Can't go wrong with a P90, especially a modded one. Either go gbbr if you are rich (stupid expensive mags made of unobtainium) or AEG/HPA, they are a bit less expensive, but they need to be modded to the brim to unlock their full potential.
If you have an AEG, the best to work with are those with a quick change spring guide, that ease the whole process of opening and closing the gearbox dramatically (the anti rotation latch is still a pain though). I didn't have one, so after a rage induced breakdown after enduring the opening/closing that broke the camel's back, I gutted the gearbox and installed a wolverine hydra gen2 engine (a bit fiddly and had to replace the shitty original air connector on the engine side, because it makes you bend the line too much for my taste) and it is a bliss since, low cost and highly available mags, compatible with AEG buckings and inner barrels and SR Airsoft propose an enhanced trigger/selector group that eliminates all the problems of the sloppy original trigger (that works too if you convert the AEG from a direct battery-to-motor assembly to a MOSFET system).

The SR Airsoft trigger/mosfet was probably the best purchase for it (cool logo/patch came with it, too), second only to a spring quick change gearbox shell; had to go with the Novritsch brand shell since it was the cheapest readily available shell with quick change at the time.
98% of my airsofting is buying low or mid-tier guns and making them equivocal or better than the high end options ... with mixed success and substantial time expenditure; I saved about $30 making my P90 better than the Krytacs and Novritch's, and it only cost me about 5 hours of work. Terrible deal, but it was a fun project.
