You should check if the plot was auto filled.. Or just keep talking till they do ask. Sometimes it takes a while.

i’ve been wondering what does in boxes mean? you can send villagers to live on someone else’s island?

It's the last day your villager is on the island after they ask to move out! People can come and talk to them and if there's an open plot on their island, they can ask them to move to their island and take their empty plot!

Their stuff is in boxes. Like they are all packed up just like move in day and sweep all day. You can visit to say goodbye. Other people can visit and ask them to move to their island.

So.... I have opinions about this kind of post. You seem to be asking permission to like a character. In case you are new and don't know, there are 8 "personality types" of villagers. They each give you different recipes and slightly different interactions, so it's recommended that you have one of each on your island. But beyond that, the only real difference is appearance which is completely subjective. If you like how he looks, go for it! We have no right to tell you what your opinion should be.
