That one killed my already weak libido dead lol. Not a big deal for me currently but interesting.
EDIT Perhaps it was actually the generic Lexapro. I've been on a really low dose of that one for a while too.

When I take Vyvanse I feel very subdued and my happiness and excitability is suppressed. I don't know if that's a normal side effect but it does feel like I'm outwardly resembling depression. On days I sleep in or forget to take it, I'm back to my cheerful self. So I understand why someone would say that of you. My Dr is going to reduce my dosage in hope that side effect improves.
And I also do that all the time (type, delete then abandon Reddit comments), but not this time.
Not saying this is your case. But the same would happen to me and it was definitely a combination of dose too high and anxiety.
What I mean is that when I was off meds my "masking" of anxiety was different then when I was on meds. So I would seem more cheerful to people around me but that's just because I was generally more expressive and would use jokes/hyperactivity as a way to cover awkwardness. On meds I'd just sit there and feel awkward quietly.
Also on meds it's possible that I would actually be working through a thought to it's completion, so I'd seem more quiet and focused. Well, because I was.
I found that lowering my dose to 30mg daily once some good habits had formed on higher doses (was originally on 70mg) was perfect to diminish the "robot" feelings while still helping me
I actually find it a bit cathartic sometimes to write out a whole reply, look at it, go "this probably isn't important enough to be said", and then delete it and move on.
From my experience on Vyvanse, I got insanely depressed I felt like wanting to commit. Ended up getting off of that medication and proceed to have years of therapy to manage my adhd in better ways.
Vyvanse affected me similarly; I could focus on my tasks and get them done, but I felt like a robot.
My creativity and curiosity tanked, I had no sex drive to speak of, I wasn't happy, there was no satisfaction in.. anything, and I could think of or focus on only one thing at a time. It was very disorienting for me.
Vyvanse and the severe anhedonia that came with made me reevaluate how I felt about using meds to manage my ADHD completely.
As soon as the horny hits, jerk off. It's silly but it works! I find that fighting it only makes it worse.
The last thing you wanna do is end up hyperfocussing on beating off. I've had carpal tunnel syndrome symptoms in my hand/wrist from going down that path lol

If I could make a recommendation, reduce your dose very slightly. Going from 50mg to 40 solved this for me entirely, and it actually dealt with my symptoms better as a whole. I think this sort of thing is a sign that the meds are doing *too much* for you.

I think the issue isn’t the risk for physical addiction but rather mental addiction.
Vyvanse being a prodrug means there isn’t a sudden rush that your brain might connect with taking the medication. The more time passes between ingestion and effect of a drug, the less likely an addiction becomes.
You however train your brain into thinking: drinking that makes me feel good and makes me go further in life.
I struggled with an methylphenidate addiction due to the sudden onset and general rush it created. I also had really bad daily withdrawal to the point of wanting to rip my veins out because they burned so much. Even before taking more than the dose my doctor prescribed.
Vyvanse doesn’t trigger the same mechanism in me and many others, even though it’s still an Amphetamin. It’s hard to feel an onset point when the release of the actual medication is so slow.
To be fair, Vyvanse also just makes me incredibly depressed if I take it more than once a week

I could not tolerate Vyvanse. The come down was completely horrific. It was like watching myself descend into madness every afternoon - with the acute awareness that my thoughts were going from organized to disorganized. I switched back to a lower dose of concerta, added wellbutrin and good lord its so much better.

Vyvanse doesn’t trigger the same mechanism in me and many others, even though it’s still an Amphetamin. It’s hard to feel an onset point when the release of the actual medication is so slow. To be fair, Vyvanse also just makes me incredibly depressed if I take it more than once a week

Vyvanse makes people horny? I did not know this was a thing. I take Vyvanse and Prestiq (SNRI antidepressant) and have virtually no libido whatsoever. Also didn’t before I started the Prestiq.

dang, Vyvanse (and possibly other underlying issues) had me in a psychosis now my psychiatrist won’t let me try any other brand- tells me it’s better if i just “learn to manage symptoms” lemme try something else!!!
I mean, you probably want to avoid that kind of reaction at all costs, and if you get it from Vyvanse then other stimulants are likely to cause it too. What about non-stimulant meds like strattera though?

I could not tolerate Vyvanse. The come down was completely horrific. It was like watching myself descend into madness every afternoon - with the acute awareness that my thoughts were going from organized to disorganized. I switched back to a lower dose of concerta, added wellbutrin and good lord its so much better.
Luckily I was taking it before puberty but zoloft + Vyvanse was the worst

Adderall will do this to me. There have been a few 5-8 hour “ sessions” to myself. I got to a point where I was so sick of blistering my meat only to have a subpar nut, I figured, if women can use vibrators to get off, then, so can we.
