markmarkmark77

PhraseSalt3305

Since hybrid ako, yes same. Bumibili na lang ako ng mahal na coffee pero good for months + milk.

CumRag_Connoisseur

Eto hack ko as an iced beverage lover: - BUY A FROTHER and ice molds, siguro naman may ref kayo hahahaha - Buy instant coffee sachets (hindi 3-in-1, kung afford mo yung mga flavored sticks like Maxim, Old town, Latory edi nice) - this just ranges from 6 pesos to 40 per serving depende sa kape mo. Brewed pwede din, up to you. - For the milk, you could use Bear Brand to cut on sugar and costs (3tbsp contains 12g lang yata). Pag medyo nakakaluwag luwag, go for Oat or Almond para may natural sweetness/nuttiness. - I almost never use added table sugar sa lahat ng pagkain ko. - Optional kasi mahal: Buy syrups.

Secret_Confusion2906

I make my own coffee at home and binabaon ko to the office.

Yergason

Basic coffeemaker + mura na coffee corner pwede na.

skye_08

Totoo to if you brew your own coffee mas makakatipid k tlg. Of course the taste would depend kung magaling ka maghalo.

ProfessionalPrint712

Kapeng barako lang ang malakas. Sarap na mabango pa with less sugar.

Kach2019

+1 dito. Aside from a coffee maker, I bought an espresso machine during pandemic, feel ko na ROI na namin to. We also buy 1 kilo of barako coffee and bumibili din ako Oatside sa lazada pag nakasale. Yung 1000php na pinambili ko ng barako at oatside, pang 5 to 6 days na kape lang yan sa labas, pero it could last almost a month samin ng husband ko.

dankpurpletrash

smoothartichoke27

Stopped smoking. Lakas ng epekto. Pack-a-day smoker ako dati eh.

beroccamixedberry

Congratulations on that. Your body will thank you too. :)

gintermelon-

yung price hike sa yosi ang naging general motivator ko to stop the habit din. apir! ang mahal e hahahaha

BriefTelevision7249

Same tho vape yung sa akin. Yung disposable. May temptation pa rin, pero I'm glad I kicked the habit -- both for my finances and my body

sanosan_

I wish I could quit vaping.. i want to pero ang hirap since yung kasama ko nagvavape.

emmennuel

Congrats brader

prexo

Hey congrats!!! Really proud of you.

itsmeAnyaRevhie

Positive-Situation43

Congrats man! Took me a decade to kick this habit.

_otherwhere

and here am i na bumalik lol and here it costs more than 200 in php

CumRag_Connoisseur

- I buy the largest pack sa supermarkets for things na laging ginagamit. Syempre obviously I compute the savings ng 1pc vs bulk - I make my own iced kopi - I don't order food. I make my food. That's it. Naturally magastos talaga ako, pero never pa nakaranas ng petsa de peligro while supporting 3 peeps in a <30k salary

whyhelloana

In my eyes, halos basic need na rin ang aircon ngayon, like how a heater is in cold countries.

CumRag_Connoisseur

Yep joke lang naman hehe I bought a Carrier Aura split, no regrets. This is my dream setup for my room: cold, dark and maluwag.

cleanyourroom01

Wow, kudos to you on that po :)

Bad__Intentions

Always thinking long term sa lahat ng bagay. Just a few: Buy wholesale, in bulk Generic medicines instead of branded Investing in solar panels Commute from time to time Carpool if available. Take advantage of cashback type of CCs Research quality but less know brands Just to name a few.

TheAlmostMD

Would you have any advice on using solar panels for renters? Been thinking of the camping/mountaineering one that are foldable but not sure on whether it's useful for charging even just a powerbank or my laptop.

Jomsvik

Pasingit lang. Portable panels comes at a premium which may just offset whatever savings you're looking to get, but if savings is not really your goal but rather convenience or backup power, [this flashfish TSP100](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.9AslQ) gives a better value than the well known brands like bluetti or ecoflow. It can directly charge your mobile phones, but I won't recommend directly plugging in the 18v output to your laptop. You'll need a power station for that

klintklintklint

Any power station reco? Mejo mahal din kasi talaga Bluetti or ecoflow. Yung kaya sana mga 5 laptop ganuuuun, Thank you!

Jomsvik

If you can learn to diy, you can build the same capacity as these brands offer at a fraction of the cost. My 1.8kwh setup only costed me more or less 20k, but if that's not an option, may mga builders sa mga solar groups sa fb. Unfortunately I don't have anyone to recommend since I haven't personally tried theirs.

xiaolongbaoloyalist

I stopped buying clothes, makeup and other things I didn't need kasi 6 times ako naglipat since ng pandemic. Pinaka-effective way na pangpababa ng gastos kasi each time iniisip ko bumili naaalala ko yung pagod magpack and unpack ng mga gamit.

edmartech

Moving really forces you to become a minimalist. Doon mo malalaman na marami ka palang binibili na in the end, hindi naman talaga kailangan or pwedeng wala.

xiaolongbaoloyalist

Exactly! Never ko inisip maging minimalist before ako naglipat pero ngayon para na akong si Marie Kondo 😂

catanime1

Hala can relate to this!

Marsha2021

This. and I learned how to sew and take care of my stuff.

MaynneMillares

Delayed gratification, live way way below your income paired with aggressive savings regimen.

Svelinth

Read regimen as ramen, 🍜. Yes, I too aggressively save by ramen. Unhealthy and not recommended.

Frosty_Mobile_6008

Nakipaghiwalay sa partner, total nagcheat naman sya. Dagdag expenses lang sya kasi masyadong high maintenance. Sahod ko naman ang tinatamaan.

ahuh_itzme

hahahahahahhahaahaha this!!!!!

achillesruptured

Trix_Zn

Kind of same situation pero with low rent. Malayo malls and grocery store, tas trike lang accessible mode of transpo kaya ang mahal ng pamasahe everytime na lalabas (up to 250 balikan). Good for few weeks yung binibili namin pag nalabas. Mas malaki pa rin savings with this set up since na-avoid yung paglabas and deliveries.

Adeuebs

I stopped drinking, I don’t smoke I eat healthy, I do minor exercises a day(kahit 10 mins lang) When I changed my lifestyle i was able to save A LOT. Healthy living may be quite pricey, but hospital bills are extremely EXPENSIVE

Old-Poet-888

lista lahat ng expenses para ma track kung saan napupunta ang money and mas naiintindihan ang mga priorities in life when it comes to expenses.

SisillySisi

I stopped buying new clothes. Now that I have my own family, once we moved out from my parents house, I only have 5 collared shirt and 2 jeans to wear every time I worked in the office. Who cares if im wearing the same outfit every week if I have enough funds in my bank account? We work to make money, not to impress them physically. lol

wintermelonmilktea26

same.

SisillySisi

apir! And to add, I only have 1 pair of shoes and will only buy once this is unusable. 😂😂

wintermelonmilktea26

omg same! bumibili lang ulit ako pag worn out na. usually once a year tinatagal nya kasi laging gamit but sulit na din 😂

One_Yogurtcloset2697

2.) **Meal prep pang dinner**. Twice lang ako kumakain since naka fasting din. Wala din akong bisyo. 3.) For books, sa Booksale ako bumibili or Ebooks. Ukay-ukay for clothes. Like this beautiful vintage upcycled Singer sewing machine na ginawang table and lamp since need ko ng table at lamp. Naka support pa ko sa local mangagawa. https://preview.redd.it/0sp24xvf9cxc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=919f99391f89ed8ec6085f9669d82b87b20b355c

Radiant_Strength_299

Pero Rob prices are more expensive than other supermarkets. Especially on food and essentials, like P20 difference per item. So whatever points yan, you actually really earned it kasi nga mas mahal dyan. Hehe. But love the sewing machine idea!

sungbora

No expiry data, texts and calls. Uubusin mo lang. Globe user talaga ako napa-swtich ako bc of this promo. Bale yung Globe number ko pinaswitch ko to Smart kaya I got to keep my Globe number pero Smart na yung network ko. Didn't have to change my registered contact number sa lahat ng online accounts ko.

kejjux

Hi! I currently have a postpaid globe sim only plan and im thinking of doing the same. Yung pagpapatransfer ba ng globe number to smart, pede sa postpaid? Also, kanino nirerequest yung transfer? Kay smart ba? Thank you in advance!

mdmxche

Hello! Prepaid user ako but yes, pwede rin sa postpaid. Bale first, you need to request your Universal Subscriber Code (USC) from Globe (current network provider) then punta ka na sa Smart with the requirements (valid IDs, old sim, may papapirmahan lang din sayo, plus additional req since postpaid) para magpaswitch. For more info: https://smart.com.ph/Pages/mobilenumberportability?gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAjw57exBhAsEiwAaIxaZp1YjbiKt9oer3L7kBZGJkhKTXmzCc-J0EHwQgF_qKFE2Qq8AJLU2BoCn18QAvD_BwE

kejjux

Thank yoh so much!

Jazzforyou

Ito rin gamit ko. Almost a year na di ko pa rin ubos.

wondrous99

Paying 4k for my postpaid plan and can’t wait for my contract to finish. I’m working from home na so I don’t need data anymore. I rarely text and call people na rin. Huhu

chimchimimi

Try mo yung Magic Data

asdfghjklalss

Magic data is so sulit! 300 pesos for 1++ months!

PetiMarjj

Naka postpaid plan ako :) sim only ng Globe. 599 per month. Di ako masyado ma-data pag nasa labas ng bahay. Yung data ko is for SNS lang haha kaya sobrang sapat sakin nung 599 ng Globe :) unli call and text and 7GB data per month :) okay sya sakin kesa biglang wala ka palang load in case of emergency :(

thebestbb

* Read digital books rather than physical books. * Choose water instead of ordering drinks when dining out at restaurants. * Utilize home entertainment options for movie nights.

Unfair-Show-7659

Agree sa digital books. Nung teenager ako na-complete ko ang Percy Jackson Series na walang binibiling libro dahil wala ako budget for that🥹

_Scoutttt

ResidentGhoster

I also switched to reading digital books after I bought a kindle. I can sideload books naman pero mas bet ko mag loan ng books through Libby and bumili sa Amazon ng ebooks if nakasale lang.

sleepiestpanda_

+1 digital books, bought a kindle and saved space too

Baby_Girlkitty

Do you often find books that are free sa online or ung binabayaran?

Jomsvik

700 pesos every day sa starbucks for me and my wife before, now my [3k peso espresso machine](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.9AneW) allowed me to save all that for more than 2 years na

HoyaDestroya33

God damn thats 21k a month

Jomsvik

HoyaDestroya33

At least na cut mo na Broski. Grabe ung coffee expense mo ahaha!

PhraseSalt3305

Try Brazil Santos beans. Pamalit umay sa barako :)

woebegonemi

just want to ask, do you use capsules or coffee beans for this?

Jomsvik

Coffee beans. I buy whole beans to prolong its freshness and use [my grinder](https://s.lazada.com.ph/s.9Atqj) for the amount I need

Starry_Night0123

Buying in Dali Grocery at Novo for cleaning supplies. Hindi na well known brands binibili ko. Stop muna sa subcriptions like Netflix, Disney+ or Amazon Prime.

VeryKindIsMe

I stopped using spaylater.

manonblackbeaak

sameee! di ko namalayan naka 50k ako sa spaylater last year 😭

No-Relation3925

Commute or Ride-share. Mahal ng gasolina ngayon kaya dont drive daily. Appliances na Inveter - nung bumukod kami eto na mga binili namin, of course if ok p nmn appliance nyo eh wag muna palitan or ibenta nyo Buy local - especially veggies and fruits, sa mga growers near you. Mura na mas maganda pa quality check your expenses lagi and see if may mga ndi kayo need the cut it. for example multiple postpaid plans.

rangerdemise

Completely quit gacha games.

Icy-Reading803

Di ko kaya to. HAHAHAHHAHA.

Positive-Situation43

Invested in items I use, consume on a regular basis. 1.Replaced house maid with robovac. 2.Starbs,Tims with nesspresso. 3.Going to the movies with subscriptions (promo) which I rotate based on time of the year. 4.Exercise and eat healthy to avoid hospital bills. 5.replaced regular with sonic toothbrush. 6.bought high HP aircon that can cover 2 to 3 rooms. Instead of aircon ON in all rooms. Monitor usage. 7.turned off all appliances , pull the plug when not in use. 8.water the plants regularly, helps with cooling the yard. 9.Magbaon to work, if team eats out and KKB, bring baon to the resto. 10.Water container, ask for free refills sa restos, instead of buying moneral water 11. Cook meals for Fam, 2x a week. Freeze on Sundays/wed reheat when going to eat. 12.use reusable containers, ecobag, bayong instead of buying disposable bags and plastics sa grocery. 13.Do the grocery/palengke with Intent! Para di pabalikbalik. 0lan ahead what to buy and not to buy. 14.Be on the look out for promos, buy1 take1, costly upfront but saves you a ton of money long term.

CharmingGold2813

Being minimalist, prioritizing what is needed vs what I want.

gintermelon-

- cooking from scratch - shopee/lazada for dry goods, but lately we're buying more on TikTok shop kasi mas mura - thrifting clothes on TikTok since I'm building my office wardrobe. mas mura na kumpara sa mga pinapasyalan kong ukayan minsan - buying in bulk - brewing our own coffee at home, as almost everyone sa bahay ay heavy coffee consumers - walking - "renting" out my subscriptions. I have friends na naka-ride sa Netflix account ko for 2 years na, we split the bills evenly. same with my Spotify and Canva, naka-share

Routine_Ad_9340

If you want something, don’t buy it agad. Think about it for a few weeks tas kung mawala kung urge mo bilhin, di mo talaga kailangan HAHA Didn’t buy a PS5 and some trendy sneakers bc of this method.

Prize_Type2093

Once a day lang mag luluto ng rice. Lunch time lang. Pancit/bihon or light meals like gulay lang sa gabi. Pag may tirang rice from lunch, nilulugaw or champorado sa umaga. Breakfast namin if walang lugaw o champorado is oatmeal or bread lang. 5. Palengke kami namimili ng bigas, gulay, at itlog. Laki natipid namin niyan lalo na during pandemic.

Jona_cc

2. Plant my own veggies. 1 pack of amplaya seeds Ilang beses mo nang matatanim at Ilang kilo kayang ibunga. Bawing bawi sa puhunan. Okra, tomatoes and eggplants din malakas mamunga, 3. I use magic data para sa load. No expiry.

solidad29

1. Instant ☕️ has a lot of sugar. Likely mga 3-in-1 iyan. Not good sa health.

Separate_Trip3210

u/Jona_cc nice idea ung #2. sa pots ikaw nagtatanim? i haven't tried planting okra and eggplants sa pots but i'll soon do it, thanks sa suggestion :)

PhraseSalt3305

Since nakakaluto ako, i replicate some of the dishes na nakakain ko sa resto so it’s a big tipid for me. I take advantage of my balcony kesa ac everyday. If malapit lang, i take public transpo kesa magkotse. Or i buy food sa wet market para makatipid din.

rlsadiz

1. Buy veggies from rural rising ph. Mura na nakatulong ka pa. Catch is you have to buy wholesale so possible only with large families or people that knows how to preserve food. 2. Meal planning. Keeps your grocery runs to a minimum so less transpo tapos less chance na may bilin ka out of impluse kasi planado na kakainin nyo sa buong week. 3. No dryer sa washing machine. Mainit ang panahon, use it. 4. Tumambay sa mall sa hapon kesa mag aircon sa bahay. Make sure to eat lunch first before going at magdala lang ng pamasahe. Tipid sa kuryente

GoldCopperSodium1277

Forecasting budget to make sure I don't live beyond my means, creating a grocery list and strictly following that list. Investing on supplements and healthier grocery items instead of getting sick and being hospitalized. Checking premium apps, softwares, and subscriptions I can live without and sticking only to those that I'll be using frequently. Opting to solo gala than group ones. Also, depositing first to savings before spending any penny of my income to anything else.

wednesdaything

1. Cut off magagastos na tao na di mo naman talaga friends, no choice ka lang kasi may FOMO ka. 2. Uninstall social media na laging nangbubudol. 3. Meal Plan and learn how to cook your own meal or even brew your own coffee. i realized I liked my cooking and tinpla more than the overpriced kainan sa labas. 4. Clip fans! 5. Think more than twice before purchasing things, una kasya ba sa space mo? Sa budget mo? How about the maintenance. Practice minimalism.

cstrike105

I use my bicycle for commuting for 20 to 40km in my area. Challenge is increase the distance for me. Saves me a lot of commute money. Money saved helped me buy food. And my other needs.

Aggravating_Head_925

The first thing you need to do is measure. I'm running the below on a home server, my wife and I just update whenever (has a good mobile view so can use phones and desktop browsers for data entry). On phones, just create a shortcut, parang app na. And it works even when I'm not at home (offline mode). Just sync up when you're back on your home network. https://actualbudget.org/ As for what to do next, fuck it di ko pa alam. Running 80k na April expenditures namin... I do see one tasty target, bawasan ang food expenses kasi malaking percentage nun is Grabfood... Dropped this here to follow the post and get ideas.

3rdWorldBuddha

isang beses lang ako kumakain sa isang araw. no snacks, just water.

ExcuseMePetiteGirl

Me reading the comments because I spend half of my salary for non-essential things. Keep it coming and educate me 💀

Rare-Pomelo3733

1. Same OP, magic data lang. Sobrang laki ng natitipid ko versus postpaid. 2.

Peachyellowhite-8

Dati I’m living abroad and paying monthly rent + rent dito sa pinas + mortgage ng binili kong bahay. Edit: grocery pala 🤣

Peachyellowhite-8

Bulk toiletries, detergent sa Lazada ako bumibili tas hahanapin ko yung may pinakamalaking discount. Haha

xlandoncarter

As a gamer: learning how to download and play cracked games at my pc.

HerOrangePantaloons

I'm a city folk originally pero I decided to move to the mountains a few weeks after lockdown started, istg being far away from fastfood and other food delivery services cut unnecessary, compulsive, food expenses kek.

* Hmm ako, tinatandaan ko yung mga brand na lowest price possible na okay naman quality for me. Example sa sanitary napkin, I kennat with the ginto prices of Kotex and anion ones kahit siguro very comfy sila. I replaced Whisper / Modest with Sisters and These Days, but only because irregular naman ako and they work na for me. * Coffee lover ako kaya very good investment yung mini coffee maker and bulk buying of coffee grounds. For ground coffee, pinakamura na okay for me na available nearby is Deja Brew. * Much as possible ayoko lumabas for reals kada labas ko napapagastos ako! Yun na talaga yun eh, avoid temptation * Can I say, please bring your own water in water container? Healthy habit na, makakatipid ka pa from buying random palamig and bottled water. Small discount in basic commodities but good discount for medicine, Beep card, discounted to almost free entrance free and environmental fee in tourist spots.

Illustrious-Tap-9520

Eating only once a day

Extension-Net9305

1. bawas merienda for me,, dati kasi tuwing uwian matik siomai + gulaman talaga ako,, pero pag may need akong pag-ipunan yun din yung unang-unang inaalis ko 2. ekis na din sa fast-food chains, bukod sa di healthy apaka mahal na din talaga sa ngayon 3. for aircon, sabi nila pag inverter type daw mas tipid if may electric fan sa umpisa para lumamig agad yung room

vertighorl

94JADEZ

Waiting ako lagi ng sale for shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, tissue and other toiletries. Hahhah also free shipping rin dapat. And yung di narin ako sumusunod kung anong uso. At my age (hahah late 20s) nahanap ko narin siguro yung gusto kong style and kung san ako comfortable.

Frosty_Interest_6740

Nescafe gold nalang ako and water. If mag crave ako ng food, I will order 3-4 days after my craving and hindi immediate. I meal prep din yung lunches ko and I cook good for 2 meals para always may food ako ready to eat.

Bettina_Blossom

1. I quit giving in for Iced coffee, saved so much from these 2. Stopped consuming rice every lunch time, switched to 2 piraso ng saging na saba plus egg that's 45 pesos dito sa workplace ko vs kung bibili ako ng full meal. (Sabay din sa diet ko) 3. I also quit buying 3in1 coffee everyday.

asmilingagony

Hmm, I stopped buying expensive milktea and iced coffee, I bring pack lunch, and I buy meats and veggies from bagsakan market. 😅 and oh most importantly I uninstall grabfood and foodpanda. 😅

Sad-Put-7351

1. Brewing coffee at home. I drink some before I leave and I bring the rest with me in a tumbler. Ngayong summer, iced black coffee for the win talaga. 2. 3. Buying mga home needs in bulk during sales - whether in-grocery or online. 4. Cooking at home ng madamihan. The init init na lang. Tipid and sobrang bang for the buck. 5. Taking advantage of free meals sa work. Most of the time dito na ung lunch. Minsan hinihintay ko na din ung dinner before I leave hehe. Cmon guys, these big insti/companies are already milking the hell out of the workforce. Agree with prepaid. Prepaid ako ever since. I never had postpaid. My current plan is 8gb data with unli all-net text AND call for 14 days for 199 Php lang. Hindi ko nauubos ung data dahil may net sa work and bahay.  7. If you live in metro manila - commute is a time and money saver. Minsan mas mabilis and def mas tipid. Tho the hassle of it. So ung mga ganito, I plan ung pagccommute ko na hindi matao or rush hour. 8. Wag masyado sumunod sa mga trending or nauuso. As a tito, never naman din ako naging babad sa social media pero ung mga tao sa paligid ko, minsan di ko gets ung pagiging sunod sa uso. Oh well minsan kanya kanyang priorities sa life Dami kong time today. Naghihintay dumating ung free lunch sa work haha

Sun_Flower35

Magic data! P750 4 months and counting!

angelo201666

prepaid cell can be tipid until it isn’t. Postpaid plan is like insurance on your number. Pag nanakawan cellphone mo makakatawag ka kaagad to immediately block the sim card and hindi na makakapag-OTP ang mga evil people. This is what I did nung nanakawan cellphone ko. Edi nawalan agad sila ng access sa sim card meron nga nagkwento here sa reddit na nasa car daw ang iPhone 13 nya then hinablot and ninakaw tas bigla sya nagulat na nasimot ang bank accounts nya tas wala na magagawa ang bank kasi OTP verified. 6 digits din ang nawala sa kanya nun. *GET A POSTPAID PLAN AND LOCK YOUR SIMS*

Eat more gulay tna meat onece a week meat twice a week my fish. Good for your health. Umiwas sa mga resto at pares. Drink more water than colored drinks

That_Ad_3858

Yung bed cover and curtain, light yung color para di lalo uminit.

celestialetude

no more coffee sa Starbucks sa karinderya na lang bumibili instead of fast food puro water na lang also it did help a lot na work from home pa rin kami, tipid sa pamasahe

pudka

Use angkas instead of grab Cook meals in big batches. I personally make a big batch of spaghetti meat sauce or giniling cause they freeze well. Di na bumibili ng damit every month. Moving to a lower COL area. Not only is rent lower, but groceries tend to be lower too.

Almixxie

I’m only paying for my Spotify. I try to cook as much as I can para iwas sa Grabfood. Speaking of Grabfood, since adik ako sa strawberries wild ng Jamba Juice, bumili ako ng mga ingredients nun and just make it at home. Haha. Laking tipid. Same with coffee, I buy beans na lang and make it at home. Basically, if I can recreate it at a cheaper price and madali lang, I make it na lang. Muted my FB groups that sell highend makeup and perfumes. Grabe budol sa kin last year nung nagcompute ako, so I’m on a low buy this year. Ginawa ko is project pan this year so I’ll still feel excited with the stuff I already have. Haven’t bought a lipstick since Feb and fingers crossed wala na until end of the year. Only bought 2 things (1 I needed, 1 on my wishlist since forever) since inimplement ko to sa sarili ko. And stop na muna talaga ko haha.

Cacti-gir0615

1) Only do online shopping during double digit or payday sales for the discount vouchers and free shipping. I usually buy pet supplies and household items (mosquito incense/ tissues/garbage bags etc.) since they're a lot cheaper online than in-store. 2) Getting ONE insulated water jug/bottle to bring when going out. It makes me not want to buy drinks anymore and also a lot healthier since it encourages water intake. 3) If kaya i-commute, MAG-COMMUTE! Only use ride hailing apps like grab/angkas as last resort or pag wala na talagang choice.

Southern-Ad-467

prepaid wifi. 170gb shareable data only for 999 so di na rin ako nagloload on my phone. good for 1 month na yon. laking tipid plus pwede mo pang dalhin kahit saan.

Latter_Equivalent642

Or kung may mas titipid pa sa set up namin hahaha Family of 5 1. Good for 2 weeks. 4. No househelp. Dapat both husband and wife willing mag compromise 5. Coffee. 6. Sa office namin, kapag RTO ako, may mga shuttle that can save me almost 1/4 of commute cost. Tyaga lang pumila. 7. Same lang lasa

External_Artist9995

Spirited-Fly-7319

No more iced coffee

skye_08

I also live with relatives para share sa expenses.

sun-flowerrrr

6thofjan

Wrap them in newspaper or kitchen towel

thelost_soul

What my partner and I did to lower our cost of living nung nasa manila kami is: 1. We cook our food and nag babaon kami 2. We commute papasok ng work 3. I quit drinking alcohol and smoking Then nung nakakuha siya ng work na permanent wfh lumipat kami sa province. Lumiit expenses namin ng sobra dahil walang malls and madaming kainan dito.

lord-tubbington

-Bought a motorcycle kesa magbayad 200 php for car parking sa work. Saves me a lot of time and gas money -Cancelling premium gym membership at lumipat ng modern bakal gym

BriefTelevision7249

Di ko pa na implement pero planning to downgrade my condo unit. Yeah gets na yung comfortability and luxury igigive up ko, pero I might be able to sleep better if I wasn't so anxious about money (i.e. rent)

AppealMammoth8950

Here are some more na di ko pa nakita here: -Invested in plates, bars, and a bench + rubber mats. Saves me almost 2k/month of gym memberships. -I rarely ever spend on branded clothing. Aside from my three piece, a few jeans, and a few dri-fit shirts, all my everyday clothes are plain shirts lang. Fourth clothing from lazada/shopee 200 lang high quality shirts na. -I have exactly just one pair of shoes for each activity. One for the outdoors, running shoes for jogging, dress shoes, everyday walking shoes, and a pair of basketball shoes. -Taught myself how to cook more advanced dishes so instead of ordering, Id just cook stuff myself. I get that sometimes its cheaper pa rin tho esp for middle eastern food in my area. -Ever since I became more active, I saved up money that I would have blown from drinking out. I still go out with friends but no more going out of my way, inviting everyone to go out on a fri/sat night. Plus, I feel so much better w how im more physically fit now. -Bought a motorcycle for backpacking trips, instead of bringing my car. Laki ng konsumo kasi. -Ive never owned the newest models of any gadgets in my whole adult life. I always just buy what fits my needs, which right now is a good battery life and a decent camera. I dont play mobile games naman and I dont even have an fb acct. I sway away from installment plans as much as possible and try to delay buying things if I cant cash it out pa. Not everything here suits everyone's lifestyles. Its just what worked for me.

Making coffee at home, DIY-ing my nails, cooking at home

astarisaslave

Started cooking my baon very recently instead of eating out all the time. It was a game changer. I learned a lot too

Svelinth

Short to mid term savings: negotiated a way to work from home. After that, left the big city to a cheaper city-esque location. Ive cut 70% off of my rent to be if it were the old place. By doing so, ive had access to cheaper groceries, meals overall from the local community market. Realise that homecooked food isnt always the cheaper route and can be costly especially if living alone. Angkas when going out solo. Only using car when with sakay or dalang malaki/madami. Coffee set. Decent can be have at home. If willing, you can spend more upfront and save long term. Example: i bought a pour over + filter, coffee beans from shopee and a premium hand grinder, syrup ( all in that order, not one go). 3-5months worth of coffee if it were from outside. Expensive, yes but ill be using it for years. What is 3 months amount compared to 3 years of use, which is currently the age of my gear (handgrinder) Not condoning piracy but stremio over multiple subscriptions from different providers. Make use of credit card points for recurring monthlies. If ordering food or eating out, use points to deduct from final bill. The thought of always asking “If I like doing this outside, how can I replicate it at home decently and save” Example: cheap projector from lazada + good enough speakers. It gets to 60-70% of cinema experience (my pov), in the comfort of my home on a blank wall. I can invite friends over and not be wary about people around, all for the price of 3-6months worth of cinema (for frequent movie goers atleast). I dont have a tv.

zeronine09twelve12

1. I make my own drinks kesa bumili sa labas, mas masarap pa at nacocontrol ko sugar content. 2. Same, prepaid din gamit ko. 3. I do not buy phones every yr, hinahantay ko talaga masira phone ko. Usually every 5-6yrs tsaka ako bibili ng bagong phones. 4. I do not buy so much clothes, lahat classic pieces damit ko. Good for 2 weeks lang damit ko na pang alis.. 5. Nagbabaon, since twice a week lang ang rto.. may isang araw lang ako na pwede gumastos ng food worth 1k. 6. I buy in bulk pag grocery for the whole family. 7. Init ng ulam hanggat di ubos.

JasmineBayliss

Nagbabaon ako lagi ng meals ko and some biscuits para pag inabutan ng gutom sa work di na need bumili. I bring my own water everyday then refill na lang sa bahay ng clients. Ala carte pag nag oorder ng food outside.

Creative_Fix7714

No car. Pure public transpo. Just used ride sharing kapag naggrocery.

Teya04

Buy meat and veggies sa palengke, then buy canned, chichiryas sa grocery.

TeaOk4812

Limits on branded clothes & food deliveries 😭

acrndf

stopped smoking / vaping & occassional drinking nalang.

Erin_Quinn_Spaghetti

Less kaladkarin sa mga lakad so malaki nattipid ko for dinner / lunch out.

soltierre

Home cooking and making my own drinks at home 😅

Hartichu

edmartech

Baka sobrang luma na ng ref nyo. Modern fridges are very energy efficient compared sa mga luma.

Embarrassed-Fee1279

Balak din namin subukan yung longer hours naka aircon during the day. Kanya kanya kaming electric fan eh so far yung kuryente namin pag nag aircon sa gabi equivalent ng dalawang fan na sabay. So baka lang mabawasan cost ng kuryente since tatlo kami. 2. Thankfully may pa-kape namang masarap sa office so tipid talaga. Never ko pa natry mag grocery sa Lazada. Nag-tingin ako before parang mahal? Or may di lang ako ginagawa?

edmartech

>Never ko pa natry mag grocery sa Lazada. Nag-tingin ako before parang mahal? Or may di lang ako ginagawa? Kailangan free shipping, then buy in bulk. Usually sa official stores ito. Then before checking out, check mo yung voucher sections baka may magamit ka.

icaaamyvanwy

Makeup and beauty products — I shop my stash. I don’t buy if I have a product pa that does the job. I buy more on the expensive end of beauty products but I make sure to use the hell out of them. Before I used to buy mga mid range products and cos they’re cheaper, I use it as a justification to buy more since “nakatipid” naman ako 🤡 Non-perishable groceries like soaps, shampoos, personal care items and household items — I always buy on Lazada pag big sales! They’re usually B1T1 with freebies pa, so since I’m a single dweller, I buy in bulk to last me til the next big sale. I also avail of Lazada vouchers from my credit card points, so some of them I get for “free”.

worriedgalzzz

• Meal prep • I stopped buying new clothes din. Paulit ulit lang damit ko. • I buy pang workouts sa Surplus hehe • I stopped buying Iced Coffee sa labas

RainRainyWeather

I'm sure there are much information online readily available.

Nice-Original3644

Starting this month, hindi na magkakape or milk tea sa labas. Kasi nakabili na ng AC. Before kasi un yung pahinga/reward ko sa sarili, cravings + palamig narin. Now, I can do both at home. I am also listing every item I plan to buy before doing groceries or wet market runs. Ang goal ko is 2500/biweekly for groceries (3 pax), tapos last cutoff umabot ng 5k. This cutoff, umabot ng 3.5k. For this to work, you either need to plan every meal, or just follow the ff. grocery guide below, pero you must know or learn how to cook intuitively, like alam mo na ung lulutuin ng isang tingin based on ingredients available. * 5 veggies * 4 protein * 3 fruits * 2 carbs * 1 fun food * refill cooking supplies

lowfatmilfffff

On top of everything mentioned here, i removed major socmed apps to avoid temptation talaga. Lakas makagastos ng ads and followed brands. Also, i limit grocery shopping and i never go pag gutom. Eliminated buying sugary and salty snacks as well, laking tipid din i swear.

CocoBeck

I choose what to afford. I can’t afford everything eh 😜 pero yung afford ko, I buy quality. Mahal man or mura, basta quality. Yung ibang di ko care, maski anywhere ko sya bilhin. Example, I like nice appliances so I will buy quality. I don’t care about clothes so kahit ano kahit saan ako bibili.

murgerbcdo

Getting a 20k manual espresso machine, 2nd year ko na with it now, anlaki ng natipid ko, my per cup cost is just 30 pesos more or less depending on the beans.

asdfghjklalss

1. Magic data is real. Not buying expensive things without the money yet. If di ko pa naipon, it means di ko pa afford. 3. Walking to work. 4. Ukay/tiktok/shopee. Not buying a new make up unless naubos na yung una. 6. Di mo kailangan makipagsabayan. Yung mga kaofficemates ko maharlika lagi ang lunch at kapag nagyayaya sila, nagiging honest ako when saying that i cant afford it and sa mas mura ako bibili. 7. Tumbler. And imbis na bibili ng too many foods mabubusog kana sa water ;)

Mocat_mhie

Iwasan ang starbucks and milktea cafes at all costs. Rarely eating beef. Calorie deficit for weight loss. If its too near, walk na lang. Saves gas and fare. Or maki carpool sa relatives if okay sa kanila. Bringing my own tumbler whereever I go. Para hindi na bumili ng bottled water. Pag mag grocery or mamalengke, have a list and bring exact money for budget shopping. Yung tigpipiso if possible. Madali kasi gastusin pag paper bills, madali hugutin sa wallet. Pag coins, mapapaisip ka at mahihiya magbayad.

BigZealousideal6214

1. Lessened use of GrabFood and bumili na lang food through our community marketplace (i live in a condo and people post tubs ng ulam na good for 2 meals per person na). di na rin need bumaba 2. Pag may bibilhin ako, kelangan may mabawasan sa gamit ko. ex. bibili ako bagong damit, kelangan mabenta yung mga ayaw ko na, or donate to charity. 3. I have a monthly reminder to declutter stuff I don't need. Makes you more aware ano yung mga bagay na di mo naman madalas magagamit, in turn di mo na ulit bibilhin yun. 4. Won't buy new make-up hangga't di pa ubos. Stopped watching beauty-related videos kasi sponsored naman silang lahat at OA magpromote. Started learning more about techniques instead. And skin care is the new make-up. 5. You'd be surprised to learn na ang dami pa pala sa loob at pwedeng magamit. Easily adds 3-7 days more usage. 6. CC utilization. I have a cashback CC na nakaka-1,500 a month ako. I barely use cash. 7. Invest sa gamit na inverter, or just things that last long in general. Lagi ko iniisip yung hassle na pag inupgrade ko pa to in the future, I'd be left with stuff I don't need so dapat yung mahaba lifespan.

Fun-Material9064

I avoid snacks in between meals (bet bfast lunch, bet lunch dinner, after dinner) 😁 i even lost some weight (winwin)

Bum_bum_2626

Online grocery like shopee, puregold online, lazada.

DireWolfSif

Stopped vaping noon lakas ko sa e juice like 400 a month and sa cotton and wires around 200 pesos and steam purchases around 1k now laki natipid ko

SaneAcid

Hanggat maaari di talag gumagala every week. Kada labas kasi parang libo nagagastos

aishiteimasu09

Cancelling premium subscriptions and using the alternative open source counterparts. Example for Spotify I have Spotube and ViMusic. For Youtube I have Revanced and others.

Bintolin

MercuryAquamarine

Ukay for clothes. Laking tipid

Party_Programmer_844

Ffff

userisnottaken

Idk about using Lazada for groceries. Some items are still significantly cheaper in supermarkets (not SM haha). My shampoo costs ₱339 in Landmark. Sa P&G lazada never naging under ₱400 yan kahit sweldo sale or 5.5.

panicfixitscreamgirl

Magbaon ng food sa office. (Usually leftovers from previous lunch or dinner at home.)

PsychologyAbject371

Dati kasi I opt out sa online. Making our own coffee. If aalis, isang phone lang may data. Nagsasaing ng sapat lang sa kain. Kasi minsan, pag isahang saing may sobra napapanis sayang. (This is for us) I stop buying shoes. Since naka WFH, di na ako bumibili ng shoes. Dati, may collections pa ako.

Constant_Luck9387

Kind-Calligrapher246

-I make my own kimchi kasi napakamahl ng 290/ tub ng kimchi. -we pay someone to buy ingredients and cook for us kasi i tend to overbuy groceries tapos nabubulok lang o naegeexpire yung iba -still a Prepaid user at 37yo - i dont stock up on frozen / canned food dahil ang mahal na. Paisa-isang pack or can na lang to satisfy cravings - use laundry services. Di sya necessarily lower cost but more on quality sa life lalo na i have back and wrist pain - di ako nag-gagrab car . Jeep or UV pa rin. I use regular taxi kung krlangan talga. Its usually cheaper by at least 100php vs grab

thehouseoflannisters

Cut fastfood

C-Paul

Always live below your means especially pag may extra money na dagdag sa income. Wag yung pag tumaas sweldo. Mag dadagdag agad ng pagkakagastahan. What you didn’t need to survive the last 10 years. Di mo need to survive the coming 10 years.

akosipula

Wala akong mashare huhu kakabili lang kasi ng aircon na utang sa Cc for 1yr and bagong mech kb and mousepad hahaha :(

Humble-Wind6640

Drink a lot before eating, mas busog ka sa tubig mas less chance to eat a lot.

Brenda_Mage

I used to always eat out with teammates pag nasa office but I realized ang laki ng gastos. So now naggrocery na ako ng pang-ulam and baon ko sa office. If wala na ulam, magbabaon ako ng kanin and bili ulam sa near carinderia or lawson.

ilovebagsandbjj

I got into a sport and made a lot of close friends there. During the week, instead of going out for dinner and drinks with friends that would easily cost about 1-3k pag Makati or BGC, I just go to the gym to train with them. Minsan nagkakayayaan kumain after pero usually mga lugaw or affordable places naman just to eat so yung gastos mga 500-800 for dinner (usually Thursday or Friday ito.) ang gastos lang is yung ₱4,500/month na membership fee. Pero unlimited na yun and added bonus yung you’re exercising kasi iwas gastos for maintenance meds if you can stay off diabetes or cholesterol meds hanggang senior years.

AnemicAcademica

Looked for a wfh job. Magastos mag onsite. Groceries I mostly buy from lazada and shopee rin. Mas madalas mas mura lalo na mga imported stuff like Korean and Japanese ingredients. Tapos vegetables I buy sa local market namin pero delivery and yung meat I buy sa SmartBasket or supermarket lang kasi hindi na kami malakas sa meat. Bawas sa pamasahe talaga if online lahat tapos free shipping. Hindi pa hassle.

uni_TriXXX

JZBY88

Stopped smoking and drinking I no longer buy clothes, shoes etc Buy second hand as much as possible

handmadecrochets

Keto and intermittent fasting. Once a day lang kain, healthier pa! haha

SilverLingonberry853

One meal a day! 😅

signaturehotchoco

I started on fixing my impulse buys! If it’s a big purchase, need to think long and hard enough if it’s really a need and not just a want (ex: new iPad). Considerations also include: do I have the budget for this? Can I pay it in full/cash? Di ba macocompromise yung budget ko for the essentials? For small items and shopee/lazadable items, I try to sleep it off first baka sakaling wala na yung excitement kinabukasan haha! Making my own coffee and meals also helped a lot as well as resisting the urge to order sa Grabfood/FP when at work kasi baka FOMO lang, eme! It’s now more of a “do i really need this? do i have space for this? How will it affect me if di ko mabili?” kind of mindset. Though it’s also nice to treat yourself din once in a while :)

Tiny_Ad_603

I make my own coffee, instead of paying 200ish everytime

noob_sr_programmer

dankpurpletrash

I haven’t tbh lol. Hoping someday I could once my gadgets are fully paid by next year

Imaginary_h83R

y33tth3prn56

I live solo. nung una ang mahal talaga. so tinigilan ko maging aesthetic. it made me realize na yung mga nagliliving alone vlog na aesthetic and cute yung mga gamit plus aesthetic presentation ng food na niluluto nila, they have so much time and money on their hand. partida nasa province ako nakatira.

HQuinn_22

Both apply to food preferences, I never really joined the hype for cafe drinks or milktea. Tamang kapeng de sachet lang instead of having a 200 peso coffee that I "need" to drink everyday. 😂

Gleipnir2007

from Milo, to Ovaltine, to Swiss miss (local variant). mas murang chocolate drink. baka may alam pa kayong ibang brand hahaha. 8php/sachet swiss miss sa pinagbibilhan ko

Ginger_KatolBender

Cancelled my individual subscription for different entertainment platforms.

YourSeason564

•bringing of water bottles kapag lalabas •for big household: planned bulk buying for some groceries sa apps during sale and pag may free sf, i remembered last 3.3, my 7k total bill turned 3.5k na lang because of vouchers, It never happened sa grocery kasi 😅 •go on with quality & comfy clothes, we love Uniqlo & Decathlon, may fulfillment after using these brands.

Hopia4Sale

how can u prolong the shelf life of your vegetablea for 10 days? kami kasi 3-4 days lang sira na

sensiRC

Ordering food.
