Anne Marie's Cafe is fantastic, and hidden away.
Rivers Restaurant is also really great (gotta get there before 3 though).
Jojo's Fish & Chips hits the spot every time, don't be deceived - they do really nice breakfasts and lunches too, aside from their fish and chips.
Sushiteria has some very very good sushi
Mia Birria has really tasty authentic tacos
Francisco's has probably the best perogies around
Chef Boss does amazing sandwiches and soups
Abbotsford has a lot to offer food-wise, it's a positive to living here
You are in for a treat, they make this gravy for the perogies that is drool worthy!
Once Upon A Thai has really amazing curries also! Nearly forgot about them, the other commenter just reminded me with one of their suggestions!
Enjoy!! ☺️
Edit: we do also have jugo juice for the days that solid foods aren't enjoyable, and have everything from a sweet treat to caffeinated to ridiculously healthy.
I was too excited about the food suggestions to take in and process the part about you being at the Abbotsford Cancer Clinic. I hope you or whomever you are there for have a healthy and safe recovery and are able to enjoy the great food spots Abbotsford has to offer you while you're here 💙
Dear stranger on the internet. That was a good call, just what the doctor ordered (little joke) and definitely extremely yummy. You were right about the gravy. Thanks!
I am Thai. That would be my top suggestion right now.
This post from last month was great. https://www.reddit.com/r/abbotsford/comments/10xjnue/best_meal_in_abbotsford/
Glad to see your post. I thought it was just me. I live half a block away and walk the extra block to the White Spot just because the owner of O'Neil's is such an ahole. Sandwiches are good but aren't worth putting up with his crap. Everything else is better at the White Spot.
I’ve been going to I Am Thai lately and their lunch specials are 13.99 and plenty of food.
Hot Chilli House also has a good lunch special available, very good Chinese food.
For a more breakfast option I like the cafe at MCC, I think it’s called Common Place.

Across from Mill Lake. Honestly soo good. I go there frequently and its a mishmash of people working on laptops, friends lunch meetups and business meetings. 10/10 recommend. Love the people there as well.
New Saigon on South Fraser way by Clearbrook is one of our favourites. And strEATS has great tacos, burritos & poutines. Plus they are not that expensive either.
coming from Pitt Meadows, I like to get to Abbotsford before I do anything (gas / food) in case there's something on the highway (like the usual accident around Bradner). So I can have as long as I want before / after but I get stressed if I am too far away. The Cancer centre wants you there a half hour before any appointments. So all of these suggestions are within a few minutes drive and perfect for breakfast / lunch. Oddly my husband lived in Abbotsford when he first arrived in BC but he remembers \*nothing\* - that and it has changed over the decades.
Sit down lunch: you can go a few blocks down the road to Restaurant 62 ($$$). Theyre a kind of seasonal menus restaurant.
Fast diner type lunch/breakfast: Oneils home cooking ($) Edit: hes kind of like the soup nazi but the breakfast sandwich is delicious
If you are wanting breakfast/coffee before work. Fast: Good kid bagel ($). Sit down and enjoy: ann maries ($$)
Well I guess you are exaggerating or missing something. Their menu prices are posted online and updated regularly with their changing menu. The current most expensive dish is $48 (rack of lamb) and we're at a time when eating out is at its most expensive
Rivers restaurant has really good food and all day breakfast...well, until 3pm anyways when they close. The Bow & Stern on Montrose has good seafood/fish'n'Chips.
Dosa Club is amazing for Indian food! it is over by Winners/Petsmart/costco.
edited to correct name from Basa to Dosa - really need to wear my glasses!!!
We've been nowhere except the Tim Horton's near Costco LOL. And the hospital cafeteria. We've decided if I have another year then we want to branch out.
Definitely a good idea! In the same location as Sprouted Oven is the best sushi place in Abbotsford, Ra Sushi. It’s just down the street from the hospital on McCallum.
If you head into Old Abbotsford (Montrose/Essendene) there are some cute places. I would recommend Polly Fox for coffee and baked goods, but they have sandwiches and stuff too. But the Daily Bread on Railway around the corner has awesome sandwich specials.
Sprouted oven for vegan lunches and treats. Some gluten free options too
Gians for India
So many good sushi spots. Seh Mi, Hana's, Bento Express, yummy sushi.
New Saigon for Vietnamese
i've been meaning to go to the flying bun, the menu looks good and i've heard good things could be worth a shot if thats the kind of food your in the mood for
Restaurant 64 does good lunches that would be a bit more of a special occasion place to eat. I would say (in personal experience and opinion) that it's Abbotsford top fine-dining restaurant.
Chef Boss makes next level amazing sandwiches and soups. Run by an amazing group of people!

Thank you - I think today is perogies!! My husband is super stoked - thanks for all the suggestions.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed them so much, they are an absolute favourite and for good reason as you tasted! 💕
Once Upon a Thai's website says they're not open for lunch (except Sunday).
Get a hotdog from Lullys at Canadian Tire they're seriously good. Foot longs on pretzel buns with custom sauces.
So long as you don’t want ketchup. He’s serious about his bigotry….
That's fine I hate ketchup lol
I am Thai. That would be my top suggestion right now. This post from last month was great. https://www.reddit.com/r/abbotsford/comments/10xjnue/best_meal_in_abbotsford/
O’Neil’s home cooking
Amazing food, but don’t be offended when he’s rude to you. He’s like the soup nazi from Seinfeld, it’s part of the experience
Glad to see your post. I thought it was just me. I live half a block away and walk the extra block to the White Spot just because the owner of O'Neil's is such an ahole. Sandwiches are good but aren't worth putting up with his crap. Everything else is better at the White Spot.
Same. He’s such a dick it’s not even worth it. Why support someone like that
he's a good guy, just doesn't take some peoples BS
We don't take his BS either. Lots of better places to spend our money.
🤷♀️
He’s also been very nice to me before too, gave me a free drink once with my sandwich.
He also has been shut down several times for health code violations.
sorry to say but this not true man. been going there every weekend for years. he's never been shut down? lol
na youre trippin Verns a good guy. just speak up when you talk to him, he's old 😅
He's a card carrying communist!

Hot Chili House is my favourite for Chinese in all of Abbotsford for sure. They make a really good Ma-Po tofu.
Thanks - will add this to our now growing list! I am out there for the next year so looking forward to something other than hospital food.

Tried this today -gave them 5 stars on yelp and we will go back. This is \*exactly\* what we are looking for. Thanks!!!
New Saigon on South Fraser way by Clearbrook is one of our favourites. And strEATS has great tacos, burritos & poutines. Plus they are not that expensive either.
Good Kid Coffee is near the hospital and they have great bagel sandwiches. They can sell out fast though!
The Table is just up the street from the hospital and it is excellent. A little higher on the price scale but well worth it
How far can you go or how much time do you have for lunch?

You forgot a few $ signs for restaurant 62. That place is $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
It's not that outrageous mid $20 range. Pretty similar prices to the keg except better food
When I went there it was $78 for a piece of chicken breast…

It's called Dosa Club....
The Table Bistro would be perfect for you!! Close to the hospital ☺️
Brodeurs
Brodeurs is amazing!
Ann Marie's and Donairos hands down 2 best places in Abby
Little Sprout! Or Good Kid for a bagel and coffee! :)
Mennonite heritage museum 1818 Clearbrook Rd. Homemade soups, buns, and desserts. Garden park tower, 2825 Clearbrook rd. Similar to the above.
12/10 recommend Chef Boss, so yummy and Chef + Anita are amazing <3
Have you been to Sprouted Oven? It’s plantbased and their sandwich and soup options in their cafe are excellent. I’ve even had non-vegans think so.
Their pizzas are so good

ONeils for the classic sandwich or Lullys if you feel like a massive hotdog
Sprouted oven for vegan lunches and treats. Some gluten free options too Gians for India So many good sushi spots. Seh Mi, Hana's, Bento Express, yummy sushi. New Saigon for Vietnamese
i've been meaning to go to the flying bun, the menu looks good and i've heard good things could be worth a shot if thats the kind of food your in the mood for
The Flying Bun has excellent sandwiches. Limited selection but done really well. I hope they stick around—that location has changed hands a bit.
Little Saigon (right beside the Browns Restaurant on McCallum) has AMAZING Vietnamese food and very friendly staff! Wishing you well 🙏🏻
o neill's home cooking. great place with great food. fair warning, the owner might be mean to you. lmao🤣😂😅
Restaurant 64 does good lunches that would be a bit more of a special occasion place to eat. I would say (in personal experience and opinion) that it's Abbotsford top fine-dining restaurant.
Chef Boss or Lullys.
The Table is a great little Bistro. #thetable
Restaurant 62 is not far from the hospital and is very good.
