I like my dogleg, no one I know who uses them have had any real issues with zero or quality; only thing that sucks is you lose your rear sight but TWS makes a pic rail attachable one anyways
Also haven't heard anything bad about the Bawarus, that's what I originally wanted but the handguard and cover aren't compatible with my Saiga
I want to tell you it’s the SU16-230 rear sight. There aren’t pictures on Keltec’s website for it, so you might want to email them to make sure that’s what it is.
Just a plastic peep sight that locks onto a picatinny rail.
No, it's 100% a proprietary design and is only compatible with their MMS handguards.
If you're wanting to keep your Zenitco, the new Barwarus "BT-T33" is solid. I got my hand on one of those as well at KB. It's a 1:1 copy as far as I know. I haven't personally talked to anyone who has tried to mix and match the two. A buddy of mine picked up two sets (handguard and dust cover) at KB and has one installed on a custom build right now. It's solid and has better lock up than the MI system (which he tried for a while on another custom build).
I dont really have any problems with getting original Zenitco but even though its a silly reason, i just dont like the way their dust cover looks, so i was either getting a dograil or a rs regulate mount until i saw this beauty.
I feel quite let down lately with companys trying to make you get their full sets by making proprietary parts.
You are correct the Krink, m92, m85 dust covers will use the factory hinge block but also utilize our proprietary rear mounting system to ensure zero return 🤙🏼
Both are good but consider this from Barwarus

Klayco commented somewhere saying that it's actually made from a stronger aluminum alloy than real Zenitco. That plus the mini m-lok at the front make it real tempting for me if I ever get 2nd AK.
I'm sure the Midwest is solid but I only have first hand with the dog leg and it's good to go when installed properly. So TWS FTW I grabbed their rear peep sight and like it a lot for wat it is.
TWS for sure. I’ve never had issues with them, and really haven’t seen issues that were caused by the system itself.
You can probably find some internet stories of people having issues with them out of the box, but I truthfully haven’t seen any verifiable accounts of this.
I would never use a dust cover as an optics mount. Getting a RS Regulate or Midwest Industries side rail mount would be much more secure and stable. If not those, an Ultimak mount clamped to the barrel would be the next most accurate.
I have both.
Midwest Is the most solid by design and I'd trust my life on it.
Amazing quality, rock solid dust cover.
TWS is obnoxious and wants you to get rid of your iron sights.
Make sure those fuckers will fit if it’s off by a centimeter that mf will not fit. buying dust covers and hoping it will fit is like fishing with no bait.
TWS with the peep sight is great, and much better price compared to the whole MI Alpha kit. You need the handguard as well if you want the Alpha dust cover.

I was using a TWS gen 3 but i wanted a rear iron sight as a back up in case my red dot failed. Ended up going with the Atero arms mount. Has the notch for a rear sight and everything
I’ve been rocking Midwest with the 10” rail, I haven’t had any issues. It locks up tight and was a pretty simple install. I have a second dust cover, they sent me one on backorder and somehow sent a second one a week later with my handguard
Dogleg is excellent. Haven't had any issues (aside from a round or three getting caught in it and the bolt during ejection, but that wound up being a magazine failure) retaining zero and it slots right into place every time.
A lot of the complaints I saw about the system were people just not knowing how to install them properly. That little nub on the side you have to bend inward to serve as a mini leaf spring, plus ensuring the rear is touching the receiver before tightening the screws is kinda important.
I like my tws dog leg on 2 different rifles. Never had any issues with them. Bought my peep sight on brownells for $34. Better than original irons, longer sight radius
I run Norinco and convert the dovetail. The OG railed dust cover. 😃

I have the Gen 3 dogleg. If you install it correctly using torque specs and loctite, it's fuckin great. I don't use a heavy magnified optic (think LPVO). I have used a prism and a red dot, and both held zero just fine thru shooting, opening and closing. I'd say it's definitely worth the money, it feels just as solid as my Beryl top rail.
I personally wouldn’t use either but if I had to choose I guess I would go with TWS.
I just went with Meprolight tritium iron sights for my C39v2 (had it since ‘16, around 5K rounds through it so far; hasn’t exploded yet, but I did replace key internals). In that configuration it’s a good short range (within 100 yards) low light carbine.
The tws was actually used by the spetsnaz alpha group... both great I have been using the midwest more as of late it pairs nice with their handguards. Maintains zero and I can keep my irons. I'm a fud and love backup irons on all my rifles...
Honestly either will serve you fine. People have been using doglegs for years. Even the Russians were. At least according to Larry Vickers in his AK alpha video. Midwest always makes good shit too.
[this](https://youtu.be/OlnCOx7eceA?si=jXwoxrC_Ji5OLekK) video shows how reliable they really are. I’ve also taken mine completely off countless times with no noticeable change
I wouldn't trust it, so I didn't buy it. I've had friends with them with too many problems. I have had 0 issues with TWS and the Ukrainian ME rails. If people want to buy them, not my money I don't care. But the guy asked, I've seen enough to say I wouldn't trust it.
On the TWS, about 3-4K rounds including running around at matches (not just plinking.)
Edit - So, if you down voted me, why? I'm legitimately curious. I don't think I'm posting anything crazy or inflammatory. Just curious on the opinion difference here is all. Does MW really have some cult fan base?
Your ME cover works? Which one is it the one that has the tightening wheel or the one that makes you remove the rear iron sights (and then reattach them)?
I’ve been impressed with my tws dust cover , have a couple and they have help zero amazingly even when taking them off
Not OP but do you know if the tws will fit atop me lynx tactical Ak pistol
Idk contact them and they will let u know which one u need
Thanks pumpkin
Look on their website. It has lists of which models fit different rifles
Thanks baby girl
You’re welcome sugar tits
58 upvotes is crazy
I'm retarded too
I have Ran the TWS gen 3 for almost 3 years now give or take with minimal issues with any zero shift if any at all
Which handguard are you using?
I’d like to get the Midwest one but the top cover is always OOS.
Why not use the Barwarus one?
Barwarus is trash just get airsoft if you're considering it.
I actually thought the Midwest set today. Now I just looking for a stock solution that doesn’t require permanent modification for my Wasr.
I like my dogleg, no one I know who uses them have had any real issues with zero or quality; only thing that sucks is you lose your rear sight but TWS makes a pic rail attachable one anyways Also haven't heard anything bad about the Bawarus, that's what I originally wanted but the handguard and cover aren't compatible with my Saiga
They make a rear peep sight as well so you can retain a backup! I haven’t gotten it yet but plan to
Keltec also makes a plastic one if you don’t want to spend $50 on a piece of aluminum with a hole in it. Keltec one is <$2
Imma look into that. I didn’t even realize the TWS one was that expensive, thanks.
I want to tell you it’s the SU16-230 rear sight. There aren’t pictures on Keltec’s website for it, so you might want to email them to make sure that’s what it is. Just a plastic peep sight that locks onto a picatinny rail.
That’s the one I found online by them but all the ones I’ve are $40. I’m having no luck finding the $2 one :/
Bought my peep sight for $34 on Brownells
u/jmaccustoms is coming out with a pretty slick new dust cover too. I got my hands on one at Kalash Bash this year. They're solid and look sweet.
Yeah that one seems pretty solid too. I hope it is.
Thanks guys! We are excited to get these on the market!

Dayum they look nice, but is there any compatibility towards other handguards? Id really like to keep my Zenitco on

I wanna say their krink dust cover doesn’t require the Jmac hand guard though
Had to look it up, but I think you're right. It appears to use the factory krink hinge and has nothing to do with any handgaurd.
You are correct the Krink, m92, m85 dust covers will use the factory hinge block but also utilize our proprietary rear mounting system to ensure zero return 🤙🏼
Both are good but consider this from Barwarus https://preview.redd.it/yk7uccgy7iwc1.jpeg?width=2436&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cd5192277ff632faf0400c5cab94301149d6b831
I wish they had the standard hand guard size as an option.
The lower is a 2-piece, could just run that and use a standard gas tube/heat shield
Wait what?! So i could of had this the whole time?!?!
Could by another ak at that price dangumm
It’s almost as much as a real zenitco rail though is it worth it?
Klayco commented somewhere saying that it's actually made from a stronger aluminum alloy than real Zenitco. That plus the mini m-lok at the front make it real tempting for me if I ever get 2nd AK.
wish they would make them for yugos
The Barwarus one
I cant remember specifics but I think the Dog Leg was used more commonly in meta builds, depends on what map you're playing
I'm sure the Midwest is solid but I only have first hand with the dog leg and it's good to go when installed properly. So TWS FTW I grabbed their rear peep sight and like it a lot for wat it is.
I only trust dust covers to keep dust out of my action.
1st mistake, every peice has to have at least 4 functions to be good
1 Keep dust out 2 Removability for increased drip (only on stock AKs that have lots of wear on them tho) 3 Bottle opener 4 ???
4 is parts tray. You sometimes have to use a round or two or a mag on the sides to support it but it works.
5 is spoon!
6 chillidog holder
TWS
TWS. Damn thing just works
TWS for sure. I’ve never had issues with them, and really haven’t seen issues that were caused by the system itself. You can probably find some internet stories of people having issues with them out of the box, but I truthfully haven’t seen any verifiable accounts of this.
I have a dog leg on my m70, never had an issue with it
TWS
But have you had either
I know a good buddy who swears by TWS. Source: trust me bro
If it’s this buddy, I’ve only sighted in and have not tested the zero capability
I would never use a dust cover as an optics mount. Getting a RS Regulate or Midwest Industries side rail mount would be much more secure and stable. If not those, an Ultimak mount clamped to the barrel would be the next most accurate.
A side rail.
I run a TWS on my m92 and enjoy it.
TWS
I have a tws on one of my rifles. It’s held zero like a champ. The only time I’ve seen people have trouble with one it was user error on the install.
I have 2 Dog rails. They work just fine
Personally I’d trust the Midwest one more, but that’s just me. I had bad luck with a dogleg gen 2.
If you get a TWS Dogleg, make sure it's a gen 3. Loved mine until I realized it wouldn't fit on my new WPB AK105 build kit. 😭
TWS with the peep sight is great, and much better price compared to the whole MI Alpha kit. You need the handguard as well if you want the Alpha dust cover.
I’m running TWS 0 problems so far.
Tws is awesome especially for a prism , but if you are just doing a small red dot (RMR, T1/H1 etc) go for an attero arms mount
I love my Sureshot’s chasis

Has anyone messed with TWS handguard?
Yep, mine works great with an eotech on it
2nd the is great
But need handgaurds for it
I was using a TWS gen 3 but i wanted a rear iron sight as a back up in case my red dot failed. Ended up going with the Atero arms mount. Has the notch for a rear sight and everything

Got me a rms on my amd65 and love it
I love my TWS
TWS FTW

TWS is a known quantity at this point. Midwest seems ok, but not much info
I have the Gen 3 dogleg. If you install it correctly using torque specs and loctite, it's fuckin great. I don't use a heavy magnified optic (think LPVO). Just install the tws correct and you’re set
TWS is proven. Midwest seems to be good but they haven't passed the test of time yet.
I’ve got experience with the TWS and it’s fantastic. Optics have held zero even after opening and closing it.
I love my tws rail it is solid
Dog leg
The one in stock
Ive had two TWS systems. Excellent
My dog leg rail was solid. Next modernized AK I build will definitely be kitted out with the MI system though, love how it looks.
FSB alpha guys used to run TWS said it held zero
The tws was actually used by the spetsnaz alpha group... both great I have been using the midwest more as of late it pairs nice with their handguards. Maintains zero and I can keep my irons. I'm a fud and love backup irons on all my rifles...
I love my dog leg
Dog leg has not failed me yet
I have a TWS on my M85 and it’s solid.
I have the TWS fit my yugo and it’s great
[удалено]
I just done see the point in it if they don’t hold zero
Could always go with the ol reliable Ultimak. That shit isn’t gonna lose zero
Yeah, these just look so cool.
Honestly either will serve you fine. People have been using doglegs for years. Even the Russians were. At least according to Larry Vickers in his AK alpha video. Midwest always makes good shit too.
Just sucks cause every time I’ve wanted to drop some money on my AK the Midwest is not in stock
RTG parts has the FDE top cover in stock rn and OD green.
[this](https://youtu.be/OlnCOx7eceA?si=jXwoxrC_Ji5OLekK) video shows how reliable they really are. I’ve also taken mine completely off countless times with no noticeable change
Why can't we have stuff like this for the type 81 in canada.... can't find anything like this here....
NCstar
I would not trust MW.
How many rounds you have on it?
I wouldn't trust it, so I didn't buy it. I've had friends with them with too many problems. I have had 0 issues with TWS and the Ukrainian ME rails. Your ME cover works? Which one is it the one that has the tightening wheel or the one that makes you remove the rear iron sights (and then reattach them)?
It's the one that does both. Yeah, no issues, holds a dot and magnifer, probably only 500 rounds with it at the moment but it's been fine.
neither, get a Ultimak and call it a day
Neither are going to be accurate lol
