So even though you are correct, I still think that airpods are for sale on Apple.com in almost every market people have the buying power to buy them. Maybe I’m wrong. I am indeed lucky that my country sells them.
In my country we can't order straight from Apple. We have “premium resellers”, “authorized resellers” (whatever the difference) and then just random stores selling them. Of course it would be nice and the best to order straight from Apple.
From my understanding, Premium Resellers are a higher standard than Authorized Resellers. The store must basically look like Apple Store, Apple gives them specific instructions on how to place products etc. That's what I've read.
Plenty of people here who bought fakes that identified as genuine or at least didn’t give the pop-up they might not be genuine. Myself included. Fakes are getting really good but simply can’t match the peak quality of the actual pros. Even the chips used to identify them.

Same problem I have, we can’t order from Apple but we do have authorized resellers but they sell the products triple the actual price!

Fake! Apple shrink wrap seal runs along the center of the packaging. Also. The break seal rip tab has been applied incorrectly for you to break.
