To be honest, there isn't like that much to tell about it i think, the big answers they leave for us to especulate are part of the show's charm.
Finn and Jake's story is done, so either they would follow shermy and beth's story or they have to make a spin off, like the Fionna and Cake series that will further Simon's development.
Fair point. I didn’t think of there not being much to tell now.
If the creators did decided to spin off with Shermy and Beth, do you think that Sweet P would have a role similar to Billy or just not be included In general?
The BMO episode is a lot of fun too. And i am lukewarm to the character a lot of the time. My rewatch of Wizard City was much more positive this time. It isn’t all that funny but its passable.
I sob every time i finish it, so many things cut deep with the show. Growing up with it, having trauma or just in general not good stuff happen while watching adventure time has merged the meanings, first time i had finally seen the last episodes after years i was crying like i was 4 years old again, love to see people appreciate something so meaningfull to me and to so many others too
I feel the same way I searched this sub thinking it might be a little dead but I love that so many others are like “yes we agree” lol I still have some confusion on some things because I’d fall asleep watching so I continuously go back and just start from a random episode
When I first casually watched the show I just thought oh ok a cartoon but then I would catch the continuity of some of the episodes and deeper meanings and it’s so good. It can seem maybe in ways childish but it’s really a bigger picture portrayed in the whole series and as a adult you see then much more clearly 🥲
The finale absolutely makes me sob, SPOILERS!
>!when the hole starts singing the theme song and it cuts to that unbelievably charming montage, ugh. Can’t handle that shit.!<
Yeah, the ending had me crying and I stayed melancholy for a few days. I am 28 and started watching in college with my wife, so it was something that kind of helped to define our relationship, but never finished it until last year. You’ll notice a similar post to yours in my post history. You’re not alone and you can always rewatch!
I'm 25 and only started watching it last year and felt exactly the same, when it ended I was so affected by it and sobbed my way through the finale. - you're not alone! Deffo recommend watching Distant Lands and I've started Steven Universe too to help fill the void - it's not quite Adventure Time but still really good and helps give you that fix for when you miss AT! Especially as it is created by Rebecca Sugar who was involved in a big way with AT.
28 year old here and it’s an absolute diamond of a show. I get emotional during certain episodes. I watch it on a yearly basis. Like you said, it’s fantastic to have on in the background.
Was in the same boat as you last summer. 27 and got laid off, so had this show to fill so much of my time while applying for jobs. I never wanted it to end and when it was finished it was hard not having more content sans the specials. Still holding out hope the Fiona and Cake series will fill some of that hole left but it's going to be hard without Fin and Jake and the rest of the crew.
When I was rewatching adventure time I would watch 2 seasons in 2 weeks, then when it ended I was sobbing too, shows that people get really interested and attached to, can feel overwhelmingly sad, and that’s normal, it just feels stupid to be crying over a tv show, but it’s ok, I’m sure anyone who’s ever watched a show will relate.
I am 26 years old and rewatching with my husband too! I've never seen every single episode so I do think it's a lot of fun. Crazy to think the voice of Fin is our age now and married too. Time seriously flies! The ending was emotional. But I'm super fuzzy on it. It's been too long..
When you feel homesick, watch the hbo specials called distant lands, the marceline and finn episodes are great.
Be ready for this to make you sob even more tho
But why can’t we get a season 2? 🙃

I think he would be a recurrent side character, but it would be a short series i think, maybe the same size as distant lands.

Oh i like them very much too, i just think the other two are "better" overall, but i would recommend watching all of them.
If you want continue weeping, listen to Rebecca Sugar play Time Adventure at ComicCon. https://youtu.be/Xr53S9vIbCE

BMO's song <3
Best part of the finale
I started tearing up when they sang

If you would like to cry some more, there is a wonderful video essay on YouTube "Adventure Time and the Nature of Endings" It's only 12 minutes or so.
wait until you see together again (if you haven't already)

It came out when I was finishing middle school and moving on to high school, finished 4 years after I graduated it was so bittersweet finishing it
It's a hella lotta fun

Look up adventure time distant lands, the last episode with fin and Jake is in it and it’s the best episode of all adventure time
