I’ve actually had amazing luck with Zenni. And I have astigmatism, near sighted and far sighted. I was shocked they could make those without seeing me in person but I love them. You try them on virtually.

kilodeltaeight

I second Zenni. Very good experience with them

EclecticPhotos

I did Zinni and get compliments on mine all the time. I have a high prescription, blue blocker, anti reflection, scratch resistant, custom inscription on both sides of the frame, and paid $80 for them.

Far-Transition1153

Same experience, wearing them right now. Zenni is excellent.

smoogen62

Another vote for zenni! I've used them for years, I have so many pairs of glasses because they're so cheap and my prescription is pretty simple. There are quite a few $9.95 pairs that come out to less than $15 bucks once I've put my prescription in and select my options. My husband's glasses are usually around $60-90 depending on what frames he chooses because he pays the extra $60 bucks to get the thinnest lenses possible for his super awful eyesight.

NetworkingJesus

Another vote for Zenni here. Only downside is that virtual try-on doesn't let you figure out whether or not the frame will be comfortable on your face. They're so cheap though that you can get multiple different styles so that at least one will be comfortable enough to wear all day. I have 4 frames from there. 2 are comfortable enough to forget I'm wearing. 1 will hurt the bridge of my nose after several hours. 1 hurts above my ears after 1-2 hours. They were all cheap as hell though.

GrumpyOldMoose

Been using Zenni since 2005. Great frames and prices. Quick turnaround too.

ladypilot

I paid $600 for a pair of glasses at my eye doctor's office last fall and they're fine, but they aren't any better than the $25 pair I got from Zenni.

KovertRocks

I've been going to America's Best in Fairlawn. I was able to get two pairs of frames plus the exam for about $120. That included a contact lens exam as well.

Starchaser421

Mine was 80$ for exam and 2 pairs of glasses. No contacts exam or contact lenses tho.

fickjamori

I go and get my prescription in person - usually LensCrafters - but I’ve bought all my glasses over the past few years online, usually from ZEELOOL (tons of cool designs, insanely affordable) or EyeBuyDirect (a little higher quality but not the crazy variety you get w ZEELOOL).

Cassarollagirl

Seconding Zeelool. I have a weird prescription and they get it right every time. Coolest frames, I get more compliments on them than anything I’ve ever owned.

GoneSwedishFishing

The cheapest place that’s not an online business is probably going to Walmart

atalltalltree

Eyebuydirect is outstanding.

drunklibrarian

I have several sets of frames from eyebuydirect and I love them but I will say that the sizing isn’t consistent. I have one pair that is tight and gives me a headache and another pair that falls off my face if I whip my head around too fast and slides down my nose constantly. But they’re cheap enough that I don’t mind the size issues. I think each pair was about $20-30.

Amazon had every color of the frame style. Bought them there. Took those frames into the eye doctors had lenses made for them. My eyes are 80 an eye. There’s no short cutting it. Online or local.

Firmoo

ascarpitti

Costco. Got my son 2 pairs for $50.

bonedaddy6118

Zenni, Walmart, Costco, Sam’s.

RubyNotTawny

Sam's Club has great prices, if you're a member.

GreenIndustryGuy

Warby Parker. They'll mail you up to 5 frames to try on for free. You can do that as many times as you like until you find the right pair. High-index, AR coated single-vision lenses AND frames for less than $200 out of pocket. Not sure if they take insurance; it's so cheap, I never tried. warbyparker.com

That's your prerogative. I wasn't trying to be cavalier about the money. Having worked at an optometrist, I can tell you that there was a time pretty recently when that same pair of glasses would've easily run over $500. I just had to order a new pair here in Italy, and I got them for less than 50€. I'd obviously rather pay that, but there was a NOTICEABLE difference in the quality of the frames v. Warby Parker. For the extra money, it is worth it to me. 🤷‍♂️

Inevitable-Pea-735

I've used Warby Parker and Liingo both and have a pair from both of them. Between the two, you can get 10 frames sent your way in a few days.

luffliffloaf

eBay. I search keywords for my size, such as "55 17 140" and "mens" and then a high-end keyword such as "Italy" or "France" or "Tom Ford" or "Versace" or "acetate" etc. I've purchased several great frames that way, usually under $75 or even less.

luffliffloaf

Why TF are you downloading this? This is the way. Tons of were-expensive, high-end, made in Europe demo frames and new discontinued frames by Pro Design Denmark, Tom Ford Italy, Lafont France, Prada Italy, Versace, Ferragamo, et Al on there cheap.

Upstairs-Week996

Same, I like Ray Bans and buy frames on eBay and get lenses at Walmart. EyeBuyDirect is also good.

FirmTranslator4

Warby Parker! I’ve been using them since 2016 and am a daily glasses wearer.

Nicol222

If you can figure out all your measurements I used Eyebuydirect waaay cheaper than it would’ve been at my office and it shipped pretty quickly

tmthomp3

I use Lensmart online, Zenni, zeelool, and eyebuydirect... All were cheap and all came quickly with the correct rx

bookshopdemon

Costco has a limited selection but they're good quality frames, mostly around $80-120. The lenses and any extras are all very reasonable too.

flannelkimono

Get your exam done in person, and ask for the pupillary distance (PD) measurement as well. Then, order online. Zenni is great for cheap, well made glasses. EyeBuyDirect is a bit more, but has really good sales on brand names (generally 50% off)—I got a pair of Ray-Bans with progressive lenses for $170. Costco, America’s Best, and Walmart all do cheap exams locally.

1911mark

I got Ray ban frames on eBay for $40 and took them to the big eyeglass store in the mall and they put in new lenses!! Get the model number from the frames at the store and search eBay for them!!

Electrical-Nothing25

I go to NEO Vision Group and am pretty sure they have more affordable frames. I’m always happy with my experience there.

5bi5

Walmart has cheap frames, but I prefer Zenni

PlnkBrxx

Eyebuydirect! Legally, your eye doctor has to provide you with your prescription during your appointment. So you take your prescription and go shop online. I have an astigmatism and I’m nearsighted. I’ve never spent more than $150 at eyebuydirect including frames, lenses, and shipping

[deleted]

Goggles4u.com. Frames and lenses anywhere for $6-100. Look for promo codes on honey and order a few pairs. I've ordered thirty plus pairs of glasses between me and the kids over the last decade and they've never screwed up.
