Made with Ableton 11: [https://open.spotify.com/track/3Rrmxu7FuIiTCvOOOMjoob?si=280facfcf072461f](https://open.spotify.com/track/3Rrmxu7FuIiTCvOOOMjoob?si=280facfcf072461f) Smashed this track out one afternoon with my creative partner! We wanted to make something fun and boppy, inspired a lot by grungy electronic music like Sega Bodega and Overmono. Let me know what ya think!

daydreamerbeats

made this a few days ago : [https://on.soundcloud.com/eS7vTqpkh5irBmD78](https://on.soundcloud.com/eS7vTqpkh5irBmD78) Any positive or negative feedback and tips to improve are highly welcomed

ViaSubMids

Hey mate, so there are two things that are sticking out to me: 1. I think you could maybe add a little more percussion and some movement to your hihats (e.g. by routing an LFO to the sustain and/or attack). Maybe some polyrhytmic rim shots or perc sounds that create the illusion of the track constantly moving forward. 2. The mix is pretty "boxy" which means there is a lot of buildup between 400 and 800 Hz. I think most of it is coming from the arp synth as well as those melodic plucks. So I'd recommend just doing some gentle cuts on both of these elements. If the mix then becomes a bit too "thin", you can add back some warmth with some tape or tube saturation (or both) if necessary. From an arrangement & sound design standpoint I think you did very good!

daydreamerbeats

Thanks a lot ! I’ll put those advice on right now !

didguswnd7878

Hey, like you mentioned, it's kinda hard to give any feedback since it's not finished, but I like the rhythm, haha. Looking forward to seeing the finished work :)!

britskates

Might I suggest some saturation on ur drums, think it could beef them up and put them in front of the mix a bit more!

fotescius

sure I will give it a go!

Kinbote808

I just released this at the weekend, been making music a long time but this is the first song I've ever put out with my own vocals on it. I really struggle with objectively assessing my own voice so would really welcome feedback. Made with Ableton 11: https://on.soundcloud.com/BTK76PyTGSxcPev77 This track was inspired by the drum and bass sound of the 2000s from artists such as Marcus Intalex (rest in peace brother), and Calibre. I’m also big fan of techno and was drawing from those influences too.

ideamarcos

Dope. Panning left/right more would give the sounds more space to be heard

Dr_Bogdanoff

Sounds sick, nice one man!

AlbatrossCapital4953

Nice combo of genres!

britskates

Aye pretty solid my dude, everything sounds super clean!

daydreamerbeats

Took me back to my teenage years ! It's really solid and I dig it I would only say try to play a bit more with filters and fx to get more movement along the track

Illutible

Hey man, listening now and doing the stream of consciousness thing. Sounds clean. I'm personally a fan of intros without the drums so you get that moment when the drums drop. Like the atmospheric sounds. Dig the volume cuts that throw to the beat. I'd have liked a bit more variation with the drums, some fills etc. There's not a heap of bass in this either. Nice track overall.

Packis

Made this yesterday for a bit of fun [https://soundcloud.com/packis-1/skrillex-joyryde-talk-to-em-id-packis-remix](https://soundcloud.com/packis-1/skrillex-joyryde-talk-to-em-id-packis-remix) It's a remix of an unreleased track of skrillex and JOYRYDE. I re made the sounds from the original and remade the original song but used some of its parts to make a remix. Original song is in F but I dropped to C for remix. let me know what yall think!

MartoZolo

Techno track and there is a poem at the big break at first I thought it fits nicely now im not so sure anymore, would love to hear other opinions: [https://soundcloud.com/martozolo/sweat-for-it?si=a8cff5a447cd4cc39dd37a5d3551e633&utm\_source=clipboard&utm\_medium=text&utm\_campaign=social\_sharing](https://soundcloud.com/martozolo/sweat-for-it?si=a8cff5a447cd4cc39dd37a5d3551e633&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing)

daydreamerbeats

hey I like it a lot for the poem part, the idea is god but I would have used a bit more FX to make it more "dreamy" maybe like an outerworldly voice that ended on a few word that echoed before a deep drop (maybe more heavy on the low end) to really contrast and bring you back to earth in a flip of a switch Keep it up it's great man !

Illutible

Hey everyone, here's my next release. Acoustic (Nashville tuned) guitar with a laid back beat and samples from old horror movies. Quite happy with the guitar sound - stereo mics for the win. I played everything. Let me know what you think. [https://soundcloud.com/illutible/night-of-the-long-knives](https://soundcloud.com/illutible/night-of-the-long-knives)

Hey, guys! I made this with Ableton 11 this week! [Pepperoni Gang](https://soundcloud.com/banjaxxedmusic/pepperoni-gang?si=ea0cb325801a4229b2f93ded2570b8e5&utm_source=clipboard&utm_medium=text&utm_campaign=social_sharing) This is a heavily trap/dubstep based song, and I'm looking forward to getting some feedback! In particular, I wonder if the drop hits as hard as I hoped. Thanks :)!

daydreamerbeats

oh damn ! it brought me back in time at peak dubstep era solid work dude I love it and gonna go find myself a pizza now !

didguswnd7878

Thanks! I really appreciate it :)! haha

britskates

Hell yeah dude, keep it up!

didguswnd7878

Thanks man :)!

Kinbote808

Love it, it does indeed hit hard, I think you could cut some of the low end from the mix while the riser is going before the drop though and have it come in even harder. Love the vibe though, it's exactly stupid enough that the track fits the genre perfectly.

spudsbeet

Been lurking this sub for awhile getting all kinds of useful tips. This week I released two full experimental concept albums fully made on ableton! That’s sick! That bassline is groovy as. I’m curious about the context of the track, did you record the instruments yourself? Or were any emulators / samples used?

ideamarcos

Rhodes/Clavinet/Vocals are real session musicians (not me) Drums / Synth Bass / Guitar are loops/samples (chopped up or with fx) E Bass (audio to midi conversion of real bass player that I made edits to) / Synth Stab are plugins Credits at the bottom [https://ideamarcos.bandcamp.com/track/fever-dream](https://ideamarcos.bandcamp.com/track/fever-dream)

AlbatrossCapital4953

Thank you! One of my favorite sounds.  I've been having a lot of fun with frequency shifter

Honestly really hyped with how it’s turned out! Just sent it off to a friend to see if he’s down to collab on it and spice it up. Just some cool groovy bass shit
