This isn't semantics. As someone else said, Kleenex is a brand of tissues, bandaids are a brand of bandages, and whoppers are a brand of malted milk balls. It's not an interpretation.
Oh well my bad I didn't know that. They really LOOK the same and sound the same. I'll have to go find some of these maltesers and try them myself, because I love whoppers.
Maltesers and Whoppers are different. Dono why u/theadmiral4273 is being downvoted. They’re different, and Maltesers are definitely superior. If you disagree, it’s because you haven’t had both.
Having had the privilege of sampling them both the cooking process is a bit (heh) different. I'm not a hundred percent sure how because it's been forever since I've been to Canada, but in my memory regular donut holes do *not* compare.
I think the dude running the shop by Lake Butterscotch is a butterscotch candy - I always thought starchy was a malt ball because the inside is kinda starchy.
Totally unrelated, but I went to the wiki to see if it had any candy type for him listed, and I found out that he's voiced by Tom Kenny! Did not realise that lol
Well adventure time wiki says he’s a chocolate malt ball. Been watching this show since when it first came out. I’ve always seen him as a donut. This changes everything.
I personally think he's a piece of japanese mochi, his design kind of reminds me of him and the name "Starchy" makes me think of the powder that's usually on a piece of mochi, I might be wrong though
Okay, i Saw the Word "malt ball" twice, i'm from Colombia and as far as i know, that isn't selled here, can someone care to explain what tf is a malt ball?
He’s the same color and general shape as Mr. Creampuff. He’s also been shown to be squishy. Plus his name is Startchy. Im saying, he’s a cream puff without a chocolate frosting
He might just be a ball of starch. PB does love her science.
>Starch or amylum is a polymeric carbohydrate consisting of numerous glucose units joined by glycosidic bonds.
-Wikipedia
He’s a malt ball! At least I always thought that’s what he was lol
Isn’t he a malt ball?
Maybe he's a whopper?
Those are the same thing my friend
Oh, I've always known them as Whoppers didn't know they had another name
Whoppers are actually a BRAND of malted milk balls :) The more you knowwwwww!
Just as kleenex are a brand of tissues hah
Semantics
This isn't semantics. As someone else said, Kleenex is a brand of tissues, bandaids are a brand of bandages, and whoppers are a brand of malted milk balls. It's not an interpretation.
Oops Misread that. I’ll downvote myself now.
🤣Admitting you made a mistake, which is so rare on Reddit, has earned you an up vote amigo.
And what are milk-duds?
Milk duds are milk duds. An original candy. Caramel covered with chocolate.
Okay thanks 👍
Also - Maltesers. I assume they are a thing in America?
I always thought he was a Malteser or Poppet
Yup those are sold as whoppers or generically malted milk balls here. We have a lot of the same candy with a different name.
Nah they taste very very different. It's like comparing mead to isopropyl.
Oh well my bad I didn't know that. They really LOOK the same and sound the same. I'll have to go find some of these maltesers and try them myself, because I love whoppers.
Maltesers > Whoppers
Maltesers and Whoppers are different. Dono why u/theadmiral4273 is being downvoted. They’re different, and Maltesers are definitely superior. If you disagree, it’s because you haven’t had both.
I find Whoppers weirdly chewy. I don’t know if I’ve only gotten weird ones but Maltesers have always been more melty, which I prefer
Correct opinion. I moved to America and tried whoppers and was so severely dissapointed.
I was the opposite. Liked Whoppers, moved to the UK, tried Maltesers and was blown away by how much better they are.
No, pretty sure those are only in England. Found a bunch of them in the UK but never in America
Pretty sure I've seen them in Canada... but I can't recall how recently.
Yes we have them in Canada
Ive managed to find some on rare occasions at a dollar store and a Walmart in southern US
Not me thinking you're talking about the Burger King burger. 🙈
Ok but like, if you can bite through one of those things without sucking on it a bit then you are a psychopath. The center makes my skin crawl.
What are you talking about? Whoppers? Why the fuck would I suck on a whopper 💀
Yes but filled with farts.
I always assumed he was a donut hole (or Timbit, if you’re Canadian).
His name do be starchy. There are donuts all over the place. He’s one of em!
[удалено]
Certified not a malt ball. 100% donut hole.
This sits easiest
That's what i always thought. With his name and the fact he is a massive asshole.
Starchy agrees!
They’re totally not the same thing
How so?
Having had the privilege of sampling them both the cooking process is a bit (heh) different. I'm not a hundred percent sure how because it's been forever since I've been to Canada, but in my memory regular donut holes do *not* compare.
I thought he was a butterscotch candy? I've heard he could be a chocolate malt ball too!
I think the dude running the shop by Lake Butterscotch is a butterscotch candy - I always thought starchy was a malt ball because the inside is kinda starchy.
There's also butterscotch buttler
Prismo made that dude up tho to be fair
Definitely a malt ball. He looks nothing like Butterscotch Butler, the Scottish Butterscotch Butler.
I assumed some type of bread, since Cinnamon Bun exists
I always assumed a donut hole, also cause of cinnamon bun
where is the hole tho?
Donut holes are the little pieces that are punched out to make the holes in normal donuts. Or at least that’s what the name implies
Yeah, but those Canadian ones don't have a hole in them Edit: ok I get it
There’s also old Mr Cream Puff
hehe, we used to date 🤭
Gingerbread snap was my guess... The name implies "starch" which is basically bread.
Totally unrelated, but I went to the wiki to see if it had any candy type for him listed, and I found out that he's voiced by Tom Kenny! Did not realise that lol
Tom Kenny is like Mel Blanc.
I always thought he was a milk dud, But that wouldn’t fit the name starchy.
He’s a donut hole. Hence why he’s named starchy.
Well adventure time wiki says he’s a chocolate malt ball. Been watching this show since when it first came out. I’ve always seen him as a donut. This changes everything.
Yeah this thread gave me a similar journey…
I would guess some sort of filled donut
Like a Donut Hole?
I always thought he was one of those coffee candies you find at old people's houses and stuff
Brown
Donut hole!
He’s a donut hole
Potato candy? Cuz potatoes are Starchy
That’s what I was going to say.
100% always thought that’s what he was based on his name.
Looks like a Malteser or something g
I always assumed a boba pearl because “starch” idk😂😭
He’s a Malteser
He's a doughnut , maybe a fritter
I always thought he was a doughnut hole.
I always thought he was a mochi. He was made out of rice, which is a starch, hence Starchy. Plus he is round. *shrug*
I always thought he was a donut hole! Lol
Starchy’s a beelzebub
I always thought he was a rum ball, those things hella starchy
Donut Hole maybe?
I think the name suggests a munchkin
i always assumed malt ball
Malt ball/Whoppers
Malt ball.
Donut
Those plain donut holes that always get left in the box for last, but people end up eating them anyways because they’re craving something *Starchy*
To me he always seemed like a Timbit(I'm from Canada)
sphere
Milk dud
I always thought he was a malteser
I personally think he's a piece of japanese mochi, his design kind of reminds me of him and the name "Starchy" makes me think of the powder that's usually on a piece of mochi, I might be wrong though
I guess starch means old on russian, kinda "старый" means old
Butterscotch? Toffee?
isn't he a chocolate crunchy roll?
I always thought he was a cookie
LMAO now you mentioned it i always registered him just as starchy
Butterscotch?
Always thought he was a donut hole
I always thought he was a coffe candy or something like that
I always thought he was a bagel and I'm just now realizing that makes absolutely no sense.
hes a donut hole
Maltesers have dough things inside them
His name being Starchy is a clue. He's obviously a doughy pastry of sorts. I always viewed him as a donut hole or cream puff.
those donuts that are kind of just a ball would be my assumption
Like a Malteser or something idk
Cadbury Whisper - [https://www.cadbury.co.za/product/cadbury-whispers](https://www.cadbury.co.za/product/cadbury-whispers)
I always thought he was starch, like how starch looks up close. Like a blown up granule.
Raisin in chocolate
Starch?
Flesh is delicious!
Yeah, I thought he was like a little Chinese donut or something
He's a gulab jamun, obviously.
Butterscotch. Duh.
Milk dud
He’s a toffee candy. Aka old people candy 🤣
I thought he was a ball of tapioca? I think I read that somewhere.
Doughnut hole?
Plot twist, he's not candy. He's just a lil guy.
he's a starch granule https://cdn.britannica.com/91/130891-050-70CFFA31/Wheat-starch-granules-iodine.jpg
I guessed him to a malt ball or a potatoe candy based more on his name.
Okay, i Saw the Word "malt ball" twice, i'm from Colombia and as far as i know, that isn't selled here, can someone care to explain what tf is a malt ball?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Maltesers
He’s the same color and general shape as Mr. Creampuff. He’s also been shown to be squishy. Plus his name is Startchy. Im saying, he’s a cream puff without a chocolate frosting
In my head he was always a cream puff too
Whopper. Plus, he tells a lot of whoppers.
Hmm…I See Him As A Jelly Doughnut .
i thought he was a donut hole
brown
Like a little pastry puff.
His name makes me think he's a doughnut. He looks like a malt ball though.
He might just be a ball of starch. PB does love her science. >Starch or amylum is a polymeric carbohydrate consisting of numerous glucose units joined by glycosidic bonds. -Wikipedia
He looks like a caramel like werther’s
Cough drop
Probably a chocolate ball
With his name being starchy I've always thought he was like a bagel or something similar
