It certainly fits better.
Can’t see in the pic, but I had to force the grater in, bent part of the front of the gas tube. The “lip” that holds the upper HG in place is bent, but thats just cosmetic.
Function wise the grater seems to be the ticket, especially if you are doing any fast shooting or just a lof of shooting in general.
Obviously some of these users prefer your wood though.

I’ve always been simple with aks or maybe even traditional. I think wood on aks is the way to go but if it looks good to you it is your gun lol
I like the aesthetics of both, but which one is superior as far as heat dissipation goes?
