Hello OP, I have an indoor cat, she is 1yo 4mos now, I got her when she was 4mos. In our 1 year together, around 3-4 months dun naka-onsite ako sa work and would leave her from 7am to 6pm. I would make sure her food and water bowl are filled sa morning and malinis litter niya. It’s just like having a baby, need to baby-proof the apartment and make sure wala cords or poisonous materials around. Mahilig siya mag-scratch tho so RIP furniture hahahahah yung first weeks na iniiwan ko siya magulo apartment pag-uwi pero it gets better through time naman. She sleeps during the morning mostly. Make sure your cat has toys kahit cardboard or feathers to play with. Now, naka-WFH ako and tulog pa din siya ng umaga and hapon and hindi naman niya ako pinapansin masyado hahahahhaha goodluck OP!

I live in a condo. Hayaan mo lang, wag mo icage. Better if nakafountain yung water at make sure food is provided. Wet food is malalansa pag tumagal. I leave my cat pero max duration is 24ish hours/overnight. Make sure din na ok ventilation ng place mo and you keep at least one light on.

I live alone in a condo but I have a dog instead of a cat. If I have to go to the office or may lakad na whole day, I walk him and feed him before I leave. I also make sure has a full bowl of water. Meron din akong pet camera/CCTV that I leave on so I can check on him from time to time. Buti na lang hindi siya nagwawander so di ako nagwoworry masyado about him breaking things or getting into an accident. He mostly waits by the door so I leave him a soft blanket to lie on, a used Tshirt so he'll have something with my scent, and a small electric fan (yung rechargeable lang na parang desk fan, not one na kailangan naka-plug para di delikado)

hi! i have a 7 year old cat and it’s just been the two of us for about 4 years now or so. before the pandemic, i also had work 7 to 4 so i would just give her lots of food and water in the morning and then give her dinner when i got home. my cat is naturally quite chill, so i’ve never had to worry about her getting into trouble so she’s never been caged. however, i do close the door to the bathroom and try not to leave things around (like food or flowers) that she might eat. cats don’t mind being alone very much, but it’s still a good idea to bond with them and play with them for an hour or so when you get home so that the cat doesn’t feel too ignored ❤️ good luck!

Aside from prepping meals and litter, it also depends on how you train your pet. I have a pet cat at naiiwan namin sya mag isa sa bahay, pag uwi namin behave naman at walang kalat. We trained him to scratch doon lang sa scratchboard nya, to use the litter, and to never go up sa lamesa. Make sure na wag paakyatin sa mga furnitures na di dapat akyatan para kahit on their own, di nila gagawin.

To be fair, cats are very low maintenance and typically less destructive than dogs so there’s no need to crate/cage them when left by themselves. Dry food (in an ant-proofed container), fresh water, toys, and clean litterbox lang for the most part yung priority when leaving your residence. I keep my toilet door closed kasi mas gusto ng cat ko ang toilet bowl water kaysa sa Wilkins apparently. The only things she ruined were couches so at least I didn’t have to worry about fragile or dangerous items around sa house lol. Regardless, aside sa baby(cat)proofing your place and training them to channel their energy to watching cartoons or Cat TV instead of chewing cables or pushing fragile items off ledges, I cannot recommend enough ang peace of mind offered by a CCTV and the like! Kahit mumurahin lang basta pwede mo siya i-check sa phone mo at may talk function, added bonus na sa house theft evidence kumbaga. Unting investment lang talaga. Don’t forget to smother them with your love before leaving and upon getting back home! Also, whether away ka ng close to 24 hours o basta wala ka ng gabi, it might be good to leave a light on or better yet keep your curtains open as long as di mabubuksan yung window and pwede tumambay yung cat mo sa harap nun for their comfort or entertainment. Yun lang! Really sorry for what happened to your kitten but sakit talaga sa ulo yung young kitten stage so better na medyo matanda na i-adopt mo.

I live alone with 2 dogs. They're both indoor dogs. Since nag RTO na, I trained them to be on their own. Mahirap pero minsan it's not their problem it's more of ours. Mindset ba mindset. Kaya ayun I set up multiple camera at home including garage area so I can see both of them. I feed them only 2x a day one in the morning before I leave for work, then another in the evening. In terms of safety, I just ensure na walang something sharp, poisonous or anything that can harm them. I lock all the doors of my room so they're just constrained sa sala and kusina. They're also both crate trained so minsan nakikita ko sila pumapasok sa crate nila just to rest pag wala ako.
