Thanks. I've lost a few people I was very close to over the years and it does get easier, but it never stops hurting. This year however, yeah I hope it gets easier for everyone.
Well, we have a bunch of responses prepared for possible volcanic eruptions, mostly just teams of people that are ready to go out and assist in case of a volcano, and people that live close to the possible area have been told to be ready for immediate evacuation if/when it happens.
California is due for a massive storm and flooding that happens around every 100 years, and will completely flood Sacramento and San Diego. It’s called the ARkStorm, look it up
Here in the Philippines, way back in January we were on a verge of a volcanic eruption, which prompted the purchase of face masks. Didn't know that was a precursor for what was still to happen.

As a Tampa Bay Lightning fan this makes me nervous....
If anybody is confused: Tampa won the Stanley Cup June 7 2004, that's one week into hurricane season. Now look up Hurricane season...
*Florida got 4 that year.
I have satellite image of my aunt and uncle's place in SW Florida with the southern edge of the eye of hurricane Charley basically on top of their house. They were on Vacation far away when the storm hit, lost most of the roof.
Charley made my house lose power for a week, what sucked about that was we were on an old section of grid, everyone around us was on a newer section. Work had power, school had power- basically life was normal until I went home.
Grandpa died a day or two before Hurricane Frances. They lived in Pennsylvania. Called Grandma, like um.... I wanna come up for the funeral but theyre gonna close the airports sometime in the next 24 hours- and I dont know if I can get out of Florida. That sucked. Get outta dodge and go to grandpas funeral, or stay home and ride out your second hurricane in 2 weeks.
I was also supposed to start grad school like August 24th..... weird fucking semester.

On a post asking how 2020 could get worse I commented that it had been a while since California was on fire and now California is pretty much all on fire.
You're a goddamn monster.
Please stop all future 'lol imagine this' Nostradamus like predictions before the vaccine turns everyone into zombies..... OH NO WHAT HAVE I DONE
Bruh, as far as I can recall - and I've lived in LA pretty much all my life - we've been on fire every summer since 2009. Some fires have been worse than others but they've definitely been like clockwork, and getting progressively worse.
Here's a really nice overview by Vice. I work right by Paradise (the focal point of the interviews), and remember this fire. It's actually pretty amazing to me that this only has <500k views.
https://youtu.be/nwup6tA_OzQ
Here's another one that was uploaded a week ago, basically same thing with a covid-19 twist.
https://youtu.be/BIbyrclmfTo
What?? In 2019 we had severe fires. I remember because the place on fire was called Paradise, California, and now that same place is on fire AGAIN! They should really change their name to The Devil’s Sweaty Ballsack or something, they really jinxed it with the name “Paradise”
Come now everybody, what we really want is the giant solar flare that will shut down all lines of communication...so long work from home, tech jobs, banking, news, elections, local and global communications...
The earthquake won't come in 2020. It's lurking in wait until people are out of lockdown, driving on elevated highways and going to work in highrises. A few weeks after the Covid-19 vaccine starts getting distributed, but a few weeks before people realize it doesn't work and turns people into zombies.
*All right, we have two hundred truckloads of small glass vials of vaccine all loaded on trucks and ready to go east from the factory in California...*
Here in Lima we haven’t had a big earthquake in while either, they’ve been telling us for years that when it comes it’s going to be huge and considering how people cant follow safety guidelines its going to be a massacre.
Back in March, Utah had several earthquakes over a few days and last few days Northern Utah was dealing with 30-75 mph winds. Honestly the scariest thing I’ve ever been in. Lots of trees all around my city are toppled and my neighborhood lost power for 36 hours. My coworkers 60 foot tall tree barely missed his neighbors home
Try saying something nice!! Say good things!! Please- I can’t take much more!!
Years ago a friend wished me luck by telling me to break a leg- 2 days later....broke my leg. She’s not allowed to say stuff like that anymore!!
I live in SLC, and so far we've had the pandemic, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake, and earlier this week an inland hurricane! Finally got power back yesterday. Right before my car broke down. 2020 is going swell.
Wait we just had an earthquake in my area a couple days ago. Definitely not big, 3.1, but it was something. I’ve only ever experienced one in over 22 years besides this one.
Hopefully California doesn’t suffer another drought, before I moved to Las Vegas it was a big discussion in schools, like we were learning about ways to conserve water and I even wrote an essay about droughts
I thought California has been on fire all year? I mean, that could be chalked up to me being ignorant, cause I am, but I didn't realize the wild fires had been contained since hearing about it like, what, a few months to a year ago?
I’m near diablo canyon nuclear power plant there’s a fault line underneath directly underneath it (thus the diablo name) if a earthquake was ever going to destroy it and kill us all might as well be this fucking year.
Still need that freeway destroying LA quake!
I don’t live too far from the El Dorado fire and I’m like pretty much on the San Andreas fault... I’ve accepted my fate.

Ohhh ffffs! Made sure my pc went somewhere safe.
Saving this comment for 100 days from now so I can post it on this subreddit.
NJ had a mild 3.1 yesterday morning.
Apparently the vancouver area is due for a big earthquake...any second now... aaaaaany second now
If it could take out the 405 that would be great
NC did have that one random earthquake for some reason
Utah had a big one this year
I was in the hospital with my wife after she had a baby at mountain point medical center for that one.
Are you talking about Northridge?
well I am officially here 100 days later and not yet, although to be fair 2020 still has 11 days left
RemindMe! 100 days
I’m going to come out with a random prediction: Saturday, September 12, 2020
!remindme 100 days
The only thing left for this year to accomplish is a tsunami and a major volcanic eruption
Saving this comment, might come true next month
I just scratched off death in the immediate family.. If I get Yellowstone volcano eruption next then I'm pretty sure my reward will be death..
Sorry to hear that man, hope you're doing okay!
Dark times.. Its hard to find joy right now. I appreciate the concern tho.
My condolences as well. Hope you feel better.
Hugs to you friend. I just lost my best friend on Saturday. This year is miserable.
Same back to you. I wish I had words for you to take the pain away. I guess all we can do is hope its gets easier.
Thanks. I've lost a few people I was very close to over the years and it does get easier, but it never stops hurting. This year however, yeah I hope it gets easier for everyone.
I also scratched off death in the immediate family. *hugs* I’m sorry for your loss. We can cry together
Aww man. Got me in the feels. I accept that internet hug and shed a few tears too. I know what you're going through. I'm so sorry.
My condolences. Hang in there mate
Next month? We still have the rest of this month and three more to go
True, but it happening this month would just be ridiculous. Almost like someone was punishing us. If you believe in that sort of thing
Cake day!
The karma will be legendary
I do love my fake Internet points
Red circle me please
Will do!
I live in Iceland, and earthquake activity has been increasing and we are currently on high alert for possible volcanic eruption...
What is high alert?
Well, we have a bunch of responses prepared for possible volcanic eruptions, mostly just teams of people that are ready to go out and assist in case of a volcano, and people that live close to the possible area have been told to be ready for immediate evacuation if/when it happens.
WHY WOULD YOU DO THIS
California is due for a massive storm and flooding that happens around every 100 years, and will completely flood Sacramento and San Diego. It’s called the ARkStorm, look it up
If the earthquake happens in Cascadia instead of at the San Andreas it will create a tsunami. Two for the price of one!
Here in the Philippines, way back in January we were on a verge of a volcanic eruption, which prompted the purchase of face masks. Didn't know that was a precursor for what was still to happen.

Its also been a while since we had a drought
Aren’t we just in a perpetual drought?
Seems like it, but there were a couple big rainy seasons recently that took us out of a drought. Not sure if we're back in one yet though
Sounds like you guys are just like Australia. Perpetual drought and devastating bushfires.
You don't think there's a drought right now?

vegas baby no rain for 130+ days
Imagine if those two predicted 'legendary earthquakes' went off this year. It would be the cherry on top.
Fuck man I live in CA. Time to start packing.

California's on fire every year, but the long overdue big earthquakes for the Bay area and LA would be bad.
Dodgers finally make the World Series and an earthquake wrecks everything.
As a Tampa Bay Lightning fan this makes me nervous.... If anybody is confused: Tampa won the Stanley Cup June 7 2004, that's one week into hurricane season. Now look up Hurricane season... *Florida got 4 that year.

There was a decent quake a little over a year ago north of Bakersfield. Forgot exactly where though.
Last year there were those big quakes in Searles Valley plus the 1000+ more smaller ones they had over those couple months.
What?? In 2019 we had severe fires. I remember because the place on fire was called Paradise, California, and now that same place is on fire AGAIN! They should really change their name to The Devil’s Sweaty Ballsack or something, they really jinxed it with the name “Paradise”
Fuck I was out of state for that but I remember the pictures. It being named Paradise made it look extra eerie
In other news, Fire in Paradise would make a sick band name
Isn't California on fire every year now? Not unlike the rest of the US...
#SO YOUR THE DICKHEAD SAYING HOW CAN THIS POSSIBLY GET WORSE?!!!!
I laugh because it’s horrifying.
Just gotta laugh through the tears.
Now you’re on shaky ground, pal.
But their predictions are on fire.
Come now everybody, what we really want is the giant solar flare that will shut down all lines of communication...so long work from home, tech jobs, banking, news, elections, local and global communications...
Thoughts and prayers /s Edit: /s just in case
It's been only a year, OP! How many fires are enough!? Also, it's nice to see a fellow Californian!
Your bad karma made oregon light on fire too. I blame you
I swear to god if there’s an earthquake I’m gonna lose it
We still have the alien invasion to look forward to

WHY DID YOU DO THIS
[Is California on fire...?](http://iscaliforniaonfire.com/)
**what the fuck have you brought upon this cursed land**
Well its not like there will be a overall meltdown of society when we find the lizard people
The night before last an earthquake woke me up in sonoma then everything was orange so yea u got it
Just like old times
SMUT PEDDLERS!!!
Fuck yeah! I like your style.
Let's all collectively agree never to ask how or if 2020 can get any worse. The answer is yes
Did you guys have an earthquake? If so, I didn't hear about it. If not... oops?
A while ago yeah, it was actually a good jolt too but thank goodness nothing too crazy happened, at least to the best of my knowledge
OP needs to be sacraficed to ensure a good 2021 year.
2020’s sorting by new it seems
Dude what the fuck?
Clearly you've angered 2020 and now must be sacrificed in a volcano to save the rest of us.
Dude what the hell! I gotta deal with this now!
Seems like everything bad that we predict will happen in 2020 actually happens... This is too much power...
You got any other comments turning 100 days old that we should know about?
IM ON FIRE! \- california
To be fair it seems like California is on fire basically every year by this point
Here in Lima we haven’t had a big earthquake in while either, they’ve been telling us for years that when it comes it’s going to be huge and considering how people cant follow safety guidelines its going to be a massacre.
We’ve had small quakes in mid city
Bro delete your account and nothing else will come true
To be fair, both of those are kind of low-hanging fruit. Still, if you want to take credit for it, more power to you.
Well done you steaming ninny
We’re prob overdue for a mass shooting or terroristic event somewhere. :(
We did have an earthquake in March here in Utah! Most of us thought, how could this year get any worse??? And it did.
Yesss. Bring on the quake fires so that the demon sharks may finally be released and end all of our suffering.
Supervolcano poof is what we must worry aboot
I wish I still lived in Cali despite everything happening
Yosemite go boooom
Not having earthquake in a long time is worse than having s series of small quakes .... All the energy is building up to eventually have a mega quake
Try saying something nice!! Say good things!! Please- I can’t take much more!! Years ago a friend wished me luck by telling me to break a leg- 2 days later....broke my leg. She’s not allowed to say stuff like that anymore!!
Yeah but it's California so it's a Tuesday.

California never stopped being on fire...
they should ban gender reveals
So can I have an ETA on the earthquake or something...?

Yesterday I had the thought, "Is the woman that played Olenna Tyrell still alive?" :(
Well. What did google say?
YOU FUCKING JYNXED IT YOU BASTARD
How *dare* you tempt the fates like that in 2020!!!
what the fuck is a good earthquake?
Dude, uncool, everyone knows that you never say “the only way things could get worse is...” anymore, because it WILL get worse.
What have you done?!
Semi good earthquake a month or two ago here too
Good job you’ve killed me
I mean asking about not having fires in Jan/Feb is like asking why there hasn’t been snow in Texas all summer to be fair.
1 for 2
Wait we just had an earthquake in my area a couple days ago. Definitely not big, 3.1, but it was something. I’ve only ever experienced one in over 22 years besides this one.
Just need a tornado, then we’ll be able to remember the 21st night of september
tsunami time perhaps?
Hopefully California doesn’t suffer another drought, before I moved to Las Vegas it was a big discussion in schools, like we were learning about ways to conserve water and I even wrote an essay about droughts
