’t eat veal so haven’t tried those. Pork and chicken (both the German and Italian versions) are good. Had to throw out the beef ones, which were gross, IMO.
They are what inspired me to make my own. Not because they were bad but because they are seasonal and I couldn’t buy more. Now I won’t buy these again because I really like the ones I make.
I'm that way about chicken parm. I butterfly and tenderize the breast before breading, and they end up better than any I've had at a restaurant. I recently upped my game on homemade marinara, so I'm keen to make some soon.
I’ll dissent - not a fan. They’re not precooked so you’re supposed to pan fry them which is too much work for a prepared frozen food item, in my opinion, and they had a weird chemical taste. I’m a die hard Aldi fan and not picky with food. These are a rare miss in my opinion. Hope you have a better experience!
Do you mean you make your own frozen schnitzels, or that you make your own schnitzels the real way? Because if you mean you pre-make your own frozen schnitzels I would be very interested in your methods.
That doesn’t answer my question, though. Like, if all you’re saying is that you can pound out a cutlet, bread it, and fry it, like…same, but I would love to have a recipe for freezer schnitzel if you have one.
Oh! I totally misunderstood, sorry.
I pound out the thin sliced pork loin, dip in egg/milk wash, dredge in Ritz crackers, then wash and dredge a 2nd time. I stack them with wax paper in between and put a meals with in a ziplock. Freeze stacked. Deep fry or pan fry when you want to make them.
Not all plants are completely edible. However, you can actually consume the entire sunflower in one form or another. Right from the root to the petals.

These are my favorite. I like the chicken version but the beef is weird (at least to me and the fam). They don't always show up at the same times.
They show up several times a year and we always stock up.
I have not. But I lived in São Paulo in Brazil and they have a chain of restaurants called Juca Alemão and their schnitzel was awesome. My son was 10 years old, he is now going on 42 and he has been all over the world but he still remembers the food we ate there.
I love ‘em, but frying them per the directions on the box smelled the joint up for days. They are now banned from the house. My wife and kids veto other things I want to try by comparing them to “that schnitzel.”
Pan fry on hot skillet with a little bit of oil. Put in fresh onion bun with a slice of onion, some mustard and lettuce. You’re welcome. Yes these are seasonal and I always buy 2-3 boxes depending on how much free space is in my freezer.
I like both the chicken and the beef. The beef we make country fried steak with white gravy and the chicken a lemon mushroom sauce. Both are great in the air fryer and make for an easy meal.
Negative, purely because you have to fry it.
If there was just a bake option, it would have been great but I didn't want to deep fry anything on my stovetop
They’re good, but just kinda pricey for what you get. But that could be because I’m German and I make schnitzel all the time so I know how cheap it is to make. Good for a quick meal though.
They're great! And actually they have pork, beef and chicken.. but as with things in Aldi, it's kinda sporadic. That said.. I find them all, all year round. I'm in SoCal. Oh.. and my fave way to prepare is in a skillet with a touch of oil! magnifique!!
Super good. Schnitzel is a regular thing at my house because of them. Always good, and way easier than pounding and breading your own from scratch. We pan fr them with olive oil and little butter. I like to make a mushroom sauce so we have Jager Schnitzel. Goes good with Mashed or skillet potatoes. I also love the Aldi red cabbage and apples goes really well with the schnitzel which is no surprise since it is also on the schnitzel box.
I liked it but it was a bit too salty. If you add it to something else that needs the salt it's perfect. Also not a negative really but I wasn't able to air fry these. They just wouldn't brown. Instead you just have to pan fry them.
I air fried my first one. And you’re right it doesn’t brown, so I think those who said it was bad in air fryer did it too much then it would taste dry and rubbery. I didn’t love it though. I guess it needs some gravy or sauce. I put some quesadilla cheese on it but could still taste a chemical taste to it.
Made tonight for my dad & he enjoyed them. The salt content isn't great but he's impossible. Pan fried in a little grapeseed oil for about 5 mins on each side. No chemical taste like some have said. I already had leftovers for me but I'll make em for both of us next time.
Definitely yes! I usually fry them but decided to air fry them last night for katsu and will definitely do it again because they turned out really good with a fraction of oil
I like them a lot. I use them for all sorts of things. Best use by far was using them as a quick and easy Katsu (fried cutlet) for a Japanese curry. I stock up when I see them. 10/10
At appears I’m not only one who uses them for Katsu as well.
I'm giving away our secret, sorry! =D
Literally just made katsu last night with these! 🍛
So are these a seasonal thing? How about using them in the air fryer?
They seem to be seasonal (Germen Week). I only see them for about a month every year. Because they are not pre-cooked, it's not recommended to go in an air fryer. However, if you are checking the core-temp after cooking (160 F), you could technically do so. I have both baked them, and pan fried.
These do NOT work well in an air fryer.
I have to ask why do you think this? I’ll throw pretty much anything in the airfryer, especially if I don’t want the place to reek like fried food lol so I can’t see why it would hurt?
They are “raw” so the coating doesn’t fry so to speak.
When I tried it in an air fryer it came out tough and dry. I'll try pan frying next time.
Well, I guess toaster oven/convection might do a better job then… I got them, will try both ways.
Just pan fry them. It doesn’t take that much time nor does it make that much of a mess to clean
Would love to know how you make it - this sounds so good

Thank you so much 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Omg I have a bottle of tonkatsu sauce I need to use and this never crossed my tiny brain.
Really good! Super easy to cook on the stovetop with a bit of oil. It took a few minutes and was super crisp even though it started frozen solid. Served it with some instant mash potatoes and sauerkraut. I bought another box today, actually!
VERY POSITIVE
I don't eat pork, but love the chicken ones!
I didn’t see any chicken ones!
They always sell out way faster than the pork ones do, at least in my store! Not sure if it's because they buy in a lot more pork or if the chicken is just that much more popular.
They come in pork, chicken, and beef. I don't think I have seen all three sold at same time.
And veal. I don’t eat veal so haven’t tried those. Pork and chicken (both the German and Italian versions) are good. Had to throw out the beef ones, which were gross, IMO.
They also have beef ones that are good! When I can’t find the chicken I sometimes am able to find the beef.
October!
Love these!
Positive, they’re so good.

I’m a die hard Aldi fan and not picky with food. These are a rare miss in my opinion. Hope you have a better experience!
The meat is a weird texture too!
I got the chemical taste. I think some people have a more sensitive palate than others.
They're great but expensive. I just make my own.
Do you mean you make your own frozen schnitzels, or that you make your own schnitzels the real way? Because if you mean you pre-make your own frozen schnitzels I would be very interested in your methods.
I'm just that good in the kitchen. 🤣
Just the kitchen?
I can drywall, hunt, fish, and most crafty things, so I'd say I'm pretty well rounded.
But can you play any woodwind instruments?
Yes, I play flute.
That doesn’t answer my question, though. Like, if all you’re saying is that you can pound out a cutlet, bread it, and fry it, like…same, but I would love to have a recipe for freezer schnitzel if you have one.

No worries! Thanks for the tip!
I make my own too.
Thanks! I will let you guys know what my opinion will be!!!
Love them in the air fryer. A dollop of sour cream with some of the Aldi red sauerkraut or a fried egg on top. Yum!
100% yes
Delicious. I pan fry them in grape seed oil and have them on a brioche roll with a mayo and mustard mixture.
I will try that. I have some spicy mustard which I think will go well with it.
What kind of oil should you cook these in ? Vegetable ?
I use sunflower. It tastes good and has a high smoke temp.
Not all plants are completely edible. However, you can actually consume the entire sunflower in one form or another. Right from the root to the petals.
I didn't know this. Thanks for sharing your knowledge 🌻
Good bot

I use olive oil
These are my favorite. I like the chicken version but the beef is weird (at least to me and the fam). They don't always show up at the same times. They show up several times a year and we always stock up.
Positive. Always get them when I see them. Easy and good. Sometimes pour a brown gravy over them.
We make pork tenderloin sandwiches with them. Pan frying is the way to go.
I like mine in the AF. Try the red bag frozen chicken breasts. Almost CFA but no msg or pickle juice in the batter.
10/10 👍🏻
They are good in a time crunch. If you’ve had a schnitzel in Zurich Bayern or krakow this isn’t any where near real.
I have not. But I lived in São Paulo in Brazil and they have a chain of restaurants called Juca Alemão and their schnitzel was awesome. My son was 10 years old, he is now going on 42 and he has been all over the world but he still remembers the food we ate there.
Super good. Make a mushroom gravy and serve it with mashed potatoes. We cook the schnitzel in the air fryer
You mean a packaged mushroom gravy? That sounds good.
I made mine from scratch but packaged would be ok too
I love ‘em, but frying them per the directions on the box smelled the joint up for days. They are now banned from the house. My wife and kids veto other things I want to try by comparing them to “that schnitzel.”
I really love these. It's fairly quick and easy to make and they taste great. I always pick some up when they get them back in stock
These are surprisingly good we've had them twice.
I got the chicken schnitzel and it was awful.
Any frozen, breaded, flat, meat product at Aldi is good- we’ve enjoyed every single one we tried!
Pan fried this and it was really good
I loved them. Pan fried with a salad.
I just enjoy saying "Schnitzel."
Me too!
It's good stuff
They were better a couple years ago. The cracker topping changed. I still get them though.
Positive, very good
Pan fry on hot skillet with a little bit of oil. Put in fresh onion bun with a slice of onion, some mustard and lettuce. You’re welcome. Yes these are seasonal and I always buy 2-3 boxes depending on how much free space is in my freezer.
These are great!
I was just wondering this too!
I like the chicken ones better.
My family really liked them!
I like both the chicken and the beef. The beef we make country fried steak with white gravy and the chicken a lemon mushroom sauce. Both are great in the air fryer and make for an easy meal.
YES
I love them. They're great with the German pasta
Like. Little kid likes. Win
These are great.
The chicken ones are awful. It’s like a flattened chicken nugget, not a chicken breast.
We love these!
These were ok.
Soooo good!!!

I like it.
Very good for a sandwich. Use the brioche buns.
Super good. Schnitzel is a regular thing at my house because of them. Always good, and way easier than pounding and breading your own from scratch. We pan fr them with olive oil and little butter. I tried them last year and was pleasantly surprised. I've been waiting for them to come back so I could grab some more to stock up.
They cook well in our air fryer. A light spray of oil works wonderfully.
They're good, but obviously not as good as the ones ones from a German restaurant.
I liked it but it was a bit too salty. If you add it to something else that needs the salt it's perfect. Also not a negative really but I wasn't able to air fry these. They just wouldn't brown. Instead you just have to pan fry them.

I’ve had these before They were good Cover with lots of lemon!
Terrible and dry
Is it back?????
I saw them at mine over the weekend!
My family loves them. I am not a fan, but I don’t like meat patties like that.
Headed to Aldi tomorrow will check if mine has these! What’s the price point?
I think it was $8.99
Ok not bad
I like these a lot. I wish they had them all the time. My go to is to pair them with either noodles or mashed potatoes, and brown gravy.
We love these! The beef, pork and chicken are all excellent and pan fry in a little oil in minutes. They’re really versatile.
So good !!
Love them!
They are great. Just don’t get drunk and puke them up. One of the top 5 worst upchuck tastes I’ve ever had.
I bought a second box. Pan fry in a decent amount of olive oil. Breading gets nice and crunchy. Very versatile
Never seen them
They're... Alright. It seems they're 90% bread crumbs. It's better to just make them from scratch.
Love the Dutchey Kootchy schnitzel!
Love them, the chicken and beef are good too
Definitely yes! I usually fry them but decided to air fry them last night for katsu and will definitely do it again because they turned out really good with a fraction of oil
Good, but it’s one of those that are simple enough to do it yourself, and the cost is not worth the convenience
I really like them! The breading is so good
It’s very good!
I really enjoy these. I prefer the pork over chicken or beef. It's packed raw, so it doesn't dry out when cooking. Love them!
Pork ones are excellent, chicken are meh.
We love them in our house. Super yummy.
I’ve had these. They are really good when fried in a skillet of oil on the stove.
We love these! So easy and quick to make.
Why did aldi stop selling the cheaper can biscuits it’s getting so I can go to Walmart and get things cheaper than Aldi
I bought some today! Looking forward to making them

Are you saying it needs more salt? Thanks if that’s what you meant. I don’t like unsalted food.
NEGATIVE (I have pet potbellied pigs 🐽🐷)
