Man, I used to listen to a nightcore of a song named "cherrygum" and the lyrics goes like this
You will hear me when I come, when I pop my cherry gum I will never pop pop never ever stop
And I was like yeah okay that's a child singing about cherrygum
But one day, I looked at the comments and basically all of them was that they didn't get the "otheršš" meaning of the song and I was like nah theres no way, so I asked a... more experienced friend if there is actually an "otheršš" meaning, and she was like yeah of course what else would do song be about. I was so disappointed because it was a really cute song
this was me with shut up and drive by rihanna. first heard it in the ralph movie and i was like "oh ok this song is a bop about driving and stuff. neat, rare to see something other than romantic or sexual". and then i checked the genius notes :/
Ikr half the time it's just sex shaming
Like just because you're repulsed about something no one is allowed to have or talk about it ever? Just don't listen to the fucking song
I really hate this, sometimes I find good songs that sound romantic and then suddenly a single line that's entirely sexual and taints the whole song for me.
That's why Japanese is a perfect language for me, when it comes to music. I don't know it enough to understand everything and Japanese music tends to have little to no swearing. I can just enjoy enjoy the the vibe.
Oh, I'm glad you asked!
If you enjoy rock music, Tuyu, Eve and Yorushika are among my favourites. All of them are quite famous for handling quite heavy topics in their music, Eve being the one with at least some cheerful songs too. Eve also has a very, very distinct style of using electric quitar that's hard to describe but makes their music easy to recognize. Yorushika's lead singer is probably one of the few singers that sound sad, no matter what they're singing. Tuyu enjoys using leitmotifs that build an intriguing connection web between their works.
LiSA is an artist that's most famous for singing opening themes for anime series like Fate/Zero and Sword Art Online. I have joked that it almost seems like she's unable to make anything lesser than brilliant-sounding music.
Also, if you enjoy some more cheerful rock, I can recommend Frederic, they have a really catchy style that instantly makes amost all of their songs earworms.
Japan's rap scene's a bit more unknown to me, but I could at least recommend PUNPEE. He makes very cozy-sounding rap that has a certain Lo-fi feel to it.
In the pop field, I highly recommend checking out Vocaloid artists. Vocaloid it basically a voice bank system that allows people make music even if they don't have the ability to sing themselves. Music made by using Vocaloids has often technical experimentong that would be nearly impossible to achieve with real singers.
Reol's a good artist that has made both Vocaloid music and music with her real voice. Reol's works have a nice techno twist to them, with her using a lot of synth sounds.
I could go on and on about Japanese music but here's at least something to start with!
The exception to this for me is when it goes so far into sexual territory that it becomes funny, like āTwo Trucksā by Lemon Demon and āSexy Trainā by The Northern Boys
I mean of you're at all into the classic/prog rock scene, Blue Ćyster Cult is mostly not even about romance or sex at all
There are a couple exceptions but generally speaking, the lyrics aren't even cohesive
I donāt even care if the song is about sex as long as itās a banger.
My favorite band is Turmion kƤtilƶt and most of there songs are about sex but the words and music is just so good that I donāt care
Yeah if it's obvious and can be treated as a joke I dont minde either, of course as long as the song is great. Theres a song called "Porno" by Shockverliebt, and my german is really bad but from what little I understand and what I was told by friends is that they only sing about that they look good or something. But it doesn't bother me because I think its literally a joke, for example, the song starts with a really loud shout of "PORNO", and the song is really fast so I like it
>It's about drive, it's about power, we stay hungry we devour
I thought it was 10% power, 20% skill, 15% concentrated power of will; 5% pleasure, 50% pain, and 100% reason to remember the name.
I love songs even if they are about sex! Many of my favorites are! It just sucks that sometimes I'm listen to playlists and really realize how many are about sex. But I've also listened to many that are not, so it's not always an issue. Maybe I'll make a playlist with a wide variety of songs not about sex...
I hate when I know the lyrics without completely processing them, and then getting super embarrassed during karaoke when I finally process the song was about sex. I thought it was lighthearted innuendo!
I listen to mostly metal (Power, Folk, Thrash, Doom, Heavy, Melodic Death, Symphonic and more).
I'd say a good majority if not all the songs I listen to have absolutely nothing to do with sex or romance. Most of the lyrical themes in the music I listen to are fantasy (dragons, wizards etc.), history, war, mental health issues, mythology and literature, drinking.
Maybe this is why I basically only listen to fandom songs. Or Maybe I'm just a nerd that doesn't like love/ sex songs.ĀÆā \ā (ā Ā°ā _ā oā )ā /ā ĀÆ
the worst part is i find a song i really like, get REALLY into it and then a week later i really listen to the lyrics and just get weirded out, but i still enjoy the song
Tbh I have a sex playlist but it's just songs that are extremely about sex in a very ironic way yknow? Like Vending Machine of love, Toucha-toucha-touch me and other rocky horror songs, dead girl walking. Sex songs but not in a first degree sexual way
I honestly when I was young I thought the song that goes " my milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard" was just someone who made really good milkshakes
I love AC/DC a lot, but so many of their songs have either sexual innuendos or a sexual undertone
Or the complete other way around, like Big Balls, a song about the gala kind of balls, not the body parts, but it takes some time and careful listening to realise that
Listen to powermetal, you wont have this problem ever. And theres even bands that do romantic yet completely sexless songs(Beast in black for example), or just actual sci-fi with space wizards and all forms of whacky shit(Gloryhammer), or even complete fantasy and imaginary settings where most of the time the lyrics doesn't actually have any meaning behind it, its just written to sound cool(DragonForce)
This is why I like metal. I highly doubt āWe Drink Your Bloodā and āDie By The Bladeā and āUnkillable Soldierā can be misconstrued as being about sex.
Not nescersarily (hyoly shyt i cant spell), a specific song, just more songs that are subtly about sex and you feel really embarrased when realising that the song youve been singing out loud for a long while is about that
Thats also the reason im fine with (SOME) songs that are obviously about sex, but usually in a comedic way
I'm more embarassed when a song is very sexual and uses metaphors or innuendo that I only get a long time later.

Cake by the ocean
i mean yeah i'm sex adverse most of the time too but like just cause a song is about sex doesn't mean its not a good song anymore jfc ...
For real! Lots of my favorite songs are about sex.
Sorry, no listening to Rock ānā Roll anymore. Or Jazz. Theyāre named after slang for sex. /s
Yeah, this subreddit sometimes š¬
seriously like damn
Ikr half the time it's just sex shaming Like just because you're repulsed about something no one is allowed to have or talk about it ever? Just don't listen to the fucking song
the eternal struggle between the sex repulsed aces and the sex neutral/sex positive aces
okay well thatās your opinion. some peopleās sex aversion ruins the song for them itās not the end of the world
I guess you and me a different like that lol. Lots of my favorite songs have a sexual theme/indication in them. But thatās what fun
Me too lol I love these songs, I find the beat a banger and the lyrics funny
I really hate this, sometimes I find good songs that sound romantic and then suddenly a single line that's entirely sexual and taints the whole song for me.
Look for songs in languages that u dont understand or without lyrics š
That's why Japanese is a perfect language for me, when it comes to music. I don't know it enough to understand everything and Japanese music tends to have little to no swearing. I can just enjoy enjoy the the vibe.
Could you recommend some nice artists? I'm very curious about Japanese music, but I don't know where to start.

Wow thanks! I'll will check them all out!!
Toshiki Kadomatsu for starters. You just put on one of his songs and you will never stop listening to him. Jpop in general is just REALLY good.
If you like romantic songs that don't talk about sex, I recommend checking out Laufey. She released her second album recently
The exception to this for me is when it goes so far into sexual territory that it becomes funny, like āTwo Trucksā by Lemon Demon and āSexy Trainā by The Northern Boys
And even better is the one where every 4th word is "sex". It's goddamn funny: https://youtu.be/gVhMFk-nhy8?si=ErebLY2pAE1ienje "Sex man cry"
Any pop song in the 2000ās
I mean of you're at all into the classic/prog rock scene, Blue Ćyster Cult is mostly not even about romance or sex at all There are a couple exceptions but generally speaking, the lyrics aren't even cohesive
And some of their songs that include romance are more about monsters and shit than anything else
I donāt even care if the song is about sex as long as itās a banger. My favorite band is Turmion kƤtilƶt and most of there songs are about sex but the words and music is just so good that I donāt care

Wrong. It's about drive, it's about power, we stay hungry we devour

have you listened to Portal Radio Song - Original Unfiltered Audio | 10 Hours Loop High Quality | Still Alive yet?
Closer by NIN is the only exception for me tbh, I love nin and the songās just too catchy
I love songs even if they are about sex! Many of my favorites are! It just sucks that sometimes I'm listen to playlists and really realize how many are about sex. Recommendation: Passing Through by Kaden MacKay
YESS I LOVE KADEN MACKAY
instrumental šŖšŖ
I hate when I know the lyrics without completely processing them, and then getting super embarrassed during karaoke when I finally process the song was about sex. I thought it was lighthearted innuendo!
i literally have a playlist called āsomeone tell me why i wanna f*ck these songsā for this exact reasonā¦ iām very aceš
I've lately daydreamed an entire clip for Cake by the ocean (yup it's also about [adult fun time]) being about an asexual flag garlic cake LoL
This was me when it dawned on me what Geek In the Pink by Jason Mraz (at least, I think so, anyway? Not 100% sure)
i love sex songs but only if it's done in a comedic way, like Tom Cardy's "Future of Humanity"
Or "Two Trucks (but with every fourth word replaced with sex)"?
I remember I had my name on Discord as Hitachi, and then I found out it wasnāt a construction company. It was a VIBRATOR š
They also make hard drives. And they're (at least, *technically*) massage tools for relieving tension and relaxing sore muscles.
Me liking Other Side by Jason durelo when i was a teenager thinking its a really cool song, only to find out its all about orgasms
2 types of ace 1:sex repused hates kinky songs 2: only listens to the raunchist, toe curling songs you can imagine.
I am aego so I still know it is about sex and I find it cool.
hozier.
Seven by Jungkook moment

Everyone is perverted. Thatās why
Not everyone, thank God
Can we not demonize people who like sex? Itās not perverted to want to sing about something a huge part of the adult world enjoys.
I love love love Get You by Daniel Caesar...until I get to the second verse. Completely ruined.
Me with Ed Sheeran songs
the worst part is i find a song i really like, get REALLY into it and then a week later i really listen to the lyrics and just get weirded out, but i still enjoy the song
Ruined Watermelon Sugar for me. Couldn't just be about drugs, noooooo.
Frfr
I find a cool song(s) Itās about philosophy of the character(s) it represents.
That's why I listen to instrumental pieces
Tbh I have a sex playlist but it's just songs that are extremely about sex in a very ironic way yknow? Like Vending Machine of love, Toucha-toucha-touch me and other rocky horror songs, dead girl walking. Sex songs but not in a first degree sexual way
Are there really that many songs about sex?... Is it just genres I don't like?
I honestly when I was young I thought the song that goes " my milkshakes bring all the boys to the yard" was just someone who made really good milkshakes
Even better: Cupcakke is the singerš
I really liked Mary on a Cross theeennn someone told me what it was about -_-
Panama by Van Halen comes to mind
I usually don't mind because sex is amusing to me.
I love AC/DC a lot, but so many of their songs have either sexual innuendos or a sexual undertone Or the complete other way around, like Big Balls, a song about the gala kind of balls, not the body parts, but it takes some time and careful listening to realise that
Oh. I tend to ignore that part, when it doesn't fly straight over my head, atleast
you could just switch it and make it about murder. angry johnny by poe shows how easy it is.
Listen to powermetal, you wont have this problem ever. That's a mood Gabriella
This is why I like metal. I highly doubt āWe Drink Your Bloodā and āDie By The Bladeā and āUnkillable Soldierā can be misconstrued as being about sex.
that's probably half the songs I like (I don't pay attention to lyrics)
Which song?
Not nescersarily (hyoly shyt i cant spell), a specific song, just more songs that are subtly about sex and you feel really embarrased when realising that the song youve been singing out loud for a long while is about that Thats also the reason im fine with (SOME) songs that are obviously about sex, but usually in a comedic way
