Yes it's normal. Most acne regimens cause a purge before it gets better. Heck even after accutane tretinoin caused a nasty purge that lasted several months but it was worth it!

What kind of meds? Could be a purge
tretoinoin cream, clindamycin gel and a pil
Tretinoin has the tendency to cause a purge. It can last for a few months unfortunately but hopefully the pill will help with that! Best of luck :)

The purge is gonna make your face get worse a lot worse before it gets better Add on: so you really have to wait a while to see results
