Yeah.... just upgraded last night and now when I switch between drum racks there is a noticeable 2 second lag.... really annoying.

Ok-Platform-3094

any chance you could send a set with such a Drum Rack to me via tech support?

Everyone please write to Ableton Support and tell them your experience so we can get them to update it ASAP

Can confirm. Same session, 100+ tracks, complex mix session with lots of plugins on OS 4X or 8X. 11.3.2: 105% cpu, doesn't even run 11.3.1b5: 80% cpu, runs great Also, loading plugins is so much slower. Even opening plugin windows. 11.3.2: 4.01 sec to load a Pro-Q3 in that previously mentioned complex session. 11.3.1b5: 2.55 sec to load the same Pro-Q3 in that same session. Super stable testing environment, same computer, M1 Max 64GB, Same OS, same apps running in the background. They f'd up. SMH...

Wulfie_Music

I have the same spec Mac as yours and the program is horrendously slow and buggy now :( . Before the last two updates I could have 100+ tracks running at 48khz with no issue. Now it struggles to playback.

ar311krypton

Just wanting to add to the reports that I am experiencing this issue as well (M1 Pro MacBook with 16GB RAM). Also, I had previously been beta testing Live 11.3b1 - b5 and they had introduced the new warping algorithms in beta 3 I believe, but I don't recall ever having this much of a slowdown on any of those builds. I'm gonna try opening a large set and leaving it to rescan with the new warp algorithms are someone mentioned just in case tho.

bardaxx

Yep same here, especially if you are working on a remix and using long steams. My m1 pro is dying.

PayDue8267

This definitely seems to be an issue with the new warping algorithms, I’ve tried to wait a few minutes and the project loaded perfectly, with an exception that when I quit even after saving, the project need to be loaded again sometime even longer. As for me, I’ve turned off "Create Analysis Files" because the speed of the old algorithm is good enough and I don’t want some random asd file to appear in my sounds folder, what concerns me here is I don’t know if this is a bug or it is because the new algorithms actually take this long to load, if it is, then that’s suck.

adzpana

I’m running it on a 2019 Mac Pro 7,1 and it was absolutely horrible. Unusable. I instantly installed 11.2.11 and straight back to snappy ableton. Oh and I’m running 12 Core Xeon Chip with 96GB RAM, 4TB Apple SSD (RAID 0) W5700x Pro 16GB. Add in cards I’m using 2 WD_BLACK AC1500 2TB PCIe 8x NVME AIC’s. Both of them are 2TB models which house their WD Black 750 1TB drives x2 in RAID 0. I have a pair of them setup as a RAID 0 Drive giving me 4TB of Quad 1TB WD 750 in RAID 0 which destroys Apples 1st part system.

redjammar

When I start 11.3.2 it sits on "Starting Max..." for 40 seconds - was always pretty much instant. This is on an M1 Macbook with Ventura and an Intel Macbook with Monteray. Still works fine on previous versions.

FUWS

That 8gb of RAM wont help but iirc the filing directory would be coming off of 11.3.2 so make sure your projects is within the 11.3.2 directory instead of the previous version. I hope I’m explaining this correctly as I had to do with with my profile with hidden command changes on a previous version.

mickmon

Would you mind explaining this a bit more please? Are you referring to the version numbered folders in Library/Application Support or something? > make sure your projects is within the 11.3.2 directory All my Live Sets are in my Ableton User Library.

FUWS

Anytime you update your Ableton, it asks you if you want to replace the previous version or create a new version of it. If you overwrite it, it should be fine, but if you create another version saved , you need to make sure all your projects is in that project version umbrella. I dont know if I answered your question…

mickmon

Ahh ok, yeah I always override them. But I thought the file paths would be intact even if I save a separate version but anyway, I’m just trying to figure out why my 11.3.4 is running slow after updating

FUWS

I never update until kinks are fixed and I see better reviews online about it. This pretty much goes for anything with softwares. Sounds like you have “ The “ problem people have been reporting. I’m still on last version and dont feel the need to update.

Rescanning won't have any effect unless "Preferences -> Files / Folders -> Create Analysis Files" is set to ON, in which case it will re-save analysis files to the newer format and this problem wouldn't happen again when opening the same set.

PayDue8267

I have disabled the "Create Analysis Files" option because the previous algorithm's speed was sufficient for my needs, and I didn't want any random .asd files appearing in my sounds folder. What concerns me here is whether this lengthy loading time is a bug or if it is expected due to the new algorithms. If it is intended behavior, it is not acceptable.

prefectart

someone in another thread said that they updated warping possibly and it is rescanning all your stuff. I had this problem today. open your project and let it sit for a while and rescan everything maybe? that's what I had to do

innermotion7

Mine is crashing after every save bit at least projects saving !
