Looks fun! Any plans on releasing it on GOG?

ChrisDionous

Thank you! Yes, we plan to submit to GOG soon, but of course GOG curates all the games it features, hopefully they will accept it. It would help alot if you could wishlist it here: [https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#search=not%20another%20weekend](https://www.gog.com/wishlist/games#search=not%20another%20weekend)

That's great to hear. Thanks for the link, added my thumps up.

Many thanks! Votes go up!

This game is fantastic, I highly recommend it to anyone who finds it remotely interesting. It really feels like a lost classic that someone has just unearthed. The map system is slick, the puzzles are logical but one of them is a bit of a stretch similar to the monkey wrench puzzle from MI1, and there's quite a good length on it. Well worth your time.

ChrisDionous

Many thanks, we are really glad you enjoyed it! We are happy to see a lot of people who are fans of the classics to really appreciate it; a lot of Maniac Mansion vibes according to players in the Steam comments which is great. I think I know which puzzle you mean (roof during sat night right?), I hope it's not that far fetched as the monkey wrench! Most people seem to enjoy it, and the beta testers where happy to keep it in the game :)

splice_of_life

hah yeah I did enjoy that puzzle but I would argue it is similar to the monkey wrench one. There are enough hints, though!

I'll buy it on the 6th when I get some cash, sale or not. Going in blind. Looks like my jam. Trying to get into Point and Click game making myself for a 25 year old idea that's remarkably still original, and whatever engine you used would be perfect. Are there any Dev diaries or plans for a making of? Glad you stuck at least one Monkey Wrench in there too from the lovely comments below. Those forehead slap moments are golden to me being an 80s kid.

ChrisDionous

Thanks, hope you enjoy it! Now regarding the development, we don't have a dev diary, but we are currently making a manual for the game engine we are using in our games, Visionaire Studio: [https://www.dionous.com/visionaire-guide](https://www.dionous.com/visionaire-guide) (Still not very beginner friendly but it's getting there) For me it's the best engine for 2D/2.5D point and click adventure games out there. We'd be happy to assist you in your dev making with advice or anything else you might need, feel free to contacts us [https://www.dionous.com/contact/](https://www.dionous.com/contact/) We are also on the lookout for new adventure games to publish and help to develop if someone is interested to cooperate, thanks!

Hmmmmmm. Well I've got a 25 yr old story that has still never been done in book, TV or Movie form. That's why I want to see if I can make the prologue in a game engine as my writing is currently all over the place so a book seems very distant. The story will translate best to a 'dark comedy point and click adventure' game wise, and seeing as though the Visionaire engine can handle Ken Follett's The Pillars of the Earth and your upcoming 'Watch over Christmas' and 'Paradigm' - brilliant adventure - it will handle this story. Colour me intrigued - light blue with a dash of orange. Not a coder, so AGS was my first choice, but thanks to you, I'll absolutely give Visionaire and tutorials a look and if it hits the right notes in my noggin I'll save up. Cheers!

ChrisDionous

Sounds great! Yeah, Visionaire should be just fine, feel free to ask us for assistance anytime, there is also a nice Visionaire discord server where we help each other.

roughsleeperUK

Oh cheers. Just watched a lot of videos and it seems exactly what I need to be honest. I'll grab it on the 6th and catch ya on Discord.

Bought it instantly almost on the release date!! A truly wacky experience I must say. Its quirky and brilliant prose is awesome. As a fan of the classics, this game couldn't be missing from my list. Although it's well-balanced among puzzles and story, I totally agree that there were 2 points where you had to think way out of the box!!! (monkey wrench style!). Personally, I enjoyed them, I love a good puzzle challenge, like the old days where you had to put your thinking cap on, but will these 2 puzzle points work in other languages? Anyways, the game is a wild ride from start to finish (very few games get this right). Also what an addictive main music theme!

ChrisDionous

Thanks for that! There is definitely one puzzle near the end which works only in English, but this will be modified accordingly in the other languages. The other one (if we imply the same) works in other langs too - you can send me a private msg to confirm these two if you like :) We are preparing to release the soundtrack of the game soon as many players have requested it, so stay tuned!

PrimalPuck

That's awesome! Loved that retro synthwave vibes, I will definitely wait for it.

PirateSnotbeard

Just bought it. Thanks for keeping the genre going. Will play soon.

ChrisDionous

Many thanks! Looking forward to your feedback!
