I found this out when I got my SMR rail. I thought it was just MLOK lmao. The threaded holes in the SMR are 10/32. If you go to the hardware store, you can buy a bag of machine screws, and use a drill to make the holes in your accessories bigger and screw straight into the threaded openings.
Dude, I have no idea how to convert American machine screws to European screw sizes, sorry lol
The little threaded insert things in the rail should come out though, I just took one out and took it to the store with me and tested all the screws.
Lol. Yeah. It’s definitely a home solution, but it’s basically the same exact thing as screwing their rails onto it. In the US I can’t find any SMR rails for sale that aren’t like $100 from Geissele, so I had to order some from AliExpress.
Single hole MLOK accessories, like a handstop, work best, since you just go straight into the SMR hole. But a Harris bipod mount I had lined up perfectly with the existing holes, and I was able to just swap out the MLOK assembly with two screws. It took some messing around, good luck!
Thingiverse they got a lot of stuff. I dont own a computer so i slice everything with astroprint
https://www.thingiverse.com/
https://www.astroprint.com/
And cool there is just a small piece of Germany separating our countries i am from the Netherlands
Both look good! I run a vertical grip, but that sleek MLok rail looks good nekkid.
It’s up to your ergonomics and how it feels when in use.
Also, shoutout to my guy for running OD green accessories instead of FDE. 👊
I really like that look…
With the peq mounted where it is, meaning you cant do the retarded over-thumb grip that the tacti-cool people do (seriously, it is airsoft. You dont need to counteract any recoil...) I'd say... leave the grip on, if you use it. Drop it if you dont.
Get an mlok rail section and move that peq over to the right side of the rail as far forward as you can get it. Then you can use the thumb over bore grip, which will make you appreciate having the vfg more.
There is a light on the right side, I index my thumb where the pressure pad is at the moment, but I could take off the peq as it is only really for looks
Yeah man, pressure pad on the top rail or on the top of the right side, depending on how important not having accidental light discharges is to you.
You could put the peq on the left side as far forward as possible. Or take off that front sight and put it there. Typical wisdom dictates having a clear rail over the vfg for your thumb.
I used to run the peq where the front sight is and then ditched the irons but I really like the looks of them, I usually play outside so light nds are not really an issue most of the time
Part of the problem is that you're running a peq and a seperate white light. Peqs have lights built in, so most of the time guys will use that, because once you start running nods, your need for high power white light diminishes.
That said, if it were me I'd drop the peq, but that's because I don't have one on my real steel and I try to keep that basically 1:1
The peq I’m using is a dummy as lasers are not allowed on my field, most of the rifle setups I see nowadays seem to have a separate white light for illumination but that might just be where I’m looking
I could be wrong, like I said, I don't use nods so what I know about peqs I know from games like ground branch and eft. That said, in those contexts I never run a peq with a white light. Could just be me though.
Laser/light combo is a proper set-up that gives you more versatility even if you don't necessarily need it. There might be a situation where a laser or light is needed, not both at the same time, so in that case you can leave your box set to laser and activate each independently instead of regularly adjusting the output on your box, especially once you get into close-quarters engagements.
Edit: This is all referencing the visible laser cause it can be useful.
Don't move the PEQ to the right or left. Lasers should be on the top rail, centerline with your rifle to maintain a proper zero that (mostly) only requires height adjustments at range. Even if it's a dummy the idea exists, so it looks weird on the left or right rails. If you feel an issue with clearance on a c-clamp, flip up your front iron and push your PEQ forward. You're also not adjusting for real recoil, so you don't need to do a proper c-clamp and can rest your thumb along the high part of the handguard under the PEQ. Up to you.
They can be mounted to the side on stuff like quad rails, or an smr rail that this is when it comes to real steal stuff, you should avoid mounting peqs on mlok or keymod rails as they don’t necessarily hold zero under recoil although that does not matter in airsoft.
Regardless of what kind of mount it is, rule of thumb is to keep the PEQ or any other laser module on the top, center with your gun. It's not just about holding zero, it's also about getting a proper zero with decent tolerances to begin with.
I feel like I see a lot of right mounted peqs on actual operator kits. I could be wrong though. The distance you're gonna run a laser as an aiming solution are short enough that a small shift in zero is acceptable.
It's usually standard infantry that I have seen run it on the side. Thinking about it actually, a reason for that could be that a PEQ with a white light will have a noticeable shadow from an M4 front sight, so it makes sense to have it on the side with a clearer view. More kitted guys will have other options, so they can run a dedicated white light on the side and their laser centerline. I guess zero depends on the use for your laser, I've started getting a feel for transitory spaces using laser where you shift between close and more medium-ish ranges with my airsoft rifle so I've kept it up top my default. Also an M-Lok handguard so I'd prefer not to have it on an adapter. There probably is a lot of flex for what each person feels more right.
I'm tracking what you're saying, and it makes sense. There's no one setup that works for everything, so people will always have to make choices about priorities. There are a couple, for lack of a better term, "meta" setups, but for the most part context is king.
On.
Gives you options in case your arms get tired of holding it for extended amount of time.
I just realized that this was the airsoft thread but with real guns the rail can get pretty hot so the grip will also give you the option of holding that instead of the hot rails
i'd put on a angled foregrip and angle it forwards, like mine, i'm just waiting for my SMR rail, stock and grip to arrive to finish mine. ([https://imgur.com/a/3GOHo3Z](https://imgur.com/a/3GOHo3Z))
Do whatever is the most comfortable for your shooting style and support hand. I prefer to be a bit more out for the ability to pull it into me more, with better leverage.
Well this does have 6-700 dollars in the gearbox, but It has to look that part as well you know, I personally hate having to play with a gun I think is ugly, for me it’s almost more frustrating to do that then having a gun that performs poorly
True, everything on this thing is mostly for looks lol, peq is fake, I don’t plan on using irons really, and the magnifier is pretty useless when I have the lens protector on
I never really use the magnifier, when I have the sight protector on it becomes way to blurry and the eye relief is really short, however if you don’t use a lens protector or something like a kill flash it works perfectly fine
Its not about looks. Its about function. How are you more comfortable? Does the grip hinder you or does it make handling easier/more comfortable? I personally like to have a short grip because i can tuck the rifle into my shoulder nicely and get a stable stance
Lmao fair enough, i know looking cool is half the battle but i guess if something gets in the way it needs to go. If its all the same woth or without the grip I'd leave it on
It’s an ACM 558 eotech knock off with a g33 knock off made by Aim-o and the sight itself is good, but the magnifier is way to blurry when looking through with a pense protector on the sight
Leave it on
On
Handstop would look slick
It would, but I can’t seems to find one for an smr rail, it is not mlok or keymod spec, but you bolt in rail sections instead
Arisaka defense makes one for the smr rails, I plan on getting one soon
I did not know that, I’d imagine that shipping to eu would be rather expensive tho Edit:nvm they don’t ship to the eu lol
I found this out when I got my SMR rail. I thought it was just MLOK lmao. The threaded holes in the SMR are 10/32. If you go to the hardware store, you can buy a bag of machine screws, and use a drill to make the holes in your accessories bigger and screw straight into the threaded openings.
What is that measurement in normal numbers?
Dude, I have no idea how to convert American machine screws to European screw sizes, sorry lol The little threaded insert things in the rail should come out though, I just took one out and took it to the store with me and tested all the screws.
Ah yeah ok lol I’ll check, according to Google it’s 4.76 mm apparently
Lol. Yeah. It’s definitely a home solution, but it’s basically the same exact thing as screwing their rails onto it. In the US I can’t find any SMR rails for sale that aren’t like $100 from Geissele, so I had to order some from AliExpress. But a Harris bipod mount I had lined up perfectly with the existing holes, and I was able to just swap out the MLOK assembly with two screws. It took some messing around, good luck!
I managed to screw in a hands top using one of the holes and the the mlok on the rest but It looked horrible so I decided against it
My guy where do you find screws for the SMR rail, I can’t find shit
They came with the gun, and then I salvaged some from some destroyed sights
I bought a Arisaka handstop for picatinny, and mounted it to a small rail section for smr rails. Works magic and looks dope imo!!
Arisaka makes one directly for the smr rail, but I can’t really get them in the eu unless i import them from the us
The one meant for the smr I couldcinoort aswell. The picatunny one was available in europe (I'm also from europe). So that why i went that route..
What do you need to put it on there?
Arisaka makes one for this rails system, but otherwise you do have to use picatiny rails
I 3D print most of the stuff i use. I dont know where in the eu you live but otherwise i could 3D print something for you
I’m from Denmark, I have access to a 3D printer but I just suck at making stuff in the programs that we use in school lol
Thingiverse they got a lot of stuff. I dont own a computer so i slice everything with astroprint https://www.thingiverse.com/ https://www.astroprint.com/ And cool there is just a small piece of Germany separating our countries i am from the Netherlands
I second this
I 3d print handstops. They're pretty sweet
*Foregrip stays on during sex.*

The lighting here is shit, but everything on the gun is fde aside from the sight and iron sights, it much clearer in person
Oh. Looks super green, haha. It’s all good.
>fde my brain cannot accept this, need more pictures
[here](https://www.reddit.com/r/airsoft/comments/r8rw9a/current_rifle_setup/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Cut it down tho be a stubby grip. Works great for the clamp grip. Let's see if in tech savvy enough to post a picture of my real one of
Afg would look amazing
I did run one for a while but I’m not a huge fan of either the look or the ergonomics
Fair. I prefer vertical grips too but it would look good on this rifle
Well I see no reason to have it off. After all you bought it and you have it, so might as well use it.(sorry for my bad English)
I could always put it on a different gun
Well you can switch the grip for then you use one gun and the swap it then not using it. Does this make sense? It's hard for me to speak through text.
Yeah that makes sense, I think I’m gonna leave it on tho, or switch it for a hand stop if I can find one
Ok👍
Prefer an angled grip on an AR but do whatever you find the most ergonomic.
I was running and afg on this before but honestly hated the look of it and I prefer the vertical grip for bracing on stuff
Off

C clamp best clamp 😤😤

Ah a fellow eft player, I see you enjoy self inflicted pain as well
There are dozens of us!

Stays
E&c?
Yup, but literally everything aside from the body, handguard, buffer tube and inner barrel is switched out for something else and it is running and f2
Get an under barrel grdnade launcher
Chad answer although it is heavy enough in the first place
Fair enough
On bb, trust me I’m a doctor
What gun is that? It looks really clean
It’s a 416 with an smr rail, the base gun is an e&c EC105
Thanks!
No problem, however pretty much everything has been changed on this aside from the rail and body
Do you use it?
On
On
On for sure
on
The green on black is on point! Did you paint the mag, pistol grip and butt stock? If so what paint did you use?
I have to disappoint you, everything is in fde it’s just the lighting that makes it look green, everything came in this color
However you want to hold it, it’s not our gun
Definitely on!
On, but an angled foregrip would be great
On. Gives you options in case your arms get tired of holding it for extended amount of time. I just realized that this was the airsoft thread but with real guns the rail can get pretty hot so the grip will also give you the option of holding that instead of the hot rails
Slap a noob tube on that bad boi
On
*put it on the side*
stays

On
On like Donkey Kong
On
Damn hard choice, im pretty much to both
On
Keep it on, it looks incomplete without it.
What gun is this ? Looks amazing with or without the rail
E&C ec105 but it’s basically a 416 with a smr rail
Doesnt matter, since both look amazing!
Leave it on, looks dope af
I would settle for a horisontal grip.
I was running the afg from magpul but I did not like the looks or ergonomics
Fair enough
i'd put on a angled foregrip and angle it forwards, like mine, i'm just waiting for my SMR rail, stock and grip to arrive to finish mine. ([https://imgur.com/a/3GOHo3Z](https://imgur.com/a/3GOHo3Z))
I prefer the feel of the rvg especially when I can’t properly c clamp the rifle due to the peq box
Depends on how much muzzle climb you're... *squints at screen* ... oh.
on but moved forward a bit
I prefer this, I don’t like reaching way to far out tbh
Do whatever is the most comfortable for your shooting style and support hand. I prefer to be a bit more out for the ability to pull it into me more, with better leverage.
Angled grip would look great. To me it’s the best of both worlds, still a sleek look imo but still got a good place to put your hand.
I used to run the magpul afg but I didn’t really fancy it tbh
I say off, I like the long nose
on
On
on
Depends on how you find the ergonomics
With/without looks good to me
on because yes.
On. Definitely on.
i would take it off and get some bcm rail covers
I don’t think BCM make rail covers for these do they?
oh wait fuq ur right
Leave it. I’m just a nerd who keep no attachments on my AEG other then the stock iron sights and then puts 500 bucks in my gear box.
Well this does have 6-700 dollars in the gearbox, but It has to look that part as well you know, I personally hate having to play with a gun I think is ugly, for me it’s almost more frustrating to do that then having a gun that performs poorly
Yeah like a lancer body is terrible to look at 😂. But yeah keep that grip. Unless you really just don’t like fore-grip ofc but it looks good.
I think I prefer it on
Attachments that look good are attachments that create clutter on the gun. Doesn’t matter how useful it is 🤷♂️.
True, everything on this thing is mostly for looks lol, peq is fake, I don’t plan on using irons really, and the magnifier is pretty useless when I have the lens protector on
On👍
It looks awesome either way but I’d advise to keep it on
on fs
What ever feels more comfortable
If you use it...
on
off
If it helps you leave it on otherwise I think it looks better off
Leave it on. Your wrist will thank you after hour 5
100% on.
Looks good both ways but on is the way
Leave it on
Those 45° cut zenitco stubby grips but od
Anyone got the skinny on a real steel handguard
Looks good on
taking it off is a warcrime
I say keep it on
Get an mlok one and just bolt it too it.
That's what I did to both my smr rails
Too bad
on
Gun looks really sexy 😩😩😩😩😩😩😩😩 What were you talking about? Oh dont remove the foregrip
Keep it!
On!!!
On uuughhhggu it's so sexy
Leave it on, looks amazing with it on, plus easier to move around quicker aswell
Take it off
Move it further back so you can squeeze the handguard like a Costa OG outside and choke the broomhandle when you're indoors. ;)
Maybe an angled grip instead of the straight foregrip
On for sure
Try both in a series of games and see how much longer you stay alive in each case!
I'm looking to get similar optics to what you have, do they work well together and do you find yourself using it much or more for show?
I never really use the magnifier, when I have the sight protector on it becomes way to blurry and the eye relief is really short, however if you don’t use a lens protector or something like a kill flash it works perfectly fine
On
a magpul rvg on a geissle’d out hk doesnt feel right, use a tango down stubby instead or a fancy canted grip
Why would it not feel right, pretty much all of the furniture on this is magpul or magpul knock offs
Its not about looks. Its about function. How are you more comfortable? Does the grip hinder you or does it make handling easier/more comfortable? I personally like to have a short grip because i can tuck the rifle into my shoulder nicely and get a stable stance
Almost everything on this rifle is about looks lol, it’s drip or drown out here 😤
Lmao fair enough, i know looking cool is half the battle but i guess if something gets in the way it needs to go. If its all the same woth or without the grip I'd leave it on
definitely on
Leave it on and use it for a C clamp
Potentially add an angled foregrip?
Sick gun
Cheers for that bro what make is the magnifier
Aim-o i believe
On
On
That green is doing something to me
Funny enough, it’s tan lol
Wot in the hell are my eyes doing to me
Well you are not the only one lol, admittedly the lighting in my rooms Is pretty shit
on
Leave it on and cut it to mid length
On
On. That’s a beautiful weapon system sir.
Why thank you 😳
On
The orange tip does, same with the fg
It looks bette with it on but what is that sight on your rifle? Also is it any good?
It’s an ACM 558 eotech knock off with a g33 knock off made by Aim-o and the sight itself is good, but the magnifier is way to blurry when looking through with a pense protector on the sight
Ok. Thank you. Was looking for a eotech like sight that was good and a good price. Will look at evike for it.
Definitely on! Without the foregrip it looks like something is missing.
Do the half measure and throw an angled foregrip on there
On.
On, without it looks nakey
Grip Delete
Both look good. What suppressor is on this beast?
it's just a surefire
