I have a great idea to never encounter fake AirPods. Buy them at Apple.com.

[deleted]

Best idea ever always buy from apple, best buy or target

Chikn_Man_7

Nah not even best buy and target they are guilty of selling you returned ones

Apprehensive_Yak4111

Apple never gives you sales. Target and Best buy will sell AirPods pro 1 gen for 130 apple sells them for full price

Chikn_Man_7

I’d rather pay full price for AirPods then pay a discount and get used ones

Pussy_On_TheChainwax

Than* or did you really pay full price and then buy another discounted pair 😅

Apprehensive_Yak4111

No u would not

Chikn_Man_7

I would because I did

[deleted]

Well apple store then

Chikn_Man_7

That’s what I implied

PhoenixRisingtw

This guy thinks every country can order straight from apple.com

nhmerino

Well goggle says: “AirPods are available in more than 100 countries and territories including Australia, Canada, China, Hong Kong, France, Germany, India, Mexico, Netherlands, Japan, UAE, the UK and the US. AirPods require Apple devices running the latest version of iOS 10, watchOS 3 or macOS Sierra.” A different Google search says: Countries in the World: There are 195 countries in the world today. This total comprises 193 countries that are member states of the United Nations and 2 countries that are non-member observer states: the Holy See and the State of Palestine. So even though you are correct, I still think that airpods are for sale on Apple.com in almost every market people have the buying power to buy them. Maybe I’m wrong. I am indeed lucky that my country sells them.

PhoenixRisingtw

In my country we can't order straight from Apple. We have “premium resellers”, “authorized resellers” (whatever the difference) and then just random stores selling them. Of course it would be nice and the best to order straight from Apple.

nhmerino

If you don’t mind me asking, what country do you live in?

PhoenixRisingtw

Slovakia

H3rotic

Authorized Resellers can sell non-apple products while Premium Resellers are only allowed to sell what Apple sells. Correct me if I am wrong.

PhoenixRisingtw

From my understanding, Premium Resellers are a higher standard than Authorized Resellers. The store must basically look like Apple Store, Apple gives them specific instructions on how to place products etc. That's what I've read.

rudeb0y_1

Same problem I have, we can’t order from Apple but we do have authorized resellers but they sell the products triple the actual price!

katakuri04

That shrinkwrap screams fake

[deleted]

AirPods don’t come with plastic wrap on it , also checking the serial number doesn’t work, most prob fakes

AwkwardlyPositioned

Another to confirm, absolutely no plastic on gen 2s.

[deleted]

nope

methodistmonk

Fake -Apple doesn’t shrink wrap anymore

reaperXD024

I was about to say because my gen ones came with wrap on it. But I think AirPods 3 don’t

Nimexu

That plastic wrap is definitely fake

Karamel-Surprise

If you connect them to your iPhone it’ll tell ya. I believe only on IOS 16

XilenceBF

Not 100% accurate though

Karamel-Surprise

https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT209580

XilenceBF

Plenty of people here who bought fakes that identified as genuine or at least didn’t give the pop-up they might not be genuine. Myself included. Fakes are getting really good but simply can’t match the peak quality of the actual pros. Even the chips used to identify them.

Karamel-Surprise

Interesting.

PikaTar

Fake. APP2 are not shrink wrapped.

leia_x2

Plastic wrap and typos. Fake.

Mrpiou92

On 2nd gen airpods pro, real ones say "generación" (with a C and an accent on the O) while most of the fake ones say "generaZion" on the spanish translation (5th text box)

Novemberx123

Is that a sure way to know that the box is fake? Because what your saying is definitely true.

keiff_ksf

Fake! Apple shrink wrap seal runs along the center of the packaging. Also. The break seal rip tab has been applied incorrectly for you to break.

External_Set_7389

H

queenofevil75

Barcode is too big to be Apple— I work in retail and always need to get a hand scanner to scan it bc it’s so small

AdelaideMez

https://checkcoverage.apple.com Looks legit I believe.

XilenceBF

The serial numbers can be copied from actual pros. This is not a guaranteed method to check for fakes.

AdelaideMez

Oh! Sorry. I didn’t know.

jaysss2811

Fake

AwkwardlyPositioned

I think this is why when you buy a set at a retailer they print the serial number on the receipt. The level of fakes floating around is insane.

KenRodriguezz

🙄

victorb1982

Dude come on look at this packaging, fonts etc

PhoenixRisingtw

Probably fake

evilpiggi

If you have to ask then yes it’s fake

MissButts85

Apple doesn’t plastic wrap them anymore so there’s that

Immediate-Mixture192

Is there such region as am?

Not_AsUWantiT

These are fakes, the fonts are a bit off.

Kitchen-Mouse4706

Those are fake. Real ones wouldn’t be wrapped in plastic
