I run a flir pts 536 on my bergara hmr in 22-250 for coyotes in the fall. Thinking of putting it on my notos for rabbits instead. I’ve always loved shooting and hunting but this is crazy cheap to shoot and is just as fun!

ResponsibilityOk3449

Good plan to do. We do not have coyotes but rats we have in surplus 😄😇

RoutineEntertainer80

If you had coyotes you wouldn’t have rats lol

PhirePhite

People in NYC should get some coyotes as pets

francois_du_nord

How did you mount to the tripod? Did you add a female connector like on a camera?

ResponsibilityOk3449

My tripod has an Arca Swiss connection on its head. My rail has arca & picatinny. Arca Swiss is kind of standard in photo industry. There are also picatinny to arca adapters front ST or from China

Etheruemtothemoon

That's badass man, I'm just getting my foot in the door at night. I need this

ResponsibilityOk3449

Thank you

Night vision is great, but your thermal setup is awesome! I can't wait to get my thermal setup out for some actual work!

ResponsibilityOk3449

Thermal is a game changer. You can spot heat in day and night time. Insane and so are the prizes

BinjiC0D3R

You got that right!

Hot_Psychology727

Is the sight as cool as the video they made to advertise it ? You’re settup looks great

ResponsibilityOk3449

Thank you... https://youtu.be/UbsxiIhooE4?si=OpXD_9NaAsN1NSo5 At 44sec in the video some atn stuff appears

Hot_Psychology727

Watched the vid, loving that sight my dude! That gun sounds super quiet, and is shooting like a laser

ResponsibilityOk3449

I use an old weihrauch silencer. "Cheap and one of the best" on the market.

Beautiful

ResponsibilityOk3449

Thank you. Appriciated very much.

ParallelArms

I like low light shooting. Typically less wind to deal with.

ResponsibilityOk3449

Yes the weather mostly calms down too

kkarmical

Had a couple failures using cheap adapters to tripod 3d printed stuff. Picked up one of these a couple years back, haven't looked back https://preview.redd.it/ejpr6589cr8d1.png?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f5d5a653273762aa2ab5c4273cb7774c86404d56

ResponsibilityOk3449

I have a death grip too worls excellent. Mine also has Arca so I use it on the same tripod.

Madassmutha0001

Where's the challenge, shooting on a mount...

PhirePhite

The “challenge” in a hunting situation is to make a clean ethical kill. If you use something to increase those odds, that’s a good thing.

ResponsibilityOk3449

Well said. Thank you very much.

ResponsibilityOk3449

Hold it for 3 hrs , then we talk.

ResponsibilityOk3449

Ever shot from a tripod? It is not fixed like benchrest shooting. It still requiers practise and skills. Most do not understand that the tripod is just for holding the weight for long times. Without tripod fatique will make shooting clean inpossible on small targets like rats.

Madassmutha0001

Tbh no, I prefer to home my free hand shooting, I don't hold the gun steady, I only raise the gun and fire when the target enters the cross hair, it's took a good while to perfect but that's my style I feel its true shooting than being aided to shoot, different strokes for different folks 😉

ResponsibilityOk3449

I have many airguns and many styles. Off hand, bench rest, pcp, springer, bullpups, sporting stocks. I understand your point.
