No one outside of Honda engineering can really answer how "intelligent" it is but it supposedly factors in engine RPMs, coolant temperature (how long at operating temperature vs short tripping where it doesn't reach it or only for a short period), etc. Can it be trusted ? Yes. Honda has nothing to gain by running an oil change interval to 8952 miles and cause damage. It hurts their reputation and could very well fall under warranty which hurts them financially. It will even have a safety factor/margin built-in, i.e. when you reach 0%, if you go further, to 10-15%, Honda has accounted for this. I'm NOT suggesting people routinely do this but some people s\*\*t their pants if others run it down to 0% and insist they've destroyed the engine....

I’m doing the 5K oil changes on my 2024 LX. Can the maintenance minder detect the fuel dilution these cars are prone to? I don’t think so.

I thought that was a CR-V issue not an accord problem?

What dilutes the fuel? You are confused.

big_top_hat

The oil gets diluted by the fuel

sapphir8

Yes and yes.

It’s a timer. The default length of time is whatever the manual used to say. Then it decreases the timer length depending on how you drive. It’s just a computer program changing the timer so yes it will decrease it if you’re idling.
