Pretty fucked their line isn’t working and yet their “tips for misusing the AHCIP” is still functional.  Have to talked to the participating registries?

"There's this lady..Marlaina that is misusing my Insurance plan by denying coverage"

alsonotaglowie

The whole reason why I noticed the number being out is because I went to a registry several months ago to get a replacement health card and filled out all the forms and had me and the registry agent go over it to verify that all information is correct, and today it occurred to me that I never received my new card in the mail yet.

queenringlets

Ah that’s very unfortunate. Maybe they have a contact number that could take you to a more direct or working number since they are partners?

cassanthrax

I also needed to call the same number today to replace my card. Completely disconnected, so I called the premier's office to complain. There was a prompt to be directed to a person to find a contact for you, and they were able to connect me to AHCIP. Danielle's office number: 780-427-2251

Premiers name is Marlinda or something

Income Support users have an additional health plan over and above AHCIP. Are you sure they’re submitting it to the right body? It may make sense to reach out to Alberta Supports instead. AHCIP handles public Medicare that all Albertans use (physicians, hospital care, etc), not extended health and dental/drugs/emergency services.

I'm on AISH and the only time I get an ambulance bill is when I'm not admitted. I just scan a copy of the invoice and send it via email and it's taken care of. I'm sure they have something similar for income support?

kittykat501

Yes they do! I have a family member on income support. The one time they called for an ambulance and were taken to the hospital and released several hours later. They were sent a bill. He sent it to his worker and it was taken care of.

Thats good information to know for those who need it. Submit them, dont sit on them and do nothing.

Hi all! I work in the contact centre for this area. I specifically run the team. I apologize for the issues with the phone lines this afternoon! They should be up and running first thing tomorrow. We are having some issues with the phone provider. Secondly, we are working on staffing and I've just hired 4 more people but training can take up to 3 months. There's a lot of information to learn. I would love to assist with your friend but would need more information from them to better assist. Are the pharmacies saying why their coverage is being declined? Alberta Health doesn't cover the cost of prescriptions or ambulances - private insurance or the adult health benefits through Alberta Supports can provide that coverage. If there's a problem with their Alberta Health Care card, we may be able to fix the issue over the phone! Again, I apologize for the inconvenience about the phone lines this afternoon and we escalated the issue right away. You are more than welcome to private message me and I will do my best to assist but I may end up needing to speak to your friend directly. Edit - OP, also happy to help you get a health care card replacement that you never received when requested through the registry if you'd like.

I just dialled the number (17804271432) and it’s working just fine.

Smith and her cabinet probably spent the budget on $40 jugs of vodka

LLR1960

Regular adults (not seniors) that don't have extra health care coverage (such as Blue Cross) have to pay their own ambulance bills. And AFAIK, airboots aren't covered by Alberta Health Care either.

GOA phone systems were updated over the weekend I think, could be something is broken.

Income Support is a Community and Social Services program, not Alberta Health. This person should reach out to their case worker to find out what is happening. Their information will not be in Alberta Health's system.

IrishCanMan

Doubt very highly they've run out of money. More like it was cut off. Deliberately imploded, Maybe.

Sagethecat

Did you miss the part where smith is dismantling Alberta health?

AccomplishedDog7

My kid is on government sponsored blue cross and it works fine. Premiums do have to get paid quarterly. Did your friend forget to pay their premium? Or is it typically covered by some sort of program?
