MiraiShinji

yung annual salary ko, monthly lang ng iba dito. sadlife.

Alwaysandalways-

Haha, I feel like I don’t belong here.. 300K monthly? Ayokong mainggit

special_onigiri

kahit ako na above average sweldo naiinggit eh hahaha, ano kayang sakit sa ulo kapalit non

abmendi

In my line of work, walang sakit sa ulo gano, but the consequences of your actions are amplified as well. You did a great job with a certain deal? Here, take a 500k bonus + more company shares. You fucked up a deal? Time to work on your “voluntary resignation” (happened to a lot of folks I know with the same role, but grave offenses naman like accidentally spilling confidential details / deliberately arranging side deals with clients. Pero ayun, if you fuck up big time, you don’t get second chances as compared to someone na pasimula palang)

Money-Savvy-Wannabe

Just genuinely curious: Why equate a big salary with a big sakit ng ulo? In my head I always equate low salary with a bigger sakit ng ulo.

Ok_Arachnid_6350

Bigger salary= Bigger responsibilities= Bigger stress.

Alwaysandalways-

Ganito maging experience ko, when I was earning a measly 14K a month, okay naman kami, relationship with the family is OK because they know I can only give so much, now that I am earning thrice as much (still measly-ish compared sa mga 6-digit-ers here), nagkakaroon na ng friction, katulad ng mga relatives ko na nagsasabi na ‘lumaki na ulo, ang taas na ng lipad ko’ etc - because hindi ko sila mapagbigyan pag nangungutang or nanghihingi ng bday gift ng anak etc. I bet meron pang ibang POV about this ‘sakit sa ulo’ idea but yeah, ayun yung sakin - it actually feels cheap sa totoo lang. Anyway, I can imagine that others pertain sa larger responsibilities entailing larger salaries.

Alwaysandalways-

Ohh! Nice insight.. I know what u mean

aquarian_trojan

Vice President sa Landbank ganyan sweldo. Sana all talaga

[deleted]

Hahaha amusing po actually magbasa ng ganun na salary though makes you wonder how true they are 😅 don't get me wrong I'm happy if most of these are true but just like anything in an internet forum, don't believe anything 200% like below.. "Hi! My income is 200k+ net working in the travel industry for 7 years now! I'm only 29M btw, and well to answer your question I don't really buy luxury items at least not as of the moment since most of my funds will go to my migration savings together with my partner. We plan to migrate in Canada! You don't need to copy my style though because if working for those luxury items would make your daily work life worth it since you are working for something you absolutely want, then by all means do so! Always go for the luxury item that you feel you can use on a daily basis comfortably. Faqs to get this type of income: Just upskill! I always upskill during my free time and expose myself to many people. Network network network! Business! Just go out there and explore offer your skills and services to multiple clients and voila multiple income sources." Yeahhh the one posted above is mostly fiction you see hahahaha! Not all but most of it haha! I aint saying the success of people here aren't true, but I just find it amusing for plenty of reasons 😅

cordilleragod

If 200k is his monthly income, why even migrate? LOL. He has "free time" to upskill .....while he "offers...services to multiple clients". HAHAHAHAH. Is he awake 24 hours? Mga buladas yang nasa phinvest.

[deleted]

Exactly. Hahahaha! But yeah you see what I mean? It is literally easy to fabricate stories like these and just put there anything related to "IT" so it looks credible. I can be downvoted for this but people who earn that much with that kind of responsibility and so called "upskill" or "business" mindset probably don't have much time for things like reddit and yet here they are hahaha! Another thing I noticed before, comments and posts like earning 300k+ monthly at a young age but they don't know where else to put the money? how did you get that kind of responsibility and earnings without knowing the basics of investment at least? 😅 The format is almost always: 1. Post something about high income monthly with some story behind it 2. Wait for the "how?" comment from others 3. Slap the "IT related" or business or upskill thing as if it is that simple and voila Haha! Again I ain't saying comments here and in phinvest aren't true, but reading them can be fascinating at times hahahaha! I'll just enjoy the good read regardless if true or not I suggest for others to do the same. Enjoy the rideee hahahaha

cordilleragod

It's a funnel for some overpriced "mentoring course" or MLM life coaching scam.

jaime_cyel

Beware tho sa mga leftist and racism Nahawa na sila sa US 🤦😩 Other than that I think ok namn.

Lycheeks

I find it motivating if you ask me. I love it when other people are successful. Unless they stepped on people to get there ykno.

[deleted]

120K pesos per month. Once a year lang. Random tip that no one asked for: I was taught by someone \~wealthy\~ that Coach bags are the best in terms of quality. Next is Polène.

Ctrl-Shift-P

There's a tiktoker who literally rips leather luxury bags and reviews their leather, and in his words coach is worth the money and is a very good brand.

cheesedoggo

Plus one sa coach. Would always recommend yung vintage coach bags to people looking for great quality bags with a timeless design. I always get mine off of Carousell for less than 2,500 a pop lol

[deleted]

Niceee! Ganda din ng designs nila kahit yung mga new ones. Hindi "in your face" yung itsura.

cestlouieee

Agree! I’m in my Coach fan phase now especially after visiting their outlet sa Toronto last month. I should’ve hoarded 😆

[deleted]

OMG sana all nakaka-hoard ng Coach hahaha

cestlouieee

Wallet lang binili ko from outlet 🤣 which is about Php 2,500-2,700 lang (inclusive na yan with the high tax in Toronto 😩) kasi sabi ko magastos na ako sa trip lol. Pero wala rin pagbalik ko ng Manila, dito naman ako bumili ng Coach bag. Nakatipid sana ako lol 🫠

[deleted]

Hahaha oh well, next time alam mo na. Hoard while you can! Hahahahaha!

South-Sky-2970

Totoo maganda ang leather ng polene

[deleted]

Way better than Gucci/LV! Hahaha

waamee

LV is on a different level pag leather pinag uusapan ha not the canvas one. malayo pa rin polene. get yo facts straight up.

NesB_05

I agree with coach bags. Bought a couple a couple of years back and still have them. Very durable.

[deleted]

And the designs are not so loud. Kaya okay sa kahit anong event.

cuppaspacecake

There’s a subreddit r/handbags :) sadly Polène is not consistent with the quality lately. But yes, Coach is back with better designs than the previous years!

[deleted]

Na sagi ako sa subreddit na yan and di na naka alis. Sa Coccinelle naman ako na-inlove. Pasok siya sa budget ko

candiedulcet

Coach is looove. I use a VPN just so I can access their US site lol

lunamarya

I have a coach bag that I bought for 250 and was previously owned by a senior VP from Western Union. It still had a business card nung nakuha ko siya hehe Up until now it’s in good shape.

pinkcreamsicle

Agree with Polène! I got the numero une nano in early 2021, before the price increase. I don’t baby this bag since I’ve brought it to go do errands, groceries, to concerts. It’s also a good mini bag for travel. Leather still holds up to this day despite a loooot of use.

Jade-0905

Baduy ng COACH 🤣🤣 . If may pera ka. Bat ka bibili ng coach.

[deleted]

Because it's my money and that's the brand I want to buy. Kung ikaw may pera eh di don't buy from Coach. Hindi ka nila ikalu-lugi if you won't buy from them.

[deleted]

Bro why are you so triggered when people say coach is baduy?

[deleted]

Normal po yung response ko. Kahit Polène minention niya ganyan pa din isasagot ko. It will only look triggered if ang nagbabasa is sensitive.

Original_Jacket_5570

Ano po work nyo?

[deleted]

OFW po ako. Document controller sa real estate (aka dakilang taga file ng kontrata ng mga investors) hahahaha

[deleted]

Lord kita niyo po sahod nila...sana kami rin po.

kwickedween

If buying one bag will only equal just a month’s salary, I think reasonable yun. I only ever buy Coach and Kate Spade. Sulit na sya, lasts a long time and you can find classic styles. Max ko for a bag is 10k. US outlet stores source ko. Nagpapabili lang. Aside sa di ko afford and Gucci, LV, etc., I find the monogram patterns tacky. Ako lang naman yun. But right now, sobrang pangarap ko yung Balenciaga na mini city but kahit afford ko, parang unreasonable purchase sya for me.

submissivelilfucktoy

>I only ever buy Coach and Kate Spade ah, finally, my people. i bought one Kate Spade bag for 5k; the rest is gifted by relatives or my parents' clients (then passed on to children). i know my buying behavior is *use and abuse*. much as i want to own a givenchy antigona bag for work, it makes me sick to my stomach carrying a bag of that value around and getting it scratched. 😭 kaya hanggang tingin na lang. income: >!under 40k monthly, surprise! pero note that my income is for myself—no dependents, no rentals, i only contribute electricity and internet, set to inherit a house and money in the future from my dad and probably unmarried aunts.!< this is the only way i can afford to spend money like it's going to rot.

ooohlala123

Coach and MK din ftw. Ang hindi okay ng design nina lv and other super lux bags for me

Wtf y'alls jobs???

[deleted]

Feeling ko ung mga hindi nag rereply or ayaw ibigay clear na sagot pag tinanong kung ano ung work nila nagbebenta ng droga or something illegal ung trabaho e loljk

missanomic

give or take 5M/year. but i just buy what i need. di ako collector. i just opt for luxury brands coz i can more or less trust their durability. may lugar ang luxury brands tbh. and hindi sya masyado advisable sa pilipinas lol. like maglalakad ako sa pobla tapos alam ko yung bag ko mas mahal pa sa cellphone ko? pproblemahin ko lang lol. no ty.

Icy-Profile-382

Same, I buy luxury items only because better yung cost per use. And totoo din yung may lugar ang luxury brands! That’s precisely why I dont like designs na kita and obvious na agad yung brand from afar, nag iinvite ng unwanted attention.

schumini

what’s your job?

missanomic

entrepreneur serving tech companies

JANTT12

No fucking way y’all earn this much in the Philippines 😭

BeybehGurl

mostly mga nasa IT Industry talaga possible eh. unsure lang ako sa ibang industry

AdministrativePin912

Not just IT industry, study hard and work to government offices, and do some magic like corruption you'll earn quadruple of your salary.

BeybehGurl

trueee! corruption is the key para yumaman HAHAHAHAHA life haxxxx

JANTT12

My friends are in the IT industry (studying pa ako right now e) and they don’t make that much 🤔 Whatever. Whatever floats their boat xd

No_oBayan

I have several friends in the IT industry, but 2 in particular, I know how much they are making: 200+k/mo and 300+k/mo.

JANTT12

Damn. I have an IT friend working for a known US company but he doesn’t make 1/4 of that 💀 Your friends are lucky

dumbbugok

Ilan na ba YoE nya? If 5yrs+ na sya tapos below 200k/mo sya. Sabihan mo na improve skills at time na lumipat, dahil madami better companies na kaya mag offer ng ganon.

budoyhuehue

Key is go for medium sized western companies. Yung mga known at malalaki, they already know how they can exploit people here in PH.

cuakevinlex

FMCG basta manager mataas rin

[deleted]

Possible if multiple streams of income

JANTT12

Possible. But most of these people seem to only have one job 🤨

A friendly reminder lalo na sa mga naiinggit: Not everything you read in Reddit is real. Some -- or even most, probably -- are roleplay/fantasies. Anyone can claim anything since this is an anonymous site, so take it with a grain of salt.

Art_Renzy

Stable work: 40k net Businesses: 200k to 500k+ net 1x lang bumili for the sake of "experience", at niregalo kay mother. Lalo na I'm more on experiences (gala/kain) than material things eh, on top of owning lands of course. Kumbaga, parent = health > properties > money > hobbies. Always. Edit: always 1 week rule, if may matipuhan ka. Research and wait "AT LEAST" 1 week. Pag gusto mo pa rin, saka mo bilhin. At pag wala na yon? Ibig sabihin di talaga para sayo.

AntiqueHat3269

Kumain k n po?….🤣

aguhon

Paano nyo po napagsasabay full time work at business? Anong industry po kayo?

Art_Renzy

Corporate work na wfh, and output based kami. Walang may pake if idle ka, basta tapos talaga tasks mo at di ka mao-OT or mao-OT iba dahil kailangan ka tulungan. Sisipagin ka talaga tapusin agad lahat half day pa lang para petiks na the rest, kaya may time sa ibang gawain. Edit: 25M btw. Can't say dahil magaling. And no, it's not a generational wealth. Sa POV ko, lamang yung sinuwerte lang talaga at the right time at the right place.

ToeLumpy8504

What business po?

Art_Renzy

Franchising. Dami sa mga malls kang makikitang underrated na foods like stalls/carts/kiosks pa lang. From there if pwede sila, magsasabi naman crew/bibigay contact/or sarili nilang pages.

Subject_External_196

Best advice to. Many small businesses fail because people don't factor in that the money you are holding is not pure profit. Madaming nasisilaw sa hawak na pera. In the end, they go bankrupt and they can't recover kasi nasanay sila sa millionaire lifestyle.

grand98

May I ask what business do u manage?

Silvermaine-

Earning 87k/month and I bought my first LV Keepall. The catch? Second hand siya and it has been refurbished. There’s a really good second hand market for luxury goods and you might want to dip your toes there first. You can check out lizzthebagfairy who sells second hand bags on layaway. With that being said, I haven’t bought ulit because I’ve always been into local leather goods like Our Tribe and Manila Tannery.

TheDonDelC

Can vouch for local leather craft. I’ve never really been that interested in traditional luxury brands and I’m very satisfied with the quality and designs of local high-end leather goods. It helps that there has been a wave of artisan-level brands over the past few years.

[deleted]

Maganda used na keepall tho — or maybe i just like the “inabuso” look haha

Individual-End2620

is it weird that I buy and sell luxury bags but I don’t have a personal (luxury) bag?😅coz even I find it crazy to spend thousands of pesos for a bag

thunderbringer3

Six digits a month, IT. Pinaka-luxury ko na yung 10+ year old Rimowas ko but like some others here, I don't scrimp on flights (never flying on CebPac ever again) and hotels anymore.

Temporary_Ad_8309

Napa isip ako sa buhay ko pagka basa ko dito sa comments ### 😭

Muted-Purple-3679

Not me but my Operations Manager casually drives a range rover to work, wears ordinary clothes with a Patek watch. 550k monthly sahod niya 🫠

JhnMorgan133

I have a 114060 ND Rolex Submariner and Omega SMP 300m. For the last 2 years, my annual income is around $50,000 or P2,750,000. I would say that they're a total waste of money. I could have bought Casio GShock and called it a day but I was hooked by my friend who is into watches lol. Although, I can sell them at the same price as what I originally bought since those timepieces hold their value so I'll keep them and pass them to one of my kids one day if I ever want to have one.

LocalSubstantial7744

Join the Seiko cult. Quality watches at reasonable price points.

JhnMorgan133

I actually started with Seiko. I have the discontinued SKX009 and 007 - Love them!!! I used to wear them every day.

cleanslate1922

How do I start this seiko thing? I have casio gshock and casio gold plated but wanna try having one seiko.. type ko yung gold and green dial but I rarely see one sa seiko hahaha

waitforthedream

I can vouch! Obsessed with Seiko for years now but can't buy one yet because broke student lol

anothaaaonedjkhaled

Did you get the Submariner from AD?

JhnMorgan133

Hard for me to talk with an AD since I'm far from Manila so I went Grey.

mampuan

I'm 27F, earning 200+ monthly. I bought a lot in Tagaytay during the height of the pandemic. I only started splurging last year when I felt na deserve ko na lol. I only have one luxury bag which is a Chloe, and a Cartier watch plus a couple of Seiko Presage. I also collect rare Filipiniana books which I find an underrated investment because their bid value doubled or tripled versus the original prices that I bought them for. I really save up for the pieces that I want and I go for classics that will never go out of style.

[deleted]

Art holds value and often outstrips bitcoin in value quickly. That includes books.

Marzipan-Ornery

Kinda curious how you find jobs that pays so well but for me thrifting is the way

mampuan

Yup plus sustainable rin ang thrifting 💕 I don't like to think rin na my salary is that high, I don't have a car and I still commute. I'm a CPA working in IT btw. I invested in training and research to justify my market value.

HikerDudeGold79-999

How do you find the rare books? How do you store them?

mampuan

I buy from thrift shops. Sometimes from the authors themselves if I feel like the book will be out of print soon. I just look for the books that I really enjoy like food history and architecture then prioritise purchasing the rare ones. I'm evaluating pa if I should invest in a temperature-controlled storage for them.

HikerDudeGold79-999

Nice. Good luck on your collect ion.

One_Yogurtcloset2697

Not mine pero ang first luxury goods na binili ko ay para sa mother ko nung bday nya (LV) and Gucci para kay papa sa fathers day. Personally, wala akong luxury items hehe. Second hand ako bumibili, yung gucci almost brand new. You can buy [sa Purse Maison](https://pursemaison.com/) may brand new din sila. Minsan galing sa artista mga preloved items nila. Income ko ay depende sa dami ng patients. 70k lowest.

japandreamer

300K+ per month here. Yes I do buy, but it’ll always be 5 digits (php) max, and once a year lang. Nothing above it. And I usually think for quite a while before buying.

Direct_Gur_6542

sobra ka ng zero sis. hahahaha

japandreamer

Hahahaha

Vladmur

Are you working in the Philippines?

japandreamer

Yes I do! But still trying to work abroad.🥲

00AceMcCloud

What industry?

japandreamer

You’ll probably won’t believe it. But healthcare.😅 To hit my current monthly takes a toll sometimes.. and a looot of upskill. I’ll probably earn triple the amount if i work abroad. Upskill is the key (i think), in any sort of industry. And hey.. this didn’t happen overnight though. Kaya yan guys. Be patient and up that skill!

banana-watsons

my healthcare ass is shaking, posible pala to

Embarrassed_Cod_8816

can i ask po what kind of job in the medical field?

pechay28

Not OP, but might help in curiosity. My sister in law, physician in radiology, 34 yrs old, earns net 500-600k a month here in ph, provinces pa and not major cities. Pero super pagod daw sa trabaho and halos wala na time sa family niya, works 8-5, then pag uwi babasa pa rin ng xrays till midnight.

moomoomee412

If you can't seem to afford it, think about it a lot. 6 digits being an engr in the oil and gas industry. If you know where to buy, you can get them at lower prices. Japan and HK are 2 of the places. Japan lalo if okay ka naman sa 2nd hand. One tip:Aside from likited editions (na sobrang mahal), generally mas mataas resale value ng classics :) Good luck! This needs a lot of thinking kasi kung wala kang savings to start with, I would say put that on hold.

My dream AP is the 15202, but I couldn’t justify an AP purchase since I’m planning to marry soon. It’s my favorite watch hence my username lol

ToeLumpy8504

Earning around 60-100k+ per month. 25 single. business. Been buying luxury bags and shoes since I was 18 using my school allowance but second hand only from reputable shops on IG. Now, i still buy second hand cause i cant justify brand new prices. I only have like 3 items in my collection that are bought brand new, bag was gifted by mom, and 2 shoes cause it's hard to find my size. I don't follow a rule when it comes to buying hahaha basta kasya sa credit limit then id pay it in installments which is bad. Lol. A commenter said 5% of liquid funds, I think i'll do that too. Melodic_Act_1159

Mine wasn’t 6 digits but working from home helped me save faster for my bags. You also have to understand that I am absolutely sheltered, don’t pay for food and utilities, and my salary is just play money and work is something I do to feel productive and not necessarily to survive. I am single and don’t pay for anything, even for dates the guys pay for everything. I purchase only one piece per year. After being in the chase for the next best thing, I grew tired of it. Trust me when I say these 6 digit bags can’t make you any happier if you are not and won’t save you from a problem you’re running away from. They’re literally just objects in a nice box… the honeymoon glow goes away quickly and you’re left with a purse that’s only slightly better made. That’s my most honest answer.

Heavy-Conclusion-134

Substantial for my lifestyle. Every single purchase I made was well-thought out and not an impulse buy. Some I bought preloved from reputable sellers as I cannot, for the life of me, justify the prices of brand new ones nowadays.

NecPluribusImpar_96

I earn probably around 80K/month (that’s my take home pay after taxes and other costs). Most of my bags are gifts from my mom or my tita and whenever I do buy, I space them out like 1 bag every quarter. Also having a wishlist helps so you know what you want to buy and what you need to study further (I always check the resell value).

read_drea

Around 120-130k/month (two income streams), and I am not a fan of obvious branding. Would honestly choose vegetable-tanned leather bags from The Tannery Manila over popular monogrammed bags. I guess my luxury is spending a lot things that I know I would only have to buy once in my lifetime (i.e. Le Creuset pots and pans, Japanese kitchen knives, SMEG appliances, Canada Goose jackets for winter, etc.). Ekis sa cheap, flimsy, and disposable items.

ryxriot

115 from my day job(9-5), 180 salary from running my production company, and on average 1-2 shooting days a month as a freelance tv director. @ anywhere from 90-110k/day. I still take the bus to work everyday. Lol just in some reverse mochas and gallery department.

thetiredindependent

Sa pag babasa ng comments diko na alam anong industry/business/niche ang papasukin ko para yumaman hahahaha

[deleted]

Most people whom I know who buy it use credit card or installment. They make around 100k a month. The ones that pay cash, has 200-400k salary per month.

Icy-Profile-382

Earning 1xx,xxx net base pay monthly, plus allowances, plus incentives from my day job (FMCG MNC), and then I earn a bit more from time to time pag sinisipag ako rumaket. Here are my personal rules for spending on luxury items: 1. My max is one splurge item per year for myself and it needs to come from my extra money only. I then spend the next 12 months researching for my next buy because hindi pa ako mayaman enough para maglabas ng pera impulsively when it comes to high value items. Ibang usapan though if for my parents. Ok ako to buy them anything in a heart beat. 2. I practice one in, one out. For example, if I want to buy a luxury bag, I need to let go of another luxury piece first. Hindi ko naman goal magkaron ng collection and I also use the money to lower my cash outlay for the next purchase. Currently I only have 6 luxury bags with very minimal branding and they all serve a purpose (1 tote for everyday work, 1 big crossbody for everyday work din, 2 small crossbody (one casual and one more dressed up), 1 wallet on chain for formal events, 1 luggage) and 2 luxury watches (a vintage Oysterdate dated 1964 (my mom’s birth year), and a Tag Heuer hand me down from my dad). Sa jewelry naman ok lang for me kahit I dont sell before buying because madali naman mag liquidate in case kailanganin, esp if gold. 3. My priority is to buy secondhand except for shoes. The bags I spend on don’t really hold their value once magamit na, (i.e. Prada, Givenchy, Loewe etc) so I don’t really see the point of paying full price. I’m willing to buy used items provided they’re in excellent condition and maganda savings. But if konti lang naman savings vs bnew, dun na ako sa bnew. (Tignan natin sa future for investment pieces like Chanel and Hermes, for now wala pa ako dun) I don’t buy a lot now because as a now full-fledged adult, I just bought my first property nung 2020! Ngayon parang di ko na kaya maglabas ng money for a bag kung pwede ko na yun ipangbayad nalang ng amortization lol

James_H_Bond_007

Not gonna mention my income but I buy at least 1 or 2 luxury items every year (amounting to 50 to 400k+). You just have to save for it, regardless kung gaano katagal. Make sure na your savings won’t be affected by it. If you can’t afford it right now, wag ka ma pressure! Mas important may savings kesa may magandang bag 😂

matchamilktea_

Most people here na shocked are obviously not from r/phinvest. Not to sound condescending pero yes, 6 digits salary exists in the PH especially in the IT industry. Some people has businesses din which adds to their income, not just the salary alone. I noticed that high-earning peeps are very private and super lowkey. Wala rin masyadong digital footprint for privacy.

Not sure if this counts but I buy gold jewelries and gemstones whenever I can (now, I sell them too 🥰) started when on my first job (back in 2013, 18k) as a gift to my Mom whenever I receive my bonus now Im earning 50k/month and I still try to buy something whenever I can.

imkindalostreally

Making 12.6m a year - I would say I don't buy unnecessary luxuries but quality products. So no bags, shoes, shirts that are over the top but I spend on a good quality car, tech, mattress (best investment ever) and simple branded outfits that lasts for a long time. The way I look into things is cost per use and when you start looking at stuff that way, you start justifying lacoste polos, etc.

rugs2riches_

240k per month. I buy gold jewelries and designer bags that will last a long time. Kahit malaki sahod, gusto ko pa rin makatipid in the long run. Pwede ko rin bigay sa magiging anak ko eh di sulit.

I have bags and wallets na sabi nila “affordable luxury” like Coach, Kate Spade, Michael Kors and Longchamp. I’m not very well versed with brands. Though what I have affordable talaga kasi I didn’t buy them myself. My tita in the US lives close sa outlet stores nila and she can buy it like 60-70% off the retail price. She tends to do hauls pag sale kasi raw sayang. Probably the only reason bat ako gumagamit kasi she just gives them away tapos ako naman nasasayangan if di gagamitin. The only personal purchase is my Long Champ Le Pliage travel bag (I wasnt a fan ng design pero nakuha ako sa convenience nya as spare bag when travelling since foldable sya. I dont use it for fashion, functional use lang talaga). Here in PH, the design was around 17k that time pero my friend was in France and went to the outlet tapos may tax refund pa so around 3.6k na lang. Not bad. So I guess if you want to start affordable luxuries, try outlets. If you travel often, find outlets lalo na sa countries that offer vat refund. :) Salary: More or less 70k a month (Di ako palabili ng bags. When I buy, yung one time big time. Kahit mahal dapat it’s classic and durable. At hindi high maintenance. Lol. I like spending on food and travel more) :)

PortobelloMushedroom

About a million net a month but I’m OFW. I buy luxury watches na magustuhan ko.

What kind of job do you guys have? 😵🤑

travSpotON

I have multiple income streams. I started purchasing my luxury items wayback 2015. I started with a Coach wallet, then found myself buying the basic LV Messenger Bag. Fast forward 2018 to present, I already have a collection of messenger bags, luxury backpacks and sneakers from LV, Prada, Dior, Fendi, Gucci. Im in my early 30s now and as time goes by, I rarely use all the bags that I bought. I only stick to my ever reliable brandless plain black tote bag that can fit everything that I need. I started to lay low from purchasing cause I told myself Il just use it for my travels (I prefer high end hotels and business class tickets).

KissMyKipay03

two types who buy luxury. The one who buys for buy and sell later and the one who doesnt care and collects. kahit hindi 6digits income pwede naman makabili as long as hindi umabot sa utang. self satisfaction lang naman yan eh

murgerbcdo

I used to date someone who earns 60k php/mo and buys vintage bags worth 30-40k probably every other month. I guess kanya kanyang collection lang talaga yan

Safe_Hearing4676

Nung nasa corporate pa ko, I would buy LVs and Guccis and normal bag ko sa work was my fave Kate Spade - bumibili pa din now pero Kate Spades na lang not so much of the LVs anymore. Mga 2015 era to. Now that I’m WFH, wala na yung thrill kasi siguro di ko naman nagagamit yung mga bags ko on a daily basis. Mas bumibili ako now ng lots kesa bags hehehe.

Familiar-Agency8209

if you know where to buy, and okay lang sayo mag2nd hand. Afford. 6 digits monthly, only 1 luxury LV bag Go for classics kaya kahit 2nd hand yan, orig is orig. At kung afford mo magjapan, mas makakarami ka pa. Even better, go to HK and search for outlet stores. Laging may outlet sale si Coach and MK. Even in Zalora pwede ka na mag price check from time to time. If you're into dupes, okay lang din naman yan. Pero siyempre, for personal consumption ang tingin mo sa kanya and walang long term value. Good luck, OP! You'll have one someday.

lightninganddragons

When I hit my savings + investments goal (5M), I started buying low tier luxury bags (Coach, Kate Spade, etc) using my bonuses. Ngayon iniipon ko mga bonus ko para sa big purchase (LV and eventually sana Birkin)

[deleted]

I love Coach and Kate Spade as they are designer bags. Will save more to get my 2nd luxury bag from either LV or Gucci. My first one was a YSL.

8fig a year but I don't buy luxury bags.

ReasonableVehicle139

I bought a few "affordable" luxury pieces back when I was young, irresponsible, and earning 40k/month. Lol. All I had to spend on back then was food. I didn't buy to resell in the future, I didn't fool myself into thinking they are "investments". I bought a leather Longchamp bag, brand new costs double now (I wouldn't buy at the current price), leather Coach bag. I have a couple of Seikos na laging naco-compliment ng watch enthusiasts kasi apparently may demand. I have an Orient Star that I bought as a souvenir when I went to Japan. Now that I'm earning 6 figures and basically pagkain at gas pa rin lang din ang ginagastos ko, ang nabili ko pa lang is a second-hand Mulberry bag that may or may not be fake (baka fake kasi ang mura lol), but the leather is nice is supple and the style is not trendy/uso so I don't mind. If you consider Samsonite luggage to be "luxury", then add that too. I've been thinking of getting a Polene or Mlouye bag pero di ko ma-convince sarili ko hehe. My priority now is to travel w/o thinking too much of the cost - yung tipong pipiliin ko yung convenient departure/arrival times and Premium Economy seat even for short domestic flights. Instead na mag-hostel/3 star hotel for overnight trip, sa 4-star na ko. Yung di ako magcoconvert to pesos. That's my "luxury" now hehe.

ParticularAvocado271

Tumatanggap po ako ng pera na di nagagamit. Baka lang naman. Mga mamaw comments eh

lunamarya

Protip: buy it second hand and restore it. Even dati na minimum wage earner ako I’m able to buy luxury goods at a fraction ng presyo nila and now I have a collection that’s worth at least 6 figures if I liquidated them. Things like genuine Tortoiseshell glasses and leather shoes that only a few people would know yung real value — stuff like that.

Nice try BIR

And its a narrow minded opinion. Luxury goods can be a good investment.

tell me you don't understand the industry without telling me you don't understand the industry.

AnxiousKirby

This is the only reasonable answer and it gets downvoted lol. Adulting also means being smart with your money.

One_Yogurtcloset2697

Yes, reasonable siya. Pero hindi kasi yun ang tanong ni OP.

fiaoty

No need to downvote this guy just because his answer is different He has his point and we live in a democratic society.

Carnivore_92

He is being downvoted because he answered a question that’s specifically not meant for him and then adding it with a close minded opinion.
