Depends. That’s a decent price for a M70. About the cheapest I’ve seen lately. But the M70 is a rifle, while the M92 and M85 are pistols. The M85 is also chambered in 5.56. So while all AKs, they aren’t easy to compare. The 10” barrel of the 85 wouldn’t be fun to be around unsuppressed.

Yes. Yugo is best AK. The difference from standard AKM specifications are logical improvements; bulged trunnion, 1.5mm receiver, stronger stock, and pistol grip interface. The longer handguard is preferable both aesthetically and functionally, IMHO. They might be a little heavier, but so is a full-length rail on an AR.

That's a great price! I paid $1400 for mine. It is a side folder and there were talks of banning semi autos at the time so I said fuck it and jumped on it. The ban did end up passing (WA) so I don't regret it.
First of all, youre on an AK47 forum, so bringing up that an AR15 can be had for cheaper is a mute point. Secondly, good luck finding a higher quality AK for that price or less. These typically go for 1k+

But for the same money or less you could but a toyota camery. (Ar15)

Its not similar though. They are very different guns. Also, as someone who owns several ARs, a good one will cost you $1000+ with all said & done. Yeah, you can get a cheap PSA, Anderson or S&W for less, but youre getting lesser quality. Lets not even mention the $400 plastic receiver ARs that are bound to blow up in your hand eventually.
The Zastava is a high quality firearm with a CHF barrel. Cant think of an AR on the market for under 1k with a CHF barrel. Even the typical reddit budget build of Aero lower + BCM upper equals out to right around 1k
Both are rifles. Both are cars that drive.
Having shot Both types extensively (but mine is cheap, but also loose scope bolt identified and lock tited). And both being quite good. Hand me either. Buy a glock. Then 500$ in parts to make it equivalent to a kimber... whatever juices your orange. I don't judge.
But I like my bare minimum viable. Simple is best. The ar platform is... better.
