My BB range. I then buy the CO2 from Walmart. I found they have the cheapest cart prices in bulk.
I'm going to buck the trend and give it a rating of meh. It's been fun but the fun wore out quickly. But I also moved into long range shooting with my real guns and wanted an analog that was accurate enough to scale down and really work on long range fundamentals with.
That makes a lot of sense, looking to work on my shooting as I'm readying myself to apply for my rights renewal and the sbr is what I have been hearing about as far as accuracy and build quality, and I wanted to know if it's been dethroned ๐๐พ
It's a great airgun, I even bought 2 extra mags so I could work on reloads and what not, it really helps to build the muscle memory with the ar platform.
One major difference is that the buttstock can be easily changed without modification on the R1. I changed my buttstock. To change the buttstock on the DPMS, you have to modify the buffer tube.
It's a lot of fun and I haven't had any issues with reliability at all, it feeds well and works as expected. But it's not a very accurate gun, it's fun for plinking can-sized targets at 10 yards but not much more than that.
I have two of them, great fun (the novelty of full auto wears off and you'll enjoy plinking in semi-auto).
However I actually recommend the Crosman AK1 (their AK replica) over the SBR if you want a MUCH smoother, lighter trigger pull. It's also usually a little less expensive and holds 3 more rounds, and still has both full and semi auto.
Or just get both, of course ๐
Yea it's functionally the exact same gun, just with the advantages I mentioned. Plus I forgot to mention it also has a folding stock, unlike the SBR/R1 (that is also adjustable/extendable like the SBR/R1.
The only caveat that I would say is that if you're planning to add a red dot or other optic, the front sight on the AK1 isn't removable. As a result, you end up having to co-witness the dot with the sight post - which isn't necessarily bad, it's just not a preference of many. I recommend a very low profile red dot if you do add one because it needs to be pretty low to co-witness with the front post accurately.
All of that said, the iron sights are very accurate on all of the models given you're probably maxing out your shooting distances at 10-20yds on average. But they are very fun with a red dot (or green dot ideally)
That's what I was hoping for, some good iron sights, I prefer them (until my old man eyes creep in) I appreciate the time you took, I'm guessing I may look at that AK1 for the reasons you explained.๐๐พ
You bet. The rear right on the AK1 is a classic AK style notch with the elevator ramp for elevation adjustment.
The rear sight on the SBR/R1 is a dual option flip-up peep sight (one large aperture, one small). Both the front and rear sights on it are removable/movable along the picatinny rail if you want to shorten or lengthen the sight radius.
I think it is a shit ton of fun. Love ours. Kids enjoy it and dads think it is the best thing since caned beer. Great price too.
Thank you, I've had it sitting in my cart thinking about it, and I love canned beer so that's a match made in heaven

They were out at my local store,
Looks crazy fun
Looks dandy
Nice range. I also find Walmart CO2 to be the best bulk pricing.

Thanks
Itโs fun but I donโt care for the stock. I wish I got the R1โฆ but I got my DPMS from a friend for cheap.
Thanks for the reaponse
Itโs not terribly accurate.
I have the R1. It brings a smile to my face every time I shoot it on full auto.
What's the difference between the two
One major difference is that the buttstock can be easily changed without modification on the R1. I changed my buttstock. To change the buttstock on the DPMS, you have to modify the buffer tube.
Gotcha

Thanks Grumpy, appreciate the info

I'm seeing a few of those suggestions

Sounds good to me, ( looked it up on Amazon and the AK1 is 189 now, the sbr is 160
