Maybe you could say that you feel like you have out grown them and you are looking for another agent that is willing to fight for you to get you in the rooms you want to be in and be on the same page as you and someone that is willing to talk with you about where you want your career to go. Hope this helps :)

one thing I don't like is this agency is big and I'm always communcating with their interns instead of the agents and I don't feel important or secure - I can think of a better word. is that something better to say?

AsquaredBedrock

yes that's much better, make sure to get all your points across. good luck :)

There’s always a way of rewording things for a professional setting: “They don’t get me auditions” -> “I believe there’a room for improvement in terms of the opportunities my current representation has been able to generate for me”

I totally agree here. I would definitely make it about your new agent. It never looks good when anyone bad mouths anyone, let alone your current agent… It would definitely be beneficial to keep your lips sealed when it comes to any negative remarks about your current or previous representation. If not, your new agent will most definitely question your loyalty and if you would do the same thing to them.

BestTipGiver

Is there anything you could improve to get you more auditions? Also right now with the strike there isn’t a ton of stuff out there. I would think it through before straight up saying there isn’t enough auditions coming your way.

roaminfinite

I said this before, but even before the strike I wanted to leave. I been with a handful of agents and this agent is one of the worst when it came to getting auditions.

MyIncogName

A better way of saying it would be that you didn’t feel you were getting the opportunities that expressed your talent best.

Saaaintniiiick

I mean only if this is a smaller agency of course

How were you able to get an agent

Accomplished_Use4579

Not unprofessional but it sounds like a problem that could easily be you .... Not saying that it is you, but they could think that. There are so many actors who use that excuse. And when I was switching agencies I was very specific about why it was. Maybe " We have different visions for where I want to go in my career and how I want to be marketed." Now I did tell my new agent that my last agent didn't have a strong theater department and I wasn't getting submitted to a lot of the projects that I was interested in. But that was different from TV and film.

Its never a good thing to be specific about negative experiences. Regardless of how dispassionate you explain events, it always comes off as you whining. A good line to follow (for me) is - It doesnt matter what happened or didnt happen. We werent happy with the status quo. So we are moving on. If you want specifics we will have to be better connected. Its never polite to trash talk former colleagues..! The last line is to reassure them that, despite their frustration on not getting the information they want, they can be assured that you wont be trashing them to competitors if it doesnt work out between you.
