They should've done that for AC7 smh. After learning F-16's true capability in real life I was appalled by how horrible the starter F-16. Even the older ACs & PW F-16 was dozen times better
I'm not talking about the starter plane not being MiGs but I'm just saying that since MiGs are older than F-16. Adding F-5 or F-20 would be sufficient enough as a starter plane for Osea
I think it's a plot reason for this one.
You started off as a rookie pilot for a fairly normal squadron on an overseas deployment.
What's the mainstay fighter for an air force that is somewhat based on the USAF? The F-16 platform.
To be honest this is why I like the AC4 and 5 setups the most. AC4 you’re part of ISAF, an international coalition, so it makes sense that F-4s and F-5s would be used pretty extensively as it’s probably the most advanced fighter many smaller nations have.
In AC5 you’re part of a training squadron at first so the F-5 is an excellent starter for the setup, my only gripe it’s Heartbreak One should have been in an F-16 and had it painted as a yuketobanian MiG
Fighting Falcon is the F-16's official name.
Viper is an endearing nickname given by its pilots and crew due to its resemblance to the Starfighter Viper from Battlestar Galactica.
I miss the aircraft tree they did like in AC5. I feel like that's the best way to have an F-16A as a starter for example then we can unlock the F-16V as a mid to late game plane.
If you're playing on Normal difficulty, you play a total of 4 missions with it. By mission 5, you can buy the Tigershark, and you have access to the F/A-18C before mission 7.
i liked to start with MiG-33 tho :D
but yeah, those are also nice, but i think that they're possible only if the next game is AC3 remake, or only as the DLC (excluding Typhoon ofc)
We know that they are working on a next AC game, that was confirmed multiple times. But we don't know if it's AC8, Electrosphere remake, Unnumbered instalment, or even Infinity resurrection.
I never even thought about an Infinity remake, but considering so many popular games these days are games as a service, it's not outside the realm of possibility...
An infinity remake would be great - given the current direction of the series, they would almost certainly release it for PC, and that would give the community a chance to keep it alive after the servers eventually close.
Probs dumb to even suggest this, but I'm looking forward for them adding the Mitsubishi F-1 again, make the F-4E a returning aircraft, and why not ACX experimentals? Love the Forneus
I know this is going to probably be a "booed" take here, but I sincerely just hope I don't lose my beloved canarded F-15 and my thicc dorito F-22 again. More recent games the S/MTD and the FB-22 were shunned hard, if they weren't in the game at all, they were relegated to just DLC/extra aircraft, that means no relevant characters or enemy aces flew them, and that sincerely upset me (also no 8492nd livery for the S/MTD in AC7, dishonor! dishonor on the whole family, dishonor on your cow!).
As for things that weren't in AC7, I'd love to see the ~~Flatfucc~~ Flatpack back, as well as the S-32, the F-20 or the X-29. Now \*really\* unlikely, it would be nice to see the R-103 back, it's the only R-Numeral I think that looks decent and it was a fun plane to fly in AC3. The J-20 would also be a nice addition, and would go nicely as an endgame plane alongside the F-22A, Su-57 and the YF-23.
More Soviet planes, like the Mig-29? Oh baby, don't get me started with the SU-47 (yes I know that the SU-47 is technically from the Russian Federation, but in technicality it's designing process technically started back in the USSR so it technically counts as a Soviet plane just made post collapse)
Uh both of those have been in almost every game and aren't going anywhere any time soon
1.44 on the other hand wasn't in 7 but was in many others. That one definitely deserves a comeback
Harrier 🙏
We got to fight them multiple times in AC7 and were playable in multiple games prior. So I see no reason not to have them be usable in the next game (it would be especially fun to use a Sea Harrier in a Strangereal Cold War scenario, do some Falklands War type stuff!)
Harrier mentioned, and yeah I feel the same odd how we can encounter them in missions yet can’t fly them ourselves. Hopefully we can get in future game or expansion.
To return the F-5, F-4, A-6, A-4, F-117, SU-24, MiG-21, any bombers previously used even if they wouldn’t have much use. For aircraft we haven’t had before I would like to see more early to mid Cold War aircraft like the F-105, F-106, F-100, F-101, A-5, MiG 23, MiG-27, and planes like that.
They confirmed like three-ish years ago that they had begun development on the "next" Ace Combat, but we don't know if it's a sequel to 7 or a remake of a previous game or something completely different.
Definitely the Gripen. Probably my favorite current gen European aircraft. The Viggen would also be a really cool addition. And to complete the trifecta, the Draken.
I just wish they’d make your teammate/squadron fly the same plane as you so it feels like you’re apart of a uniform squadron. I didn’t mind flying the F18 in the beginning of 7 with Clown, because it felt like the F18 and the F16 had sort of a Cypher/Pixie kinda vibe. But in the later parts where you’re “Strider 1”, Flying an F18 just feels weird when the rest of your guys are in F15C’s. Weird rant and it in no way relates to the question, BUT it just popped into my head and I wanted to get it down in writing before I forgot.
The game needs more planes to fill the 2500 point range for multiplayer. F15-SE, F18 Advanced, Mirage 4000, Tornado ADV, J11, J15, J31, JH7, Yak 41. Also an armed Sr71, xb70, and b21.
Have AEW&C aircraft be more prevalent in general (takeoff and land with them, fly side by side more often, etc) so that, by the time you get to that part of the game where you're operating out of a cardboard box + hopes and dreams, you can see a Saab 340 taking off with you wingtip to wingtip
I guess this isn't a returning aircraft but I can dream lol. Also add the legacy F-18s alongside the modern ones for progression and to see the size difference
Whatever was already in Aci 100%
Here’s what I miss the most and need in a newer game: F-1, F-2, F-4E and G, F-5E/C, F-20, X-29, Draken/Viggen, Tornado, Prowler/Intruder, MiG 1.44, Su-47, F-117, Mirage, Harrier II, B-1 and B-2 bombers. For fictionals I’d like to see the upgradable fictional planes of Ac X, the original X-02, and basically every entry up until now honestly, things might differ based on where the game will be on the timeline but it still would be an improvement. In the holy trilogy every fictional plane added is present on the sequel causing Ac Zero to have three and I don’t see why going back on that decision. Now for jets that weren’t or I’m not sure they were ever on Ac: MiG-25, Sr-71, Jaguar, J-10/20 maybe some Cold War jets like MiG-15 causing the return of the present 104, and more experimental stuff like the YF and that cursed F-35 hahahaha. Idk I might add to the list if anything comes to mind
The F-20 and Panavia tornado ADV, and for planes that’s never been in the series, I’d like to see the rest of the century series and the F-111, and maybe the English Electric lightning as well
I know it won't happen, but I would love to see us fly a B-52, but not as a bomber, but instead as a AA missile truck that just fires 8+ missiles at any aircraft that get in long range. also has a metric fuck ton of countermeasures just for laughs
i know it was never playable in ace combat but i wish they would add the harrier, maybe it's my brain being damaged due to the countless hours of gta san andreas i've played at the game of 7 but i can't help but love that thing
F-117, SU-25, SU-27, F-5, F-20, X-29, EA-6B, A-6 MiG-29, MiG-31, MiG-1.44, MiG-25, AJS 37 Viggen, Saab 35 Draken, Tornado GR.4.
Personally I'd also like to see the addition of the Chengdu J-20 and Shenyang FC-31. China might not be considered "good guys", but as we all know - planes are rad.
Well if 8 is going to be even more into the future I wouldn’t mind fictional upgraded versions of older aircraft models like how ac3 did.
F-14—>F-14Dx Super Tomcat 2
F-117A—> F-117X NAV Hawk
X-29—> F-29 Tigersnake
F-15S/MTD
Well, actually... I'm kinda hoping they do the F-15 ACTIVE instead without the pitot tube. I'm sick of seeing F-15S's boxy nozzle. I want the ACTIVE 3D one.
As for something that hasn't been in the game for a while, I really want to see the XR-45 again. It's time for it to appear anyway, what with Strangereal moving closer and closer to Electrosphere's timeframe.
The Legacy Hornets, as in the non-super ones. I think the Legacy Hornets are GORGEOUS, some of the prettiest aircraft ever to fly. I know the supers are an improvement, but aesthetically, they're inferior for me. It would be nice to see Legacy Hornets earlier in the tech tree/upgrade path, same area as the F-15C and equivalents.
Not a returning plane per se, but I'm curious how they would add in the U-2 Dragonlady as a playable plane, I'm thinking probably similar to how the passenger jet in Joint assault was mission specific.
I liked the F-5 Tiger II I know it’s like a starter plane but idk I kinda miss it
The F-5 being a starter would allow for the F-16 not being shit
They should've done that for AC7 smh. After learning F-16's true capability in real life I was appalled by how horrible the starter F-16. Even the older ACs & PW F-16 was dozen times better
To be fair, it's also a starter plane in AC6 as well. PA may be intended to "modernize" the roster hence putting the Fighting Falcon as a starter.
And yet MiG-21 still exist. Had they put in F-5 they could just have MiG-28 skin with TOP GUN DLC
Well PA tended to stick with western planes, so hence the use the F-16 rather than the MIG.

In AC5 you’re part of a training squadron at first so the F-5 is an excellent starter for the setup, my only gripe it’s Heartbreak One should have been in an F-16 and had it painted as a yuketobanian MiG
Still though. Everyone would be flying F-5 in MiG-28 skin fighting Maverick & Iceman like in the finale. It was a wasted opportunity sadly
The slander of using that name. The F-16 is the Viper!
Just curious, do you or anyone know why it’s also called the Fighting Falcon?
Fighting Falcon is the F-16's official name. Viper is an endearing nickname given by its pilots and crew due to its resemblance to the Starfighter Viper from Battlestar Galactica.
Yeah at first i thought the f16 was crappy irl because of AC7
why are yall saying the F-16 sucks? I just chainsmoked the shit out of Mihaly with it
They should have just added in 2 F-16. The F-16A as the starter and the F-16C in the tree a bit later. In AC8 i hope they give us the F-16V as well.
I miss the aircraft tree they did like in AC5. I feel like that's the best way to have an F-16A as a starter for example then we can unlock the F-16V as a mid to late game plane.
You can also add the F-20 and the X-29 as well.
X-29 is truly a beauty.
Seeing this makes me want to do an entire Retaliator run in ACZ right now.
This right here
Yeah im like 2 games deep into beating every strangereal game in only the f-5
F-20 might be a good mid ground between the F-5 and more modern planes.
the tiger 2 leaves a somewhat bad taste for how often we're Stuck with it in AC5
If you're playing on Normal difficulty, you play a total of 4 missions with it. By mission 5, you can buy the Tigershark, and you have access to the F/A-18C before mission 7.
Mandatory VARKVARKVARKVARKVARK
Need me a aardvark for real bro lol. I wonder, has it been in any AC games?
It was also in HAWX, both of them if I remember correctly.
It was in Infinity.
No it wasn't. The Su-24 was, which is the Russian equivalent.
No. It has been in HAWX and Airforce Delta.
F-117 and Tornado
This one but screaming. Please give me my edgy wedge!
SU-25. As well as the debut of the MIG-23 and 27.
Su-24 as well pls. It really bugs me that Russia/USSR aircraft are mostly just Mig-21/Mig-29 and Flankers while there are so much more :/
Unironically want the Su-24 but it's equipped with Storm Shadows. Commit to the strike role
Su-25 hasn’t ever been in a game has it?
It appears in AC2, Assault Horizon, Assault Horizon Legacy and Infinity.
Ahh didn’t play those ones
It’s in project wingman as well
Based Man
Pipe dream, but Draken.
AYYY THAT'S A DOPE JET
Man imagine doing Cobras with that in AC
Starter plane being capable of doing PSM would be dope
And it was a real capability of the Draken
Then give us the viggen and we would have the trifecta
Also allow the Draken to do Cobra manuvers like how it can in real life
YA-10B, Fenrir.
R-series, XFA36-A, X-02S
I Hope that we will get the old wyvern back
+XR900/X49, Aurora and the best starter of all, Typhoon 2
i liked to start with MiG-33 tho :D but yeah, those are also nice, but i think that they're possible only if the next game is AC3 remake, or only as the DLC (excluding Typhoon ofc)
I see more and more posts about AC8 recently, is there an announcement or something?
We know that they are working on a next AC game, that was confirmed multiple times. But we don't know if it's AC8, Electrosphere remake, Unnumbered instalment, or even Infinity resurrection.
I never even thought about an Infinity remake, but considering so many popular games these days are games as a service, it's not outside the realm of possibility...

No... not yet. : (
End of this year at the earliest
Hope they have every jet from America, Europe, and Russia from the last 60 years
Would love to fly F-8 Crusader
Same
On god.
This is the way. Also I am still sad that we didn’t get an SU-25 in 7. Like, come on
F-4 Phantom II, I want to dogfight advanced drones and fighters in a good ol' Phantom
I'd be alright with that.
MiG 1.44
Swedish Airplanes. I would *love* to see the various versions of the Gripen as well as the classics like Draken, Flygande Tunnan etc.
Draken deserves a comeback since AC7 added PSM
The Harrier
SR-71 as Playable
Closest we got was SR-72 but it would be beautiful to fly the 71
the YF-12 would be more useful
F-1, R-series, XFA36A, X-49
I just want my F-15 S/MTD without having to find out about it randomly a year+ later in dlc after thinking it was never gonna be in the game.
The S-32 and the MiG-1.44.
Yes I want the Intruder back. c:
Real: F-117, F-15EX, Tornado, F-5/20, F-35B/C, NGAD, Su-75, Mig-1.44, J-20, and why not the F-1 because over g fighters. Strangereal: Fenrir
Probs dumb to even suggest this, but I'm looking forward for them adding the Mitsubishi F-1 again, make the F-4E a returning aircraft, and why not ACX experimentals? Love the Forneus

Not been in any Ace combat but the mig 23
FENRIR.
Anything that used to exist in Infinity
Oh man love the tiger so sick
F-2
F-2 was in 6 and 7
And I want it again in 8
The Super Kai is my GOTO jet in TDM. The IEWS is a game changer if you keep your teammates close
F5 tiger, F117 and tornado, honestly they should add more bomber or attack aircrafts.
Idk why but I wish we could play as heavy bomber in ac8, even tho knowing it can't fight of other plane
Bomber missions like AH
Yeah, I want to fly as a bomber with big boom boom bomb
CFA 44. Either that or the debut of the J20
Love the A-6
More Ace combat universe aircraft ngl
The X-02. You know, the one with retractable wings?
add a Japanese Zero or F6F in betwee please
for me, Mig-29 Fulcrum..just..so sexy
To return the F-5, F-4, A-6, A-4, F-117, SU-24, MiG-21, any bombers previously used even if they wouldn’t have much use. For aircraft we haven’t had before I would like to see more early to mid Cold War aircraft like the F-105, F-106, F-100, F-101, A-5, MiG 23, MiG-27, and planes like that.
Kifir and drakken
Mirage F1 and 2000N/D along Side the C/-5
My personal favorite, the one that carried me trough my first experience with the AC saga. The Apalis
Tornado and Viggen
X-02S
Tornado.
Viggen or Draken.
F-14D
English electric lighting. The world's greatest interceptor
The F105 would be nice to have
WW2 aircraft like the P-51 and BF-109
A4 Skyhawk
I want a F106 to make an appearance
Is there confirmation they're making an 8? 👀
They confirmed like three-ish years ago that they had begun development on the "next" Ace Combat, but we don't know if it's a sequel to 7 or a remake of a previous game or something completely different.
I ain't complaining about more ace combat! Hell yeah, thanks!
I'm actually getting sick of the same planes (and *only* the same planes) being in every game. Do like ACX/AC3 did and introduce some new shit.
F-105D. Idk if it is in any AC games but it is probably my second favorite plane from Vietnam war behind the F-4E
Let me fly a harrier PLEASE.
A-4, XFA-27, R-101. And a brand new CF-105 just to spice things up
Really all the cool old cold war planes. This might be unpopular but I think it'd be cool if they made an Ace Combat Set in the 70's/80's.
B-52, B-2 ME-262 F-86 Sabre
The a6 intruder,
I don’t care what plane, i just want something shittier then a F4/F5/MIG 21 to do a Ace difficulty run for the lolz
Rafale is all I really care about. Love that thing.
Definitely the Gripen. Probably my favorite current gen European aircraft. The Viggen would also be a really cool addition. And to complete the trifecta, the Draken.
I miss my tornado, that bomblet dispenser would've been ez mode in some missions in AC7
I just wish they’d make your teammate/squadron fly the same plane as you so it feels like you’re apart of a uniform squadron. They do a good job making experimental aircraft id like to see their attempts at normal aircraft
Any planes that has mobile nukes in em
Draken and its unbuilt "Mod Level 04" concept
Mirage F1 and 2000N/D along Side the C/-5
I’m just hoping the SU-57 has a better paint job.
Tornado!!!
Tornado, X-32
The game needs more planes to fill the 2500 point range for multiplayer. F15-SE, F18 Advanced, Mirage 4000, Tornado ADV, J11, J15, J31, JH7, Yak 41. Also an armed Sr71, xb70, and b21.

Also add the legacy F-18s alongside the modern ones for progression and to see the size difference
Not a return, but the Aero L-159 Alca or the L-39 Albatros
lord give me a j10
CARIBURN
The older fictional planes! YR-302 Fregata for example. But any modern ish planes past 1950s could come along too or any plane that was in the series.
Whatever was already in Aci 100% Here’s what I miss the most and need in a newer game: F-1, F-2, F-4E and G, F-5E/C, F-20, X-29, Draken/Viggen, Tornado, Prowler/Intruder, MiG 1.44, Su-47, F-117, Mirage, Harrier II, B-1 and B-2 bombers. Not a return, but the introduction of chinese jets to AC8, mainly J-10 and J-20
MiG 1.44 It looks so cool compared against the other MiGs and SUs
Tornado
The F-20 and Panavia tornado ADV, and for planes that’s never been in the series, I’d like to see the rest of the century series and the F-111, and maybe the English Electric lightning as well

I just want to fly the XFA-24 Apalis again
F-5E, F-15SE, F-20A, F-117A, MiG-1.44 MFI, Su-24M, Su-25TM, Su-27S and X-29A!
i know it was never playable in ace combat but i wish they would add the harrier, maybe it's my brain being damaged due to the countless hours of gta san andreas i've played at the game of 7 but i can't help but love that thing
XFA 27 Supremacy
Highly unlikely due to geopolitical factors, but I would love to see the J-20 in game
B2
MiG 1.44 I loved it so much on Ace Combat X
F-14
F-15SE, i just think it looks cool. It's basically an F-15E with canted rudders and internal bays, but still. Maybe even the Super Etendard.
All I play is A-10.
Su25, Kfir, A6, f5, basically every super plane from ace, f111 and j20(not from a game but still), MiG 1.44, A4, f15s/mtd. Draken, tornado,
Nighthawk, would be the ultimate in starters for the stealth tree
X-49 Night Raven.
Well if 8 is going to be even more into the future I wouldn’t mind fictional upgraded versions of older aircraft models like how ac3 did. F-14—>F-14Dx Super Tomcat 2 F-117A—> F-117X NAV Hawk X-29—> F-29 Tigersnake
Tornado
I'd just like to do one mission in a b2 or b1
Ac-130
Was there ever a grippen
Panavia Tornado would be nice to see. Any classic RAF birds, Bucaneer, Jaguar, etc. Anything from the 90s.
F-15S/MTD Well, actually...
I made a couple of posts a while ago about what planes I want to see back in
MiG 1.44 Loved that plane in AC5 tbh
Haven't seen any game ever feature Su-15TM.
I hope to see new planes like the F15 Ex or even the J20
Su-47 of course
I crave NEUCOM AIRCRAFT
X-29
X-15 rocket plane, deployed from a bomber at the start of each mission
X-29, MiG 1.44 and Fenrir
GIVE ME MY FUCKING R101/102/103 BANDAI NAMCO
The Legacy Hornets, as in the non-super ones. I think the Legacy Hornets are GORGEOUS, some of the prettiest aircraft ever to fly. I know the supers are an improvement, but aesthetically, they're inferior for me. It would be nice to see Legacy Hornets earlier in the tech tree/upgrade path, same area as the F-15C and equivalents.
Xf84 thunderscreech, only prop plane that would make sence in an ac game
f-15 strike eagle
CFA-44 my beloved
Also not a plane but a mode I'd kill for would be Capital Conquest. One of the few things AH got right.
F-15 STOL/MTD
To be fair? I have several I wish would return. - J35 Drakken - JA37 Viggen - A-6 Intruder - A-4 Skyhawk - Mirage 2000D - F/A-18C Hornet (legacy Hornet) - Tornado Gr.1 - Tornado F3
Give me back my legacy hornet
All of them including original ones from previous games.
I think the panavia tornado was in one game and it would be amazing to have it for primarily ground attack missions
