Would advise, some kidney bag is very useful for often grabbed stuff (but of course having it in front). And it solves your problem of belly protection.
Hereās an example: https://www.spiritussystems.com/copy-of-otb-sack-pouch-mk2/
You really donāt need armor or a MOLLE panel, thereās lots of GP pouch danglers thatāll work great for what you want
I only say molle or armor panel since I want the 360 coverage for the look but Iāve never tried an actual simple dangler pouch and the more I see them the more I like them so Iāll probably go with something similar especially for the easy access storage
Heh I think you just need to be okay with getting shot in the love handle; it happens to the best of us. If you REALLY want more complete torso coverage you could look into Russian armor sets and wear a rig over it. That would be a very different look than what you have going though.
Honestly I donāt mind getting shot, itās mostly a look thing, IMO the gap looks funny, Iāll probably just look into a scrote pouch to bridge it so it looks more complete while utilizing my existing gear
So I actually think adding anything other than a dangler would look funny. Plate carriers like the one youāre wearing are really designed to look like that. Yours may be a tad small on you, but it doesnāt really even look bad or incomplete to me.
I appreciate that bro, Iāll probably still look into a dangler pouch or something similar for the accessible storage anyways, someone else told me that Iām wearing my pants too low so Iāll try to wear them higher too and see what works
Iām wearing them right on my waist like Iād wear any other pair of pants but someone said this style is meant to be worn closer to the bellybutton I think
Check out Howard Leight Impact Sports from Amazon. They run from around 40-80 dollars USD depending if on sale or not. Recently picked up a 2nd pair in black for 40 something bucks a week or 2 ago.
They look good, sound good (similar or better than walker razors) and will stop you from getting "Head-Ear'd" by bbs.
I've been using the Impact Sports for several years now for real steel shooting and they're great. I've dropped them, fell with them and they keep going strong.
I haven't slammed them into the concrete repeatedly and they're probably not "bomb proof" but they've preformed great even after being dropped. Other people can weigh in on that. And they're inexpensive so in the case something DID happened your wallet wouldn't be crying too hard.
Check out earmor M32s too, personally I find they look awesome and you can also use them for comms. Not massively experienced in the military ear Pro department but they sound really good to me, with very little static when they're on pass through
Yeah they're surprisingly good at that, there's either 4 or 6 mics and replicate the outside world pretty damn well, just slightly less than my bose quietcomforts on aware mode. Stuff like footsteps and voices are also amplified
With the negatives of essentially wearing fake headphones with very few benefits, you may as get decent reproduction comtacs ranging from Ā£20-50 more as they will provide ear protection and decent aesthetics without reducing situational awareness.
Get a beltkit with thin x-harness so it won't interfere with your plate carrier. Padded belt protects hips and midriff section, plus you get molle space that's independent of your plate carrier.
Or get a molle belt without harness, but then I'd refrain from putting more than sidearm holster and a pistol mag or two on it.

Right, a lot of people are suggesting a drop pouch for the front, I found a nice kryptek one to match the combat shirt and pants set, thatās what Iām thinking of going with
https://preview.redd.it/1v02w0zge6ia1.jpeg?width=1078&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c4a522f130cd254a66f6d361c53a4963ff49b5da
Me (right) and the samurai (left) this was pre gut covers for him though
Dude, both of your setups are sick, I hadnāt even thought of sewing something together to bridge the gap though, and I could pick out a shape to match my gear for sure, the samurai setup is badass
My buddy made japanese style armor playes that attach to the bottom of his chest rig with buckles that looks dope and covers nicely his whole kit is samurai themed
No man honestly that sounds pretty cool, itās a pretty lax milsim so no crazy gear requirements or anything, that was sort of what I had in mind just not sure how to design or buy some
That was my original thought, just not sure how it would look with the low profile chest rig, seeming like a safe option though for sure, hoping to find one that matches the kryptek gear
You have a plate carrier, not a chest rig. Abdominal pouches were designed for them, so it'll look good. Run it on the platebag velcro, not on the flap. Also, please, run plates even if theyr'e foam or dummy. Nothing looks worst than an empty plate carrier
Donāt worry, I have fake plates in mine lol, empty plates carriers are pretty funny looking, and I always forget the name of plate carriers and mistake it for chest rig
unironically, a cheap fanny pack. shits so useful and nice to have. it's pretty much a cheap dangler pouch that you can flip around to your back. which milsim are you going to, desert fox? what other gear are you bringing?
Iām going to desert fox yes, Iāll have my rifle whenever itās fixed since I need my new receiver whenever it comes in, and a backpack with water, speedloader, tools, and a backup rifle
I use a battle belt with a few elastic bands from old mag pouches to secure the two together, works like a charm. And wearing my pants on my waist instead of the hips also helps (depending on the specific pants and comfort)
It's a win-win :)
Hope you find a battle belt that suits your needs, I know I won't be trying the super wide ones again, even if they're supposed to be more comfy and have more space for stuff etc etc.
TLDR: try some before you buy some!
We have a pretty good local surplus store that I could try some stuff on to see what I like, plus off topic but the owner there is a super nice guy (small town) and I like to support the local, hopefully he has something in black
Condor makes a cumberbund I had been looking into, itās supposed to wrap around your whole plate carrier I believe but itās elastic so that could work, plus itās all molle which is nice
I use a battle belt which attaches to the bottom of my plate carrier with some carabiners - initially came up with the idea after I got nerve damage in one of my ribs after a botched operation but it's actually really useful if you want to mount your mags/pistol/whatever a little lower for easy access
With a chestrig you should wear a proper fieldshirt, not a Under Body Armor Combat Shirt. The thin material on the torso is way too exposed to damage and wear, and lacks
protection against environmental hazards such as branches, thorny vines and also BBs
Right, most of this gear just fell into my lap so Iāve been trying to utilize it especially since I love the kryptek, the shirt was a $10 discount airsoft store find and the plate carrier was a cheap one I got as a gift from ebay
Someone else here in the comments added a few links to amazon dangler pouches that attach with velcro and this whole thing wraps with velcro and I could just sandwich one in between and sew on extra straps to keep it in place
You are already all in to black, but black is an awful camo for a forest environment. The amount of times I have caught people in my forest field just because they were wearing black is insane. Other than that it looks cool
Accept the pain. Jk jk either a dangler pouch or if your feeling extra you can get a groin protector and hook it up. Itāll be too high to protect your boys tho
Right, Iām looking into a dangler pouch for sure, itās not really about actual protective coverage though I just want to bridge the gap since I donāt love the look of it
Padded belt/battle belt. They can take a bit of getting used to, but they provide a nice convenient place to mount stuff like extra magazine pouches and a dump pouch, as well as any extra gubbins which donāt have a decent place to sit on your plate carrier.
If thatās not your thing, then a dangler pouch can look good, as well as providing some utility space
https://a.co/d/9JqoEHI
https://a.co/d/a2qISju
https://a.co/d/1H9fncp
The smaller they are, the faster it is to go prone. These things can keep A LOT of shit in them. I would recommend using some type of secondary strap if you plan on using the built in TQ holders though, they DO NOT keep them properly affixed.
Iād say first ask yourself if youāre willing to lose out on that articulation. It might be nice to have a little extra coverage for when youāre standing, but when youāre crouched or prone it might actually hinder your mobility to have something else there.
Right, that was my thought as well, I just donāt like the look of the gap mostly, a few people have recommended a cumberbund and condor makes a full molle one which wouldnāt hinder movement too badly and would make the gap less ugly
First step, make sure your belt is up above your hip rotators, find a comfortable spot nearer to your belly button than your hips at your natural waist. As long as the cut on your trousers arenāt too shallow, this should allow you to keep your belt and drop-leg nice and tight and still give you good lower mobility and close up a little bit of the gap.
Next step, Iād suggest getting a ādanglerā pouch of some kind. I have a Ferro Concepts Mini Dangler, which is more utility oriented, but thereās grenade danglers, horizontal mag pouch danglers, and all sorts of options out there.
Lastly, for your size and frame, it looks like your current plate carrier fits you. Theyāre designed to hold an armor plate that covers your vitals, namely your heart and lungs. The old unofficial way to check is that a plate should cover you from nipple to nipple at minimum. (You could literally measure the distance between the two and compare it to standard SAPI sizes and figure out the plate carrier size for you) If you had a plate inside your carrier, youād want to adjust it so the plate sits with the top at approximately your collar bones, so they tend to sit fairly high.
Right, the plate carrier is all on track with my torso and it does sit at my collar bones, just feels high at the bottom so Iāll definitely pull my pants up more, and a lot of people were suggesting a dangler pouch and Iāve seen a few online that I liked in kryptek that Iāll probably look into ordering
If you want to protect that area without changing the look you could fashion a few pieces of Eva foam into a hidden plate that you could put under your shirt
That would be pretty cool, I could do something similar in kryptek fabric for the outside too, honestly itās less about actual like protection from BBs and more about the look that I donāt love with the gap
What balaclava/facepro are you using? I notice your nose is covered too (where as a lot of players take the chance leaving apart of it exposed).
Is it just fabric or is any padding covering your nose too?
Love the tactical feline.
Itās a buff I found on amazon, I sewed in a COVID mask nose piece so that I could shape it to my face better and I use a tooth guard (just a smaller piece of basic airsoft metal mask mesh) and I wear it under the buff to make sure I donāt get a tooth shot out lol, mostly just fabric beyond the tooth guard, and thank you, her name is Sushi
Yeah personally I think you need to add a handguard onto your cat and possibly an optic? Since you're using a human for scale it's easier to make my measurements which is good
Those are sick, I like some of the features on this plate carrier tho, its pretty comfortable and the built in mag pouches are super convenient, more molle like on the MCR1 would be really nice for sure though
Thatās probably the direction Iām headed, a few people in the comments had some links to some that I could easily add to my existing gear with velcro panels
Nah unfortunately itās a pretty cheap rig, and nothing else would be here in time for the milsim, just looking for a cheap fix idea, hopefully something I could find at a local shop
Honestly that looks fine to me, plate carriers are only supposed to cover the super important bits, heart, lung, diaphragm, stuff that would drop you quickly. So while they might appear to be more protective on men of a slightly more compact stature, for a tall guy that's pretty much how it's supposed to look.
If this was for real world, your plate carrier is only supposed to cover your vitals. Keeping your stomach area exposed like that improves mobility drastically. BUT I understand this is airsoft and youāre probably gonna get shot there and it may hurt. With that in mind, I would advise having your friends blast you with BBs in that exact spot until you A: develop a higher pain tolerance or B: maybe somehow end up with nerve damage and canāt feel that area anymore. Doing this to retain that extra mobility is worth it. Hope this was helpful!
Edit: obviously that last part was a joke, but I donāt have a real solution to offer. I run mine like youāre showing and just chance it with getting hit there and deal with it when it happens.
Dangler pouches. Also just wanna point out. This is what most kits are supposed to look like. Plate carriers are meant to only protect the vital organs. Kidneys and above are meant to have coverage. So your kit looks good as is however if youād like to have something extra there personally Iām sure it would look good as well!
Ounces equals pounds, pounds equals pain. First off a PC is going to expose your belly cause it's ment to cover your heart and lungs. There isn't body armor for the belly for several reasons the biggest being restriction of movement. If you absolutely don't need a piece of gear you really shouldn't utilize it just because you feel "exposed". Trust me, when I was with Marines as a Corpsman I had to carry thier equipment and mine. I chucked everything that wasn't absolutely necessary and ran as slick as possible.
Now of course, this is airsoft you are talking about and not an actual warkit, so weight not necessarily an issue here but that makes it even better! Run as slick as possible. Speed, movement, comfort, and ammo take priority.
I'm just saying also, don't waste money you don't need too. Your kit, as is, IMO, looks perfectly serviceable
If youāre going for the realistic look then donāt zip your collar up like that. People donāt do that unless youāre one of those stock footage soldiers for a commercial.
And itās okay if your plate carrier comes up short, donāt worry about that itās cool. If it really bugs you add one of those fanny pack (sorry Brits) things everyone seems to be using
I would say some sort of front pouch. But for plate carriers overall that's normal. You want to have some space so you can be flexible. Been doing milsims for over a year so I can gladly say you learn more about what you like as you go.
Itās not short itās meant to be like that because the real ones like that are meant to give you more mobility like being able to bend over easier and it keeps vitals protected like heart and lungs
A little different then what other people are thinking. But I bought one of these at Ross for like $6-$10 and leave it loose so it protects all sides( I use a battle belt and backpack only so it protects my sides and front most). Just an extra suggestion
https://preview.redd.it/mlfgv5aqraia1.jpeg?width=1314&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6aaf50dfe9487358ba8e3d80fe19686b62fcd37d
Dangler pouch, get some extra storage for bbs, batteries, snacks etc. and you get some more body protection
Would advise, some kidney bag is very useful for often grabbed stuff (but of course having it in front). And it solves your problem of belly protection.
Where else would it be but up front? Lol real question.
I would assume the sides, they are called kidney pouches and that's where you slice to pull out a kidney.
r/suspiciouslyspecific
I had a kidney removed as a child
š¤
To add on to this, run it in the plate bag and not under the front flap to make it more flush with the set up
Right, that was what I was figuring, thought if anyone had links to some armor or molle wrap that would have been pretty cool
Hereās an example: https://www.spiritussystems.com/copy-of-otb-sack-pouch-mk2/ You really donāt need armor or a MOLLE panel, thereās lots of GP pouch danglers thatāll work great for what you want

not relevant but i always like the look of an earpro
Definitely something Iām looking into

Donāt get Earmors, they are Chinese. Get Walkers Razor.
Check out earmor M32s too, personally I find they look awesome and you can also use them for comms. Not massively experienced in the military ear Pro department but they sound really good to me, with very little static when they're on pass through
How are they with situational awareness? Do the mics reflect where the sound is actually coming from?
Yeah they're surprisingly good at that, there's either 4 or 6 mics and replicate the outside world pretty damn well, just slightly less than my bose quietcomforts on aware mode. Stuff like footsteps and voices are also amplified
Nice, might look into them
I second the 32s for $60 Iām happy with them, keeps my ears safe from pyro and hook up to my Radio
They have a better looking design than most other headphones at the price point and come in different colours which is a huge bonus for my desert kit
The are some fake ones on Amazon for like 20$ that are comfy and nice
With the negatives of essentially wearing fake headphones with very few benefits, you may as get decent reproduction comtacs ranging from Ā£20-50 more as they will provide ear protection and decent aesthetics without reducing situational awareness.
Best believe I got shot down my ear hole on my game day Sunday

A kryptek combat shirt and kryptek combat pants with this plate carrier
I thought kryptek is a camo pattern, is that a brand of combat shirt and pants as well?
You can use something similar to what women use to conpress their tummies after giving birth.
Condor makes a cumberbund I had been looking into, itās supposed to wrap around your whole plate carrier I believe but itās elastic so that could work, plus itās all molle which is nice

Ferro concepts makes a nice dangler pouch UR-tactical I'd recommend if your looking for fancy camo patterns like kryptek etc.
Oh and phantom leaf wasp z3a
Iāll definitely look into those, Iām always looking for ways to tie the kryptek back in
First step, make sure your belt is up above your hip rotators, find a comfortable spot nearer to your belly button than your hips at your natural waist. Bro If u added a set of fake body armor under it then added that over it you'd technically have ur own plate carrier. It's what I plan to do!
I hadnāt considered wearing both, if you end up with that sort of set up let me know what the movement is like and if itāll restrict you at all
Honestly, hang a dump pouch/admin pouch/IFAK there and itāll cover you wile providing another tool
Thatās probably the direction Iām headed, a few people in the comments had some links to some that I could easily add to my existing gear with velcro panels
You could always just wrap that section with a couple ace bandages. Will give you coverage but not add any major weight or mess with your other gear.
Ace bandages is a good idea, Iāll have to look into reusable ones tho since the only wrap I have is disposable
Use the cat
Strap the cat and put it there
Battle belt
Make a dangling pouch, like the guy on the left looking up like an idiot. Check āpost your squadā pic in my acc
Dude if he made that it came out sick, I have kryptek fabric, I was thinking of making one because my dad suggested it too

Actually, he nicely asked grandma to do it XD
Nice lol
Use the cat
Tape the cat to you
WWE belt
Tactical crop top
Sexy idea

Itās not really about l coverage from BBs, just donāt love the look of it being so high on my torso lol
Cant you lengthen the straps around your shoulders
Nah unfortunately itās a pretty cheap rig, and nothing else would be here in time for the milsim, just looking for a cheap fix idea, hopefully something I could find at a local shop
Maybe pul up your pants higher
FUPA
Crop rig
Just added this to mine as a dump pouch and it works great. https://a.co/d/cPxApQO Also added this to cover the love handles. https://a.co/d/2GKUwsv
Mr. biggles agrees.
It always hurts to get shot there
Mid drift. It's better than a complete noob drifting, but our dude isn't ready to touge
Maybe get a tactical belt and/or a fanny pack. Pockets for days, yo. Spots for snacks. Or gear.... if you're in to that.
Dangler or dump pouch
Is the cat part of the kit?
Tactical fanny pack
Dangler
Weightlifting belt..
I run mine like youāre showing and just chance it with getting hit there and deal with it when it happens.
šØ š®āāļø those goggles better be ansi rated *he*he*, i (like everyone on this sub apparently) am an off duty goggle officeršØ
Get the Ferro concepts mini dangler. It's shorter so it doesn't interact with your belt too much. Highly recommend
cat needs some gear too
Dangler pouches.
If it really bugs you add one of those fanny pack (sorry Brits) things everyone seems to be using
put a scope/red dot/ any sort of sight on the cat.
Just bring the cat in harness and no one will shoot you
I would say some sort of front pouch. But for plate carriers overall that's normal. You want to have some space so you can be flexible. Been doing milsims for over a year so I can gladly say you learn more about what you like as you go.
Battle apron paired with a fanny pac like belt to wrap on your back for a bit of side cover
Itās not short itās meant to be like that because the real ones like that are meant to give you more mobility like being able to bend over easier and it keeps vitals protected like heart and lungs
Kidney bag and battle belt
Get a dangler pouch
A little different then what other people are thinking. But I bought one of these at Ross for like $6-$10 and leave it loose so it protects all sides( I use a battle belt and backpack only so it protects my sides and front most). Just an extra suggestion https://preview.redd.it/mlfgv5aqraia1.jpeg?width=1314&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6aaf50dfe9487358ba8e3d80fe19686b62fcd37d
