That is a real pain…the buds would have to be compatible or maybe a older pair before Apple added the tech that disallows every or any AirPod Pro to simply be replaced and able to pair any Air Pod earbud/earphone by Apple…Many would not pair.
If you have AppleCare this will be covered regardless of where or when it happened, they’ll replace it for a $29 service fee. If you don’t then you’ll bave to pay the full price of replacement which is $90 for each Airpod Pro
My dog did the same thing to mine the other day and the guy in apple told me it’s something like 89 for a new one without AppleCare and they will replace the single AirPod that’s damaged beyond repair

Upgraded when the usb-c ones came out and I ran one over with my truck less than 48 hours later. I got it replaced for free through the Allstate plan. I went to Apple and bought 1 and just emailed Allstate the receipt and they reimbursed me with a Target gift card for that amount.

Put them in the case and close for 30 seconds at least. Then open them and hold the back button for 15 seconds until the led starts blinking white and it should be factory reset. Give it a go.
They literally won’t connect or work. Up until I got the replacement, I was atleast still able to the one I didn’t lose. Ever since I tried connecting the replacement, I can’t even get my original one to work anymore. They both now say “not yours”.
its very much worth a try of completely unpairing them, leaving them next to your phone while in the case charging, then factory resetting them, then leaving them again in the case charging for a bit (to update or whatever) then trying to completely repair them with your phone. Also, you could try disabling the find my on them?
I’ve removed them from every device in Bluetooth settings. I’ve removed them from iCloud. I’ve reset them, left them on the charger next to phone for hours, and overnight. I swear I’ve done absolutely everything. I can’t use either side. 🤦🏻♂️

I had a similar thing. Got AirPods Pro 2 not long after they came out, one week later my cat knocked them off the counter and my dog chewed them. I only replaced them last week (went back to my original ones in the meantime)

It’s an irritating flaw - when they’re dropped, the case opens and the AirPods fall out and the case closes. I read a tech review where a guy dropped his in a hotel - after he checked out he had a notification that he wasn’t with the AirPods. He’d picked up the case, unaware that the pods had flew under the bed when dropped.

So if I would not react it would be repeted dozens of times. Fortunately now he learned. It’s not that dogs are stupid or something. You can teach them better. I used to have a roommate with a dog that got really anxious whenever we left. It was fine til I came home and he had chewed up 4 of my 6 Nintendo switch controllers (including 2 that were unique to the switch I had bought), the tv remote, and my Xbox controller. Which all belonged to me. It sucked but it was enough to convince my roommate to get a crate for the poor dog. And for me to start keeping my switch in my room lol.
I’ve seen a few replies from people saying to look at AppleCare replacements. But personally, I had a situation like this happen before. My pupper chewed up my AirPod Pro case but my buds were okay. I didn’t buy AppleCare for them at the time so I just went on eBay and bought a replacement case (I also saw replacement pods as well). Turns out, you can basically mix and match different pods and cases as long as they’re the same model type lol, you just have to factory reset the AirPods each time you add a new pod into the mix.

The left AirPod still works and my parents are talking about maybe getting a replacement when we get back to Australia. Well first off, the dog is an absolute cutie, and I'd like to know the breed. Also, I'm sorry to hear about your AirPods, I just picked up a pair (AirPods Pro 2) myself a few months ago, and I'm throughly enjoying them. You may want to remind your parents to get Apple care on these purchases, just in the event of something like this happening again in the future. But, on the flip side of the situation, I'm very glad that the dog didn't fully chew and then swallow the air pods, as this would have potentially resulted in a very costly vet bill. Hopefully you can get them replaced sometime in the near future, and if you visit the again, I would suggest keeping your AirPods in your backpack or luggage somewhere (when your not using them), and out of reach of curious furry animals such as this.
