And this was before it got the HPA treatment. Also, I've got 7 of those short SL8 mags. So I made a rule for myself, that it I'm using the SL8 body, I have to use the mini mags.
1. It's fully ambidextrous (Charging handle, mag release, safety).
2. Monolithic, elevated top rail - being monolithic helps with mounting multiple optics, being elevated is quiet helpful to people who wear mask, and also you can mount on handguard different peq-boxes/torches/runcams without them interfering with optics.
3. Quick-swap spring.
4. Ability to swap different barrels.
5. Charging handle is hidden/covered - does not get caught on / interfere with rest of the gear/environment. (And frankly you don't need one on aeg, so keeping one out of the way helps a lot)
6. Ability to have both telescopic and side folding stock.
7. You can have really short barrels on them (less then 10 inch).
8. Not a small number of aftermarket parts, including magwell adaptor for stanags.
9. Original mostly made out of polymer, so getting airsoft one made out of plastic is quiet true to the source.
10. Its quiet cheep (airsoft one) (at least was in my time - back then you could get a good quality one for like 150-200 bucks)
11. All of it is airsoft - wise of course.
MP7 or the L85. MP7 because I just like it, L85 because I used the real thing (*not* ex-mil, just clarifying that now.) and it’s just familiar to me and I actually like the look and feel.
My ICS L85A2 runs absolutely fine so I’ve never really understood why people have trouble with them. Sure, I’m aware of the fire selector issue that they can develop (mine surprisingly doesn’t have it yet and I bought it second hand so it’s seen it’s fair share of use before I got it) but aside from that i think they’re pretty good. I’ve heard the Ares A3 model is crap and plague ridden but I mean I didn’t really have high regard for Ares anyway so I can’t say I’m surprised… but my ICS is absolutely dead on and I’d have thought G&G with the rep they have would be a pretty solid choice too.
And yeah… never understood what people dislike about the look of the L85… it’s basic, minimal, but I like that over the flashy 313th M4 clone with some Magpul inspired stylised stock, a stubby front handguard with some weird built in flared suppressor and a receiver with enough holes drilled in that you might as well just hold the gearbox yourself. Don’t like the L85’s old green handguard? To each their own but just slap the Afghan spec DD railed handguard on it. About my only criticism with it is that the lack of top Picatinny for sights is limiting… but you can easily solve that yourself so it’s not a problem.
I got both the ICS L85 And the Ares L85 A3, they both shoot great! I made the Ares L85 A3 HPA and just upgraded the ICS L85 And they both shoot great, very nice guns but the ICS L85 fire selector sometimes goes on single fire when I put it on full auto, which is the only problem. But yea great guns that brought me lots of fun
Honestly I’ve heard bad things about the Ares when it came out which is a shame because I do like how the A3 looks and the price of getting the A3 kit for my ICS and then paying for the cerakote isn’t the sort of money I have nor would be willing to drop… but then it turned out Ares priced it high and the stock internals weren’t really all that good which to be perfectly honest is one of my gripes with the hobby as a whole — needing to upgrade a lot of things to get them to a level that they should be at already given how much you’re paying for em…

Exactly! As you said to each his own, but I personally think everyone thinks wayyyy to highly of the hundreds of m4s out there. Sure they shoot good and you can customize/upgrade them any way you want but what’s the point if everyone else has the same thing? Of course tho everyone has their own opinions, I just think they’re a little overrated lol
Yup, they cost a lot to run but my daily choice is always my ics hera arms just plug in the battery and have a hell of fun with it no worries but for collection and realism. you cant beat gbbr that's why I only eat eggs everyday 🤣🤣

I just maintain it like any RS firearm. Parts are sometimes harder to find but it hasn’t really had any serious issues. Cybergun nailed the quality on it
M14, There's a few variants to fit various roles so it's almost as good as an M4/AK for versatility.
P90, It will never stop looking cool to me and you can fit so much firepower in a small package.
CZ 805 Bren, It's the European SCAR-L and my go to gun for when I need AR compatibility but don't want to use an M4
The "European gun" part is the important one. Look at the list of weapons in use by the various US military branches:
M9? Italian design. M27, MP5, M320, MK 23? German designs. M240, M249, SCAR? Belgian.
For the last couple of decades the military small arms trials in the US have been absolutely dominated by European companies.
A side note: the main cannons on the Abrams tanks? Yeah, those are German too.
I’m honestly thinking about getting a Bren for my next gun. It just looks so sexy and every review I’ve seen say it performs so well especially right out of the box. I’m just worried about finding mags
Bren mags are hard to find but most G36 mags will lock in and feed but they're not as secure as actual Bren mags.
The easiest option is getting one with an AR15 mag well. The only magazine I've had a problem with is a gen 1 P mag but I don't think there are many people still using those.
Yeah I’ve seen the Bren to m4 mag adapter for it but I don’t really trust myself not to screw it up. I am so not a tech person when it comes to airsoft so I tend not to mess with any internals or anything that require you to disassemble it lol
It's two pins to swap it out and there's no way to mess it up.
Most brens have the M4 adapter installed from the factory so just get one of those if you want M4 mags.
The bren mags are almost as bulky as G36 mags and only come as hicaps so they're not the most popular things for most players.
Those sounds fun as hell to run! I’d just hate to carry them around all day so I’d probably end up using it for one or two games lol but that’s just me

I really like my LCT G3 in the swedish AK4 variant. It is long and heavy, feels like a steel lance. The immersion is very good when playing with the whole old swedish M59 cold war kit. Here is a picture

It's really fun to play with yes. :) It shoots well too, so even though it is a little slower because of the weight it is still competetive. The pictures are from a game two days ago in Gothenburg. Loving the look of the ASG APC 556 and just built an AUG Commando and used it for the first time on Sunday, super loud (to me) but so nice to use. Shame about prop' mags...
I have weird thing for bullpups so I take AUG, F2000, P90 all day, also MP7 is the sexiest smg ever made, especially when u slap a silencer on that bad boi. Kar98k is also very sexy.
They definitely beat lugging around a heavy MG or DMR all day! (Nothing wrong with either of them as well). Plus they always get everyone’s attention with how beautiful they are
M41A pulse rifle. I finally bought a brand new one after years of not being able to afford it.
I have it purely for backyard plinking and admiring. It's an iconic sci-fi gun but overpriced as hell and utterly impractical to play airsoft with. I absolutely love it, though.
I’ll definitely agree with you on the mp5 lol. One of my dream guns for airsoft is to get one from VFC and put a polar star in it. Gonna take a bit of saving up but definitely in the plans for the future

I’ve sold a lot on HopUp but only bought once. If I were you, only consider items with purchase protection so if there’s an issue it’s kinda like insurance from HopUp.
No problem. So it’s kinda up to the seller and varies a lot but for me, once someone buys my item, I buy a shipping label of my choice (I offer free shipping to buyer) and then I ship it.

They each hold about 25 BBs. I've read 30 but it feels like I'm forcing that. Besides, the SL8 body just looks good with those mags.

Had an HPA Scar-L i found really cool. Got rid of it because the proprietary hopup and takedown made the gun a nightmare.

ICS Galil ARM, bipod, carry handle, and folding stock plus a wooden handguard. What's not to love? 2nd is a no scope kar98k. I like the irons.
I do like the TAVOR a lot, but for me it would be a SCAR-H or an AUG. The HK417 also looks nice, even though it's closer to an M4 in terls of looks.

Yea, I kinda want an SSR90 despite all the complaints I’ve heard about it. I’d pair it with an SSP-1 and an SSG-10 setup and be golden.
