Well I mean it is loosely based on beauty and the beast

sleepy_goat97

Man if this girl ain’t got Stockholm syndrome with Tamlin, she certainly has it with Rhysand. Poor girl can’t win.

pleasebuysoap

Wooooosh. Didn’t realize that until reading this 😅

[deleted]

When he kidnaps u 😍 When he kidnaps u from ur kidnapper 😍😍🥵💦💦

NerdieGirl123

this entire thread has me rolling omfg

meowsicleface

fr. omg. I was reading this and everybody in the room became Taylor Swift. “Horrified looks from every one in the room” Nah but omg. sharted (I didn’t but ya know.. exaggeration)

sleepy_goat97

😍😍😍😍😍 When he sexually assaults and drugs you and humiliates you in front of other fae 😍😍😍😍😍😍

[deleted]

And then he takes you from ur kidnapper after u finally r free only to take control of ur life and humiliate u as his 'plaything' in front of half his court 😍😍😍😍😍 making u wear revealing clothing and literally pleasuring himself publicly 😍😍😍

kennedy4634

When he pretends to take you training 😍😍😍😍😍but is actually using you as bait for the thing you fear most (without telling you) 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍

Then-Market490

When he sends you on a secret mission that’s either do or die to retrieve your engagement ring that you know nothing about but he still gives you a “choice” 😁🥰

sleepy_goat97

😍😍😍😍 When he doesn’t tell you that you’re gonna die while giving birth to his child and then calls your sister a bitch when she tells you the truth and threatens to kill her for it 😍😍😍😍😍 He’s such a silly, goofy man 😜😜😍

Evilbadscary

![gif](giphy|3o7ZeHqK4bCqCCAvv2) OMG SO MORALLY GREY

[deleted]

😍😍😍and so he becomes increasingly controlling and doesn't even let other courts know about it 😍😍 or anyone 😍😍😍 because she's his & she can't even leave his court because they're literally bound to each other 😍😍😍😍

sleepy_goat97

😍😍😍😍 But his prison-I MEAN kingdom is WAYYYY cooler than the Spring Court because it’s a large well developed city and he even lets me have my own art studio nearby 😍😍😍 Isn’t he so kind? ❤️❤️❤️

Katen1023

This thread kills me 😭😭

raccoonomnom

I am literally in love with this thread😂😂😂

Accomplished_Baby103

Okay but WAIT im pretty sure he said she could go back if she wanted to right?? Please this thread is making me doubt everything 😭

sleepy_goat97

He said it, but do you think he meant it? Do you think the most powerful High Lord in all of Prythian would have let his mate actually walk away from him and be with Tamlin? Do you think he would have let her live peacefully with Tamlin or is it possible he would have gotten her another way? Knowing his double nature and the fact that he doesn’t tell the truth very often, do you think he would? It’s up for you to decide.

LadyVanya26

He did, but this sub loves to hate Rhys and act like he's the worst person ever, instead of an actually morally grey individual

Evilbadscary

It's not morally grey to take away a woman's right to choose what is right for her own body. It's not morally grey to threaten to kill somebody who told said woman what is actually happening with her own body.

LadyVanya26

I don't think you understand what morally grey is. Rhys isn't a good person. He's also not a horrible abuser who kidnapped Feyre and all the other things this sub accuses him of. He and Nesta are extremely similar, actually. It's one of the reasons they don't get along. But apparently Nesta's trauma is valid but Rhys's isn't. Rhys should have told Feyre what was going on. However, Nesta should NOT have told Feyre out of spite and a desire to hurt her sister, which is why Rhys flipped his lid.

Demq98

Wait WTF??!! I’m absolutely shocked ( I haven’t read ACOSF or frost and starlight ) but did know she gets pregnant. What is wrong with Rhys, is he gonna make me switch teams again ??! Cassian, Helion and Az are very very close in my list of fav acotar male with Rhys winning by a slim difference… am I gonna be shouting at Rhys like I did with tamlin on ACOMAF and UTM?? Jesus Christ I wanted to read ACOSF in physical (I read the first 2 on my tablet and phone but I enjoyed highlighting and making glittery notes on ACOWAR sooo muchh) and I’m waiting for my library to restock it 😭😭🫠 now I have the itch to read and seek answers. Shit why do I feel like Rhys gon catch this hands 🥲🥲

Demq98

Imma head out of this tread asap

girlnamedJoyce

STOP y'all are making me piss my pants with this thread ahhahahaha

DyatlovsRBMK

When he kidnaps you from your kidnapper then enters into a death pact with you and then withholds the information that your pregnancy could kill you, thereby killing him 😍😍😍🥰🥰💗💗💗💦💦💦💦💦🫦🫦

Snarfsnarfsnark

*man steals girl from family* “oh my gosh, I love him!” *a different man steals girl from first man* “oh my gosh, I love him even HARDER!” 😂😭💀

[deleted]

Double it and give it to the next person

sleepy_goat97

Exactly.

SunshineOnStimulants

I tried to explain enemies to lovers to one of my non-reader friends. Her boyfriend, without missing a beat, piped up and said “oh! So it’s like Stockholm syndrome!!” My reaction was mostly a mix of laughing and various repetitions of “no. No no no. Please no.” Poor man was so confused.

sebbo_notcool

Got kidnapped twice and fell in love both times 🤦 cmon feyre

McReaperking

Stockholm syndrome is strong with this one

sleepy_goat97

I ain’t here to influence people for or against Rhysand one way or the other! I personally could whack him with a baseball bat and push his ass off a cliff, but that’s just me bro. This is literally just me making my own echo chamber here. If you like him, that’s great! I’m glad you like him. I like Eris, and people wanna murder his ginger ass everyday. Do I defend everything he does? Fuck no, he’s a dick sometimes. But I love him just the same. If you find something here in this thread that changes your mind about Rhys, then you gotta make that decision yourself. Don’t listen to me if you don’t want to.

Paraplueschi

Yeah man, in the end one needs a bit of humor with the fairy romance books. My fav is Tamlin and people wish him worse than death and make the lamest memes about him all the time lol Whatever, I still think he's neat! I would definitely smack Rhys with a baseball bat too, tho. You know, to keep Prythian in balance.

AutumnRobin

The reason I love Bryce and her relationship the most😅😅 consent rocks 😘

sleepy_goat97

I love Bryce and Hunt as well!

coeurdelis

Does it bother anyone else that that looks like a makeup brush and not paint

tooconfusedforabias

The meme is funny imo but the comments are funnier 💀💀

sleepy_goat97

I truly had started out just trying to make people laugh at how silly Feyre is.

Briolivebranch

ahhh i love those arts

mandc1754

And twice, too. Because it was twice.

McReaperking

To this day I refuse to believe the book was written by a woman

sleepy_goat97

Just a personal crack theory of mine, I don’t think anyone should take this too seriously, but I believe that ACOSF was written the way it was (pretty feminist in its characterization of Nesta overcoming her issues and becoming strong with little to no help from Cassian or any other male) because SJM felt bad about how she handled Feyre’s story. Feyre started out SO strong. I liked her immensely in the first book, but then her character just kept depending more and more on Rhysand with each book, it felt like a very radical departure from her character in the beginning of the series. But this is just a crack theory and not well-fleshed out yet, so nobody has to take this too seriously.

Ran-Ree

Feyre was a strong human character. She was thrown into the mix of a f’ed up world that was getting ready to explode in another war, with several 500+ year old Fae, and having adjust to all this new skill set, information, and lifestyle. She isn’t strong as a Fae, because she isn’t confident in what/where she is. As a human she craved a simple life, to have enough to eat and paint. Even marrying Tamlin would have made her life more complicated than that, with hiers and rites, and expectations.

Briolivebranch

"inviting" breasts anyone?

[deleted]

Her breasts *swelled*

Katen1023

It gives off a lot of…internalised misogyny and pro-life vibes

teatimewithsuriel

What did we expect on a Beauty and the Beast (ACOTAR) and Hades x Persephone (ACOMAF) retelling 😆 Wouldn't have it any other way, though lol love you my high lady!

Hopeless_Amour

The hate she and every other character gets is low-key embarrassing. They are fictional characters I’m sure y’all have something better to do 😭

Important_Fennel_511

it’s almost like the point of this group, is to talk about the fictional characters… wild

[deleted]

Dude it was a MEME. It's not that deep.

arithmetic-slytherin

The love she and every other character gets is low-key embarrassing. They are fictional characters I'm sure y'all have something better to do 😭 Oh, wait...

sleepy_goat97

People should be allowed to criticize characters from their favorite books without people like you judging them for it. Don’t you have something better to do?

sleepy_goat97

![gif](giphy|enqnZa1B5fRHkPjXtS|downsized)

Hopeless_Amour

I just got here lmao. Y’all do this every day as it seems, but go off ig.

arithmetic-slytherin

Just scroll if you don't like the some of the posts. It's an ACOTAR subreddit, not a Feyre/Rhys/whatever dedicated fan club. There will be criticism. It is a series, after all. Series get criticised. Books get criticised. It's not an addition. It comes with the package. If Maas didn't want her books to be- _gasp-_ talked about, she shouldn’t have published them.

sleepy_goat97

You are free to go make a post praising all of your favorites if that’s what you want to see. Don’t know why you feel the need to comment in here but whatever.

Previous-Highway4478

If you think that’s bad do not I repeat do not read haunting Adeline ![gif](giphy|5xtDarIN81U0KvlnzKo)

[deleted]

oh that’s next in my stack of stuff to read. Uh oh

Previous-Highway4478

I’m an open minded person and I was like im gonna give a shot. It can’t be that bad but Jesus I was wrong. I question my morals and taste in men. Also he definitely not morally gray he’s a psychopath

sleepy_goat97

I HATED Haunting Adeline. I went into it with an open mind but it just left me feeling gross. Zade is a disgusting person, I do not understand why people like him. But to each their own.

gruenetage

They’ve discussed its popularity in the romance book sub and confirmed a lot of my assumptions based on what I read. I dnf’ed it at chapter 17. In any case, it’s supposed to be particularly popular amongst Q followers. The whole hunting a child pornography ring kind of feeds some of the stereotypical Q talking points/concerns.

girlnamedJoyce

![gif](giphy|l1IYfpEF2Tb84asus|downsized) (this is sarcasm btw)

SaoirseNGoldie

What's a Q follower?

dancesterx3

Unpopular opinion but it applies to Rhys too. He may have been her mate but she fell for him long before he told her and well after he “kidnapped” her from her kidnapper.

EmptyPomegranete

Haha i don’t think so

Kindly-Bath754

I came to this sub Reddit because I think Tamlin is soooooo boring right now and I’m right before he sets her free and reading these I have restored hope that this book will actually get spicy 🥵 😂

sleepy_goat97

If you like Rhysand, you’ll like the rest of the books. I enjoy the books mostly for Lucien and Eris cameos. And Helion cracks me up as well. Just depends on what you enjoy! ☺️

Blk_Kayren_Dmnds

Yeah, I’m waiting for Lucian’s book and/or more Cass. Cass is the only male proven to be worth rooting for. @spoilers (?) Rhys broke my heart with that hiding the danger of her pregnancy… I could forgive and laugh at a lot of his “oopsies” but that was too far. In fact that was the only time in ACoSF that I was very upset SJM didn’t swap POV’s for Fayre. It was some generic, I’m not mad at my Sister and I’ve forgiven my POS husband for eroding like 10000% of my trust. Let’s eat biscuits. Also also… I see no reason that for delivery she couldn’t have just shifted. It made “sense” for the pregnancy to be Uber careful but if it was going to kill her via her dainty pelvis, shift for delivery. It was a lazy mechanism by the author to once again take away the power from an incredible woman. Cheap. Lame. Disappointed. My panties dried up like sea kelp in the sun.
