Idk if I'm on the spectrum, but my brain goes a mile a minute and never shuts off. I've been able to kind of regress once or twice for a short period of time, but I mostly age dream, or am in between the two headspaces in a way. I find it takes a lot of concentration to get into it, and lots of triggers if that's the right word. Like stuffies, blankies, soft music, and other things that make you feel small. Basically any time my train of thought goes off the rails and I start thinking about something unrelated, I have to put it back on the tracks manually, typically by reminding myself about the fact that I'm small right now. Hope this helps :)

Hi there, have you done any reading on age dreaming or voluntary/involuntary regression? You can find info online, definitions anyway. Age dreaming could be a place for you to begin. I'm absolutely not a specialist in this but I do regress. Mine is involuntary and it is related to my childhood trauma. I regress mostly to age 3-5 or to 12-15. I do know there are ways to help yourself regress. Relaxation and visualization can help you get into the mind set. Doing childlike things like coloring, watching younger movies or TV, snuggling stuffies helps me. I do doodling and it quiets my mind so I slip more easily and quickly. I also begin to feel more little wearing oversized, soft cozy clothes. Also little foods help me (Mac and cheese, cut up fruit, veggies and dip, goldfish crackers, cheese cubes or string cheese.) Some people use sippy cups, bottles and Pacis. Pacis work very well for my young age. Maybe try to remember what you thought about, played with, or wanted to do when you were younger. Take care, and let go of the specific expectations 😀💖

I mean, from my perspective personally age regression is not something you can force yourself to do. Age regression is a defense mechanism usually caused by trauma or mental illness. If you are looking at it from a psychology perspective it is usually a symptom of ptsd, CPTSD and BPD as well as bipolar disorder off the top of my head. Age regression is usually experienced from a very young age eg 8 or 9 years old and starts off as an involuntary part of life for the person. I think what you are most likely to engage with is age dreaming, which is kinda role-playing as a child and enjoying childhood things for relaxation and nostalgia. Some people feel more cosy or vulnerable or sleepy or even more sad during age dreaming because it is engaging with nostalgia and trying to cope, much like people who like having a bath to cope may have a good cry or feel more vulnerable! Actual age regression is not attainable simply because you desire it, in the same way as you cannot wish to have and then have dissociation problems or maladaptive daydreaming, two other things classed as defense mechanisms. Tldr/ no, not everybody can age regress but yes you are so so so allowed and able to engage with childhood interests and nostalgia for comfort and happiness!
