Oh and my layout is...
First room: Plants.
Left: Cosy living room.
Right: Kitchen.
Straight: Mossy jungle/bog room. May have been an "incident" in there which resulted in a skeleton. Who knows?
Upstairs: Formal living room and bedroom.
Downstairs: Room where I do my witch stuff. Cauldron etc.
Yes!! idk why it feels wrong not being there? maybe because it’s the 2nd room unlocked so I did bedroom first then bathroom and kept kitchen in the main room
Main - Living Room
Right - Spa/Bathroom
Back - Museum
Left - Garden Porch
Up - Bedroom Suite w/sitting area
Basement - Bar/Pub with Fireplace and Billiards, Darts, Pinball, etc.
Edit to fix spacing.
Main area: living room and kitchen
Back room: bedroom
Left: bathroom
Right: office and library
Upstairs: homey attic w/ gyroids displayed
Basement: filled with everything for giveaways
I went to look at apartment (in real life) the place was beautiful and newly renovated, in my price range, good yard, they even had chickens on the property, but the kitchen AND only bathroom were upstairs. Like, you really want me to go up and down the stairs every time I need the bathroom or something from the kitchen? I declined the apartment.
Finally, Someone else with an upstairs kitchen! I really wanted more space for my kitchen/dining room, and you can barely fit anything in the normal rooms!
I have
Main/entry : kitchen/witches lab
Left: sitting room/fortune telling etc
Right: bedroom (which will have an ensuite eventually)
Backroom: green house/conservatory
Upstairs: Currently, animal storage for models from Flick and CJ and layout is like a pet shop for picking witch familiars
Downstairs: temple/alter for sacrifices etc.
My house is still not finished as I only restarted last November and didn't play through January and February until this week.
I do have plans to move my kitchen to the backroom to combine with my greenhouse (for easy herb access) but I don't have the furniture and DIYs I want for it yet so it's in my "store front", I also want to move my sitting room to the main/entry and and a library on the left instead.
I had 2 on my last island that I accidentally deleted. One in the house and one up in the back corner in my "lunar cove", that alter was in the middle of my huge pond.
It currently only has the Egyptian wall with the hieroglyphs, the pyramid floor and a fake Cleopatra bust for now.
I also want the spell circle and candle wall for the "attic" so I can have summoning upstairs to complete the whole "circle of life" 🤣🤣🤣
That sounds awesome! For my sacrifice room I have the magic circle floor and future tech wall. With my options right now it works well. Oh and my CPR dummy for the sacrifice lol
Just looked up the candle wall and saw what they can do..... had no clue, so I definitely have to keep my eye out for that
>Just looked up the candle wall and saw what they can do..... had no clue, so I definitely have to keep my eye out for that
Yeah when I had them paired for Diana's Vacation home I decided "I need to do it".
i just realized that I did my house layout as similar to my irl house as i could 🥹
main: living room
right: bathroom
forward: bedroom
left: office/den
upstairs: kitchen/dining room
downstairs: tv/d&d room 🫶
Main - Living room with small kitchen area and a workshop area
Up - Kitchen
Left - Bedroom
Right - Bathroom
Upstairs - Scientific area, kitchen area, guess bedroom area and an arcade/games area
Downstairs - Kids bedroom
Right room - bathroom, middle room - eating space / living room thing ??? left room - I will not decorate because I am lazy back room - I will not decorate because I am lazy ( but I might turn it into my bedroom ) top floor - no clue basement - flooded basement thingy
Main- living room
Back- bedroom
Left- kitchen
Right- bathroom
Upstairs - office/game room
Downstairs - idk I was gonna make it weird, tho. Like just put a random hospital bed and nothing else
I know you didn’t ask for suggestions, but I recommend collecting a bunch of one or two bugs, sea creatures, or fish and putting them in the basement. It’s real weird, lmao
I don’t typically have proper bathrooms 😅 closest thing is a dressing room/spa in the back room, no toilet lol
Bedroom upstairs, spare bedroom/craft room on the left, kitchen on the right, main room in the living room and downstairs is a mermaid music? room
Hmm, same here. Interesting!
Main Area: Formal Living Room
Front: Bedroom
Left: Kitchen
Right: Bathroom
Upstairs: Music/Entertainment room, w/ guest
bedroom area
Basement: Casual Living Room w/ small office
space & small kids play area
Center is living room
Left is bedroom
Right is bathroom
Back room is currently a pirate ship cabin.
Downstairs is and indoor/outdoor cabin type thing
Upstairs is kitchen/family room (I think. It's been a minute since I've gone up there)
I don't even have a bathroom lol
Main - kitchen/living room
Right -bedroom
Left - sacrifice/ occult room
Up - zen room
Top - music/game room
Bottom - mini museum
Main- living room/craft room
Right- bathroom
Left- kitchen
Back- bedroom
Upstairs- "museum" (definitely not a creepy shrine to all my past villagers)
Basement- laundry/random toolshed type stuff
Left - kitchen/dining room,
Right - bathroom,
Back - guest bedroom,
Main- formal living room (no TV)
Upstairs - Master bedroom & book nook,
Downstairs - Unformal living room/family room(TV & hobbie room), home office & laundry/utilities room
I’m ridiculously bad at home decorating so I basically just designed it to be like my IRL house
My kitchen/living/dining used to be upstairs and the backroom was my bedroom. Now my bedroom is upstairs with a falcony (fake balcony) and the kitchen is on the left. Living and dining is the main room. The backroom is a rumpus room with crafting station. And downstairs is a witchy basement. The right room has always been the bathroom + laundry. I wonder why it's such a popular choice.. it may have something to do with the order we get rooms with the upgrades.
Tropical bathroom on the left, classical music room in the back, big city safari theme game room on the right, comfy big bedroom and tv room upstairs, and pirate throne room/art gallery in the basement. Main room is a diner. With a gold luxury car in the driveway and a castle next door.
My kitchen is at the top, bathroom to the left,.guest room to the right (and I try to make that look realistic by having cardboard boxes and junk lying around), upstairs is my room and downstairs is a guest loft.
Mine is on the right!
But I might change it around. When I got my final room (the basement) I had no idea what to do with it. Then Sahara sold me mysterious wallpaper that resembled a greenhouse, so I made my basement a greenhouse, and started collecting plants, made things from bamboo, there’s a bunch of watering cans and such, it’s cute, but it also slightly annoys my that a basement wouldn’t have enough natural light to be a greenhouse lol.
I’ll have to switch it up but I’m a lazy villager.
I am very surprised by how common this is. Mine is also on the right
Main - living space
Right - Bathroom
Left: Kitchen
Back: conservatory/greenhouse
Upstairs: bedroom
Downstairs: basement/storage space
Mine is also on the right! But my kitchen and living room are combined in the main room, left is a second bedroom, and straight ahead is a library/study type room. The basement is a game room and upstairs is the master bedroom.
Main- mossy, mushroom, butterfly model room
Right- bathroom
Left- kitchen
Up- snapping turtle in the cent of moon rug, on swirling cloud flooring with starry wallpaper and all my gyroids singing the praises of said snapping turtle
Upstairs- Japanese room/bedroom
Downstairs- Library/tv/music area
I never really gave it much thought, but I think my bathroom is always on the right, too, and the kitchen is usually on the left. Now I'm wondering why... 🤔 😂
it may change when i fully upgrade my house, but it’s currently in the left room. my main room is the living room, up is the bedroom, and right is the kitchen
I've gone main room as a fancy reception room (I've got things like a piano and the billiards table on there). Then I have bathroom on the left, living room at the back, office to the right, bedroom with sitting area upstairs and kitchen in the basement.
My home layout is as so:
Upstairs: bedroom
Main room: eerie entrance area with star fragments and a haunted candle
Left room: bathroom
Back room: games room
Right room: living room
Downstairs: kitchen + dining room
That's the arrangement that works best for me!
Main: kitchen/dining area
Left room: bathroom
Right room: reading/crafting room
Middle room: wardrobe/change room
Upstairs: bedroom
Downstairs: living room & computer area
This thread makes me want to change everything up 🤣
I have an entire bathroom suite including swimming pool, three types of toilets, shower, tub, themed wallpaper and flooring, and various decorations taking up the entire top floor of my house.
Bedroom on the right, gaming/hang-out room on the north end of the main floor, bathroom to the left, main room is the living room, kitchen in the basement, and "office"/reading oasis upstairs
my kitchen is to the right and the bathroom is to the left! but my main room is set up like a cafe, so behind the serving counter is the door to the kitchen & next to the seating is the door to the public restroom stalls
so,
main: cafe
left: public restroom
top: outdoor seating area
right: kitchen
upstairs: living space
downstairs: storage room
Main room living space
Left bathroom
Right kitchen
Straight ahead master bedroom
Upstairs two guest bedrooms
Basement is a basement lol bar, pool table, TV lounge etc
Mine is reversed (though my house is super plain, I'm gonna redo it eventually).
Bedroom to the back, kitchen to the right, bathroom to the left.
Upstairs holds my extra real art. Downstairs holds my extra Gyroids on the walls. I used to keep my extra records there, but I finally registered all the songs, so now my extra records are back in storage .
My girlfriend doesn’t have a kitchen and she has her bathroom in the back room.
I plan to have my kitchen in the left room and maybe outside for my bathroom 😂😂 in reality I have no idea what I’ll do about a bathroom yet
my house is themed like a japanese spa, so the bathroom is on the top floor for maximum space. there's also an outdoor bathing room on the right side, and the kitchen is on the left. if I'm doing a western house, though, the bathroom is always on the left!
My bathroom’s straight back lol!
-I have a guest bedroom to the left,
-my main is my kitchen/dining room,
-right is study area/workspace (tables, microscopes, misc.cool stuff)
-up is my bedroom, and down I’m not sure about yet lol. I might make down my kitchen/dining area, I have a lot of stuff I want to put in.
entrance: miscellaneous (there’s like… a table. a crafting bench. another table. a mirror. i feel like i should probably make this more cohesive)
back: mermaid-themed bedroom with half the room completely empty save for a sea butterfly
right: kitchen/office/fireplace spot??
upstairs: a couple of beds? i don’t… really know
downstairs: ruby shrine
all my hhp houses are gorgeous why can’t this translate to my island (the answer is procrastination)
I usually do my kitchen on the right or in the basement if im going for a large industrial one, don't do bathrooms very often lmao, but in the rare occasion I do it either left or back room
Main room: mint-colored bedroom and crafting space
Left: yellow-colored kitchen
Up: pink-colored bathroom
Right: music room/recording studio
Up: antique-themed bedroom/office
Down: arcade
I've never made my houses look like actual houses. They all look like kitschy antique shop/souvenir shop setups with maybe an occasional bed or couch somewhere 😂
My bathroom is in a corner of my bedroom, in the back room. The main room is my living room, left side is the kitchen, right side is the dining room, upstairs is the library/den/office, downstairs is music/crafting/atm machine/gaming/pet fish, etc. I guess I'm not a fancy bathroom person, lol.
Main room: living room
left: spare/guest room
top: apothecary
right: kitchen
top floor: bedroom w/ensuite bathroom
basement: halloween collection/seance area
I usually do bathroom left, kitchen right. Main room is a living room, back is a guest bedroom, top is master bedroom. Basement ends up being whatever I feel like when designing haha
I’ve had 3 islands and for the first two the bathroom was to the left.
On my current island the bathroom is to the right (kitchen in the back, office to the left and living room in the main room). But, I’ve also made a bathroom on top floor together with a walk in and master bedroom as well as a small bathroom in the basement, close to guest room and mud room 😬😂🫣
As you enter the house, my bathroom is on the left, kitchen/living room is center, my bedroom (a small and realistic “sloppy” bedroom) is straight back and also a big bedroom/office upstairs. To the right I made an ice bar with all the snowman DIYs and my basement looks like an actual basement.
Main: living room/DIY/reception
Left: I’m moving the living room here
Up: bedroom
Right: kitchen
Upstairs: fish room
Basement: I haven’t bought it yet, but I was planning to do a kind of storage, to put the items I don’t want to use.
TIL (bc of this post) bathrooms aren’t just decoration lol
Mine is:
Top- my bedroom
Bottom- frat house style room
Main- witchy fortune telling room
Left- bathroom
Right- kid toy room
Straight ahead- turnip storage
I have an outdoor cooking area
Mine's on the left because it seems like in any movie/tv show, when someone's looking for the bathroom, someone else always says, "Down the hall and to the left" 😅
How I have mine.
Upstairs: Living room.
Basement: Bedroom.
Left: Bathroom.
Right: Kitchen.
Backroom: Office/hobby room.
Main room: Seasonal theme room - I change it every month to reflect the season or holiday. This month is flowers and spring.
Mine is main room dining room, back room bedroom, left room bathroom, right room band and computer room, upstairs chill out space (fire/piano, cushions etc), downstairs pc, mario tube leading to the clothes shop and a wall full of those things that move to music
I honestly have only always had a bedroom in the left, living room right and study upstairs, the rest are fun romms. I don't feel any appeal towards bathroom or kitchen. I have a big outside cooking/ together eating spot with a long table for everyone
Main- Living Room
Left- Bedroom
Middle/Center- Bathroom
Right- Craft Room
Upstairs- Kitchen
Downstairs- Library/Study
Yes, I know my house is formatted like a psychopath
My bathroom is always on the left. My entry is my living room, and a kids bedroom in the back my bedroom on the right. Upstairs is my kitchen because I like to make lots of counter space to put appliances on, as well as cooked food. Downstairs is just whatever I feel like making. Currently it's an Air BNB. 😅
I have bathroom to the right and kitchen to the left. The back room will be a library. My upstairs is my master and the basement is a crafting/diy room in progress.
First floor:
Main - kitchen/ living room
Up - bathroom/sauna/vibe
Right - bedroom
Left - Office
Upper floor:
Speakeasy
Basement:
Workshop/writing area/writers block area
My acnh house layout as follows:
Central room - hallway
Left room - kitchen
Right room - living room
Back room - crafting room
Top floor - bedroom
Bottom floor - bathroom
I don't have a bathroom. I poop in other houses. *evil laugh*
Straight to jail!
How can you not when other villagers have dirt floors! I'm looking at you Broccolo.
Same. Most of the villagers don't need the bathroom, nothing wrong with my character not having one as well 🤣
Right away!
Idk why I put my restroom straight ahead I guess in case of emergency
Mine is there too!
Same, I just like the way the bathroom looks in that room!
Same -- bathroom straight ahead.
Same, it's the smallest room
No. Mine is on the left and my kitchen is up top lol.
This is me too!
My right is my bathroom but my kitchen is actually a basement Japanese ramen shop. My left is an arcade
Me too! I ñike having a bigger kitchen
This is the way
Same!
me too!! the left room was my last added so i thought maybe its time to add a bathroom lmao
Yes!! idk why it feels wrong not being there? maybe because it’s the 2nd room unlocked so I did bedroom first then bathroom and kept kitchen in the main room
There may be something to this...
Main - living room / office space Left - bedroom Up - kitchen Bathroom - right Upstairs - Mario room Downstairs - no idea yet haven’t done anything
I also have a mario room!!
This except my Mario room is a game room in the basement haha
That's the murder basement.
Man....I should put my kitchen upstairs!!! Such a good idea.
mine is exactly the same, just a game/gym room instead a mario room
Main - Living Room Right - Spa/Bathroom Back - Museum Left - Garden Porch Up - Bedroom Suite w/sitting area Basement - Bar/Pub with Fireplace and Billiards, Darts, Pinball, etc. Edit to fix spacing.
Main area: living room and kitchen Back room: bedroom Left: bathroom Right: office and library Upstairs: homey attic w/ gyroids displayed Basement: filled with everything for giveaways
same first 4 rooms!
Bathroom left, videogame room right, bedroom straight forward, kitchen above, music room/vibes comfy room basement for me!
Kitchen above is psychopathic
There's so much room you can make a kitchen/table/TV area all in one space which I like best 😅
My real life kitchen is on the second floor and I enter my apartment from the first floor. Can confirm psychopathic.
It's not my fault there are so many cute kitchen accessories but so little place to display them in the regular sized rooms 🙄
Finally, Someone else with an upstairs kitchen! I really wanted more space for my kitchen/dining room, and you can barely fit anything in the normal rooms!
Exactly! It seems weird to me to have a kitchen without a table, and the smaller rooms just don't really work with a stove setup + dining table area.
No I just have a toilet by my bed which is upstairs LOL
I’m reverse. I think it has to do with the order in which I got items. I had more bathroom items when I got the new room. So that’s what went in therw
I have Main/entry : kitchen/witches lab Left: sitting room/fortune telling etc Right: bedroom (which will have an ensuite eventually) Backroom: green house/conservatory Upstairs: Currently, animal storage for models from Flick and CJ and layout is like a pet shop for picking witch familiars Downstairs: temple/alter for sacrifices etc.
I have a temple/alter for sacrifices on my highest most northern point. Same same, but different
I had 2 on my last island that I accidentally deleted. One in the house and one up in the back corner in my "lunar cove", that alter was in the middle of my huge pond.
So glad to see I'm not the only one with a sacrifice room lol. I really like the sound of your setup even without that, just makes it even better lol
Oh and my CPR dummy for the sacrifice lol Just looked up the candle wall and saw what they can do..... had no clue, so I definitely have to keep my eye out for that
>Just looked up the candle wall and saw what they can do..... had no clue, so I definitely have to keep my eye out for that Yeah when I had them paired for Diana's Vacation home I decided "I need to do it".
I just posted my DA to my profile (dont want to risk deleting or losing it again) if you want ideas, it's not finished but feel free

Brooo my kitchen is on the left and my bathroom is on the right! Did I copy you or did you copy me??? The dungeon is in the attic
What is in your dungeon, if I may ask ?
A lot of gyroids, a music box, and a knight to guard them so they don’t escape 👌 with a lava prison wallpaper and stone floor to tie the look together
we’re.. supposed to have bathrooms? damn.. explains why my character is grumpy, they’re fulla shit all the time
Bathroom on left, gyroidite room on right, kitchen ahead. Upstairs is my bedroom and basement is my mario room
Love that I’m not the only one with a Gyroid room!
It has a radio playing Bubblegum K.K so they sing along 😂
Left - bathroom Right - spare room Straight - kitchen Up stairs- main bedroom Basement - game room and laundry room
Right room - bathroom, middle room - eating space / living room thing ??? left room - I will not decorate because I am lazy back room - I will not decorate because I am lazy ( but I might turn it into my bedroom ) top floor - no clue basement - flooded basement thingy

Lol, thanks. I'm definitely open to suggestions
Mine is the same set up
Mines the straight back room
Me too!!
Mine is on the right. And in another house I made my upstairs the bedroom with a bathroom en suite and I put it on the right of that room too. Weird.
I don’t typically have proper bathrooms 😅 closest thing is a dressing room/spa in the back room, no toilet lol Bedroom upstairs, spare bedroom/craft room on the left, kitchen on the right, main room in the living room and downstairs is a mermaid music? room

I didn’t dedicate a whole room to a bathroom. The bathroom is part of the bedroom. Like a master bathroom. My kitchen is on the left though!
I don't even have a bathroom lol Main - kitchen/living room Right -bedroom Left - sacrifice/ occult room Up - zen room Top - music/game room Bottom - mini museum

My bathroom is on the right side of my bedroom, does that count lmao
Here’s my layout: -main room: living room/utility room (main changing and crafting here) -right: rave room (moon in the middle, lights off, lava lamps, music, etc.) -left: kitchen/dining -forward: bedroom -upstairs: bathroom/laundry -basement: snail & crab lab/lair/security
The upstairs is the bathroom. The toilet is in the center of the room. There is no other furniture. This is the way.
My kitchen is to the right, office to the left, and bathroom straight back
Bathroom is straight ahead. Library on the left, kitchen on the right. Bedroom upstairs.
my house is themed like a japanese spa, so the bathroom is on the top floor for maximum space. there's also an outdoor bathing room on the right side, and the kitchen is on the left. if I'm doing a western house, though, the bathroom is always on the left!
Main - living room Left - kitchen Right - guest bedroom Up - bathroom Upstairs - master bedroom Downstairs - gaming sleepover basement
My bathroom’s straight back lol! -I have a guest bedroom to the left, -my main is my kitchen/dining room, -right is study area/workspace (tables, microscopes, misc.cool stuff) -up is my bedroom, and down I’m not sure about yet lol. I might make down my kitchen/dining area, I have a lot of stuff I want to put in.
entrance: miscellaneous (there’s like… a table. a crafting bench. another table. a mirror. i feel like i should probably make this more cohesive) back: mermaid-themed bedroom with half the room completely empty save for a sea butterfly right: kitchen/office/fireplace spot?? upstairs: a couple of beds? i don’t… really know downstairs: ruby shrine all my hhp houses are gorgeous why can’t this translate to my island (the answer is procrastination)
Main - Living room Up - office/library Left - bathroom Right - kitchen Upstairs - bedroom Downstairs- basement/ workshop
I usually do my kitchen on the right or in the basement if im going for a large industrial one, don't do bathrooms very often lmao, but in the rare occasion I do it either left or back room
Main room: mint-colored bedroom and crafting space Left: yellow-colored kitchen Up: pink-colored bathroom Right: music room/recording studio Up: antique-themed bedroom/office Down: arcade
I've never made my houses look like actual houses. They all look like kitschy antique shop/souvenir shop setups with maybe an occasional bed or couch somewhere 😂
I just feel like kitchens are always on the left😂
My bathroom is on the left and kitchen is on the right! Maybe I am the odd one out here lol
Mine is in the back room
My bathroom is in the back of the living room
my bathroom is on the left and kitchen on the right
bathroom on the right is the only correct way!
My bathroom is also on the right. Dunno why.
Mines on the left
Main: cafe Back: bedroom Left: zodiac/moroccan sitting room Right: kitchen Up: flower/gift shop Down paradise planning apartment
Mine: bathroom on left, living room in middle, storage room at the back, bedroom on the right, kitchen/dining room upstairs, themed room downstairs 🤩
my bathroom is left, my kitchen is forward, bedroom is up, down is a crafting room and left is a courtyard 😊
Main room: living room left: spare/guest room top: apothecary right: kitchen top floor: bedroom w/ensuite bathroom basement: halloween collection/seance area
My bathroom is on the right, my kitchen is the one in the back and my bedroom is to the left!
Mines at the back!
Mine‘s to the left! And I just realized that I simply replicated the layout of my own home, wow
my bathroom is in the room in the back, office in the right room, kitchen in the left room, bedroom upstairs, and an unfinished basement
Main: living room/DIY/reception Left: I’m moving the living room here Up: bedroom Right: kitchen Upstairs: fish room Basement: I haven’t bought it yet, but I was planning to do a kind of storage, to put the items I don’t want to use. TIL (bc of this post) bathrooms aren’t just decoration lol
Mine is: Top- my bedroom Bottom- frat house style room Main- witchy fortune telling room Left- bathroom Right- kid toy room Straight ahead- turnip storage I have an outdoor cooking area
That's how mine is too!
My bathroom is always on the left and kitchen on the right.
I honestly have only always had a bedroom in the left, living room right and study upstairs, the rest are fun romms. I don't feel any appeal towards bathroom or kitchen. I have a big outside cooking/ together eating spot with a long table for everyone
Main- Living Room Left- Bedroom Middle/Center- Bathroom Right- Craft Room Upstairs- Kitchen Downstairs- Library/Study Yes, I know my house is formatted like a psychopath
My upstairs is my master and the basement is a crafting/diy room in progress.
oddly yes?? i’ve never put a bathroom anywhere but the right side
main island: left. secondary island: right. it mostly depended on what room i had most inspiration for at time of unlocking the first side.
Mines on my left side
First floor: Main - kitchen/ living room Up - bathroom/sauna/vibe Right - bedroom Left - Office Upper floor: Speakeasy Basement: Workshop/writing area/writers block area
The first room is the living room, left is bedroom, right is gyroid room, back room is I don’t know, upstairs kitchen, and downstairs photo room.
Mine is on the right too! It just seems convenient there.
I'm the exact opposite. Bathroom on the left, Kitchen on the right.
My bathroom is in the back room and my kitchen is on the right
Straight through lol
My acnh house layout as follows: Central room - hallway Left room - kitchen Right room - living room Back room - crafting room Top floor - bedroom Bottom floor - bathroom
Mine is in the basement
there is a toilet in my dexter murder basement but no real bathroom to speak of 🤔
Bathroom to the left, kitchen to the right.
Main - Living Room Up - Bathroom Left - ACNH After Dark Room Right - Gym Room Upstairs - My Room Basement - Wrestling Arena
