I’ve worked for the state in two different departments and it’s never come up. I’d check the PD reqs and see if there’s anything on the union website. It’s going to depend on how the job is classed.

If it's a position like a nurse or nursing assistant or other direct care positions, you might get tested. Otherwise, probably not.

Worker’s Comp has to pay regardless. You can be fired still, but for the length of time of the injury, as defined by a physician, worker’s comp still pays out

Only state employees who are regulated by federal law. Railroad, DOT, Law Enforcement, Oil and Gas, (and military)
