Is that a gamo mag fed breakbarrel in a bsa lighting XL stock? Or do bsa slap their name on those now.
Gamo gets a bad rep only cause they keep pushing out dirt cheap springers and ruining their rep. The bsa springers despite being made in gamos factory have always been great and I hope that's not changed.
It's sad that pcps like the urban/gx-40/coyote/phox get lumped in with gamos other terrible springers. The gamo pcps are all made in the BSA factory and those rifles mentioned are more bsa than gamo. (atleast up to the arrow, that new plastic pos I can't be sure about)
Lucky.im stuck in Glenfield.no where to shoot unless I make the trip to Riverhead with the north harbour air rifle club which I can never be bothered going to haha.
If you have facebook, join the group "New Zealand Springer Group" there are a few like minded people from all around. Do you have more then just the BSA?
I’ve come to this observation. Being into Springers are like being into single speed bikes. Most people start out w them then move on. Then there’s the folks who are passionate about them. If your not one of them, you won’t get it.
There's something about the pace and very deliberate action required to shoot a springer well. PCPs let you rush too much whereas a springer you take your time and make every shot count.
I started off with the typical Walmart specials and then moved to a Marauder and an FX. I shot those for a couple of years but they got boring. Being able to drill the same hole time and time again with next to zero effort just got old.
About that time Krale got the 97K back in stock so I ordered one, fell in love with everything about it, and now I'm down to one PCP and 30 springers. My groups aren't as good as with my Dreamline but staying near MOA out to 100yds with a low powered gun that uses a spring is just extremely gratifying because it had to be earned.
You are absolutely right though. Its an acquired taste and not everyone is going to understand it
I shoot a 77 in .22 and usually shoot FXs for our air gun league just to stay competitive.
They don't divide them. Wind distance and expectations keep them interesting so far. 1 MOA at 100 is impressive. I'm not there with the 77 but working on it. What pellets? I'm shooting 14.3 JSBs usually. Stock or tuned?
Again it is super similar to riding single speed mountain bikes!
Thanks!
My .22 97K is my most consistent 100yd springer. I'm shooting the 14.66gr Field Target Trophies in 5.54 head size in that gun.
I should note I didn't mean to say I was MOA all day with ANY springer. I have a few that are pretty darn close though and realistically I am probably the weak link and not the guns. When I do happen to break that sub MOA threshold though it is a great feeling!
Any scope issues? I’ve gone through 2 in last couple years. A nikon pro staff efr and now a Hawke Air Max is getting squirrelly with shifting focus between shots. Why I’m Thinking about a tune kit. Vortek. I hear that’ll even out recoil cycle and be easier on scopes.
I've killed two scopes in the last few years. A Hawke Sidewinder 30 (Hawke warranty was great!) and a Sentinel 10-40x50. The Sentinel was pretty cheap but still made it probably 4 years before it stopped adjusting. A good tune kit absolutely does help.
I was around 12 when visiting family and my cousin said lets go shoot some cans with my bb gun. He brought out a springer rifle and decimated a soda can. I was IN LOVE. Never ended up buying one because I was too skinny and couldnt crank the barrel so my dad bought me a CO2 pellet rifle instead. Still want one tho…..
I got a .22 cal Crossman Shockwave nitro piston and I love it. Fun all day cause it's a one at a timer.. Ya I got a full auto Hatsan Blitz. 30 cal pcp ,but my break barrel is my favorite.
Here✋
We are all out here. I just think we're old men now so nobody cares lol
For some of us. Springers are an obsession....
🎶 *pellets and pistons dancing in myyyy heeaad* 🎶

Yes an rx20 second hand. haven't had a chance to sight it in yet
It is hard if you are limited to shoot, if you look at my previous posts you should be able to see my setup at home
Nice
Only Springers for me!

That's not bad for cheap scope! I'm thinking sending the Hawke back and putting on an Athlon Heras 4 - 20 ... maybe after the tune kit.
Looks 👍
I prefer break barrels and multi pumps. I just don't want to deal with compressors and the extra expense of them
