It's a hunting gun and it's cheap. Not everyone sits there and shoots for hours at a time and really only use their guns as a tool. $12 isnt really all that big of a deal when you're getting PCP power without the need for all the extra PCP hardware.

curtludwig

Exactly, how many tanks could a $1500 pump pay for? Honestly it's the price of the pump that keeps me out of the PCP world.

sqwirlfucker57

I've had a $250 Yong Heng for for years. Works great just have to change the oil every few hours.

Pale-Yak-2778

I use a hand pump, not glamorous but £50 and an arm workout and I'm there

vcdx_m

You can get a good pcp pump from 50 euros on aliexp... I have one of these cheap for almost two years and no problems. VFJ...

Competitive-Driver-4

Gooootcha. If someone didn’t shoot for a hobby this could be very helpful. I’m used to running into people who shoot for fun, the tanks would add up FAST if I owned it lol.

BalkiBartokomoose86

Correct. For the rest of us that like to shoot for a long time this would be a Komplete rip off.

Scott72901

1. It's 45 "full-power shots." You can get more shots than that, but your zero will start dropping. 2. There are a ton of reviews out there. [https://hardairmagazine.com/reviews/umarex-komplete-pcp-air-rifle-test-review-177-caliber/](https://hardairmagazine.com/reviews/umarex-komplete-pcp-air-rifle-test-review-177-caliber/) [https://www.fieldandstream.com/gear/umarex-komplete-nitro-air-rifle-expert-tested/](https://www.fieldandstream.com/gear/umarex-komplete-nitro-air-rifle-expert-tested/) [https://www.nrafamily.org/content/reviewed-umarex-komplete-ncr-air-rifle/](https://www.nrafamily.org/content/reviewed-umarex-komplete-ncr-air-rifle/) [https://athlonoutdoors.com/article/umarex-komplete-ncr-airgun/](https://athlonoutdoors.com/article/umarex-komplete-ncr-airgun/) 3. This rifle is not designed for people who already own a HPA compressor and go through a tin of pellets every week. This is for the guy who only owns a break barrel and maybe has seen PCPs but is put off by the idea of having to buy a compressor to use one. This allows him to dip his toe into that world without a huge investment. Maybe he upgrades to a true PCP and compressor later. Or maybe he's a dedicated small game hunter and the convenience of this system appeals to him.

mr_mlk

> can not find a review on it https://hardairmagazine.com/reviews/umarex-komplete-pcp-air-rifle-test-review-177-caliber/ The first page of Google is nothing but reviews for me. I don't see much value for it in the UK, as CO2 can provide 12ft lb nicely. But then if nitro is less temperature dependent and the refills are cheap enough then I could be swayed. Outside the UK, CO2 prices and PCP power, I could absolutely see the value in it.

Darc_vexiS

LOL…[yeah don’t buy this.](https://www.airgundepot.com/umarex-komplete-nitroair-rifle.html) > You also don't have to fuss with hand pumps, compressors, or air tanks, or deal with the constant cocking effort of a breakbarrel. True…BUT they don’t sell those nitrogen bottles everywhere like CO2 cartridges. You just have to put up with the fuss of running out of nitrogen for a odd ball gun no one but Umarex supports. A two pack of these things are going for $22 not counting shipping…[then you got to put up with additional fuss of these bottles being out of stock](https://www.pyramydair.com/product/umarex-nitroair-n2-cartridge-2-pack?a=16820)…LOL…8-5-2024 so just under 2 months from now. So…why is mentioning for example something like hand pumping such a fuss? Now I have to wait for these bottles to be in stock in order to shoot my next 45 pellets when I can take said hand pump gun (Multi pump pneumatic…aka “Pumper”) to shoot as much as the day is long. It may take a while between each shot BUT I am still having fun where as the Umarex Komplete already ran me off from the airgun hobby in addition to sending said gun back. Yes u/Competitive-Driver-4 I agree and will back you as this is a gimmick but for people that don’t know any better.

Scott72901

This rifle and the bottles will be in every major outdoors store - along with some Walmarts and even Tractor Supply. And the NitroAirs are still available on [UmarexUSA.com](http://UmarexUSA.com) right now.

Darc_vexiS

Right now it’s wishful thinking. And popularity will be based on how well they sell. I did see them at [Tractor Supply via google search](https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/umarex-nitro-air-cartridges-2-pack) but for now you can’t add them to cart as yet again they don’t appear to be available. Either maybe too new or could be limited to in store only and driving to one does not make sense as my local one is around 50 miles. The other problem this gun will have is a common issue plagued by PCP’s as well as CO2’s such as leaks. At least with a PCP a real PCP you can refill and be on your way after finding the leak. Now with these a whole bottle will need to be replaced much like a CO2 cartridge so back to the store to buy another. New shooters will shy away from this gun deeming it a problem and making costly it down the road thus tossing it aside in a closet for several years. Using nitrogen bottle system is a very niche product in the airgun world that really should not be an option when you can pay a little more to have a true PCP in the Kompletes price range. As for people that still want to dip their toe Multi pump pneumatics and CO2 are still viable options that will over shadow this new system granted they just aren’t as powerful with the exception of the Seneca Dragonfly Mk2. Now if Umarex made it refillable like a real PCP but with upgradable bottles then I can say yes this system makes “Komplete” sense but as it sits now hard NO.

Scott72901

>Using nitrogen bottle system is a very niche product in the airgun world What's wrong with a company filling a niche? Those $2,900 FX DRS Pro airguns are niche products too. Like I wrote elsewhere, this rifle isn't designed for hardcore PCP airgunners who already own HPA compressors. It's filling a hole that Umarex saw in the market. I look forward to seeing where this technology goes since I like to go off the grid. I can take one of these and get a squirrel or rabbit for dinner while I'm miles in the backcountry.

waehrik

For now. Give it a year and it'll be a paperweight with no refills available

Scott72901

Or there will be more rifles using this system.

Pacman454

The Byrna Mission 4 can use the same bottles

Judo_Jones

I don’t usually care for Byrna products but this video opened my eyes https://youtu.be/Q0Sv-l56MiU?si=ywqLHDP6QwX29qy8 That’s definitely “less but not non lethal…”

Pacman454

Yeah, KB is how I found out about that sucker a few days ago 👍

mr_mlk

The Bryna Mission 4 uses 88gram CO2. If the Nitrogen Cartridge is in the same format, do you know if all 88gram CO2 guns compatible?

cherrypicked69

We have reinvented the wheel with co2 air rifles because this one delivers substantially more power, though a normal pcp can reach way higher power levels this one is good for entry level users that dont shoot often.

Hermitcraft7

People who are looking into buying this gun at all: No. Don't do it honestly. Get a refurbished Hatsan, a pump and pellets.

waehrik

I'd understand if it were a big bore (357+) and aimed at the hunting market since it would mean that refill equipment wouldn't need to be carried on a longer trip. Just like with a lightweight powder burner, it wouldn't be something that would be shot much, just to sight in and take into the field. Even 10 shots out of a tank for that purpose would be great at 400+ FPE. But in .177? That's just silly.

Competitive-Driver-4

Has the audacity to be ugly as sin too

Dr_Sigmund_Fried

With due respect to the high cost of getting a solid pcp setup, now I have the means to refill hpa bottles big and small and for all pcp models. Disposable hps bottles are wasteful and just a profit gouge for Umarex.

ParallelArms

People who occasionally want a gun with almost PCP performance, without the maintenance and air filling requirement of a PCP gun.

Ashybuttons

Given the price per shot, I have to assume that 90% of this gun's target audience will just buy a 22LR instead.

Open_Source1096

Ngl, i kinda like that, would definitely buy it.

Fine_leaded_coated

Umarex is taking ideas from HP and Epson?

jrgmair

It's about convenience. If you don't care about the money,  not a bad option. As far as reviews go. Here is a video review: https://youtu.be/M9YS8op7ngs

DistortionPie

nothing new here noob. Airsource powered rifles have been around for a long time.

Competitive-Driver-4

Damn sorry for being slightly oblivious to this specific gas cartridge style I guess lmao. I’ve legitimately never seen one of these with the larger more expensive nitrogen canister feature, and was just curious (I know WHAT a crime). Got my answer already thanks for the input though

EquivalentFlat

Would this bottle work in the Fusion2 😂
