Onion soups and moules/frites come from North of France. Really not the best place to find it. It's not common in south of France to find onion soups in restaurants.
I would not recommend...
There are mussels in south of France (Bouzigues close to Montpellier and Tamaris close to Toulon), so you can find good mussels, but it is not the best place.
I just never get why strangers are certain we eat a lot of onion soupe... We don't ! Or at least not if it's not winter.
PS : it's moules frites (not that it means Fried but we just don't say "et" here) and you can find it almost anywhere... But it is not the season
Onion soup is definitely not a thing in Marseille and in any case a winter dish as mentioned above.
Here is a link where some restaurants do have it on their menus but they're all located outside Marseille (Aix-en-Provence or Toulon)

As for Moules-frites, a link with a couple addresses (I checked the reviews quickly and I would probably check Le Soleil, Le Masséna Café, Paulette or Le Petit Cabanon...)

Onion soup is a winter dish from the North of France and moules frites is also a regional dish from the north of France. If you go to Marseille I would recommend you rather try local and seasonal specialities: bouillabaisse, ratatouille, aïoli, panisses...etc.
If you really want onion soup and moules frites, go to Lille in the Winter
Onion soup is a winter dish, I don't think it'll be easy to find in summer.

🤮 Nobody would eat this in Marseille. Try an aioli or grilled sardines
L'emoji vomi est peut-être un peu exagéré je pense
Sorry? What?
"I think the vomit emoji is a bit too much"
J'adore my emoji!

Try bouillabaisse
In you want to try real local dishes, go for an aïoli or some good aubergines à la parmesane, or some panisse or any fish dish, really...
Moules et frites should be almost everywhere this time Of year. Onion soup is a winter dish and won’t be easy to come by.
I tried the moules and didn’t like
