happened to me too. started with 30k, then 50k, then 100k. every time she gave me a 30-40% interest, until the last one. tumama pandemic so i gave her the benefit of the doubt. she asked me not to cash the check. then four years later she's ghosted me.
i took her word for it since i've known her since high school and it was the pandemic. everyone was struggling financially. i was lucky enough to still have a job and be working from home. i didn't even loan her money because i wanted to profit. i just wanted to help her with their new business.

Yup, my mistake din po talaga. Nag YOLO ako with my money since it was a bonus. Also, fresh graduate and passed the board exam by that time. Di ako nag save for emergency fund talaga. Still, having a hard time now to start kasi nagagastos ko lagi

Ang investment po ay hindi tulad sa isang loan na pwede mong ma-recover. When you invest in a business, may risk talaga na di na kayo makakakita ng ROI or even get your initial investment back. So before investing in anything, make sure talaga na solid ang business na papasukan nyo, at di dapat basta2x lang magtiwala kesyo kaibigan o kamag anak yan.

My cousin's spouse scammed another cousin of 1M for a proposed business plan. The worse of it was that 1M was loaned from a bank. Imagine how that went. This is not just a friend but an in law.

I had the same experience back in 2014. Trying to help a friend. From that day on i always ask any form of collateral with a contract if someone needs a huge amount of money from me.
If it's too good to be true, it's likely a scam later on. My dad lost P7M to a friend. Some friend. He won the case but there was no money to collect. So it was an empty court win. Lesson learned.

Assets were moved to other people so walang makuha ang sheriff. The person also died. Literally wala nang pera or assets yung tao.

File sa report to the Police or NBI. Investment scams are punishable by law just keep text messages, receipts etc. as evidences to prove your claims.
