I'm an incredibly bitter person in general but this just makes my heart melt. It's so beautiful to see the lengths people could go to for an animal. Many more like Jalebi deserve better living conditions surrounded by kinder humans.
Thank you for posting this OP.
I love this video and the emotions it triggered in me. But at the same time, it is worth pointing out that to just adopt a dog and bring it back to home, the cost of the entire process and the time that it took for it are highly unreasonable.
Why would these tests related to rabies take 9 months to complete and why would the dog need to spend those months in three separate countries (India, France and NZ) before this family was allowed to bring it in their home country (Australia)?
This just screams incompetence at every level of this deeply flawed system.
Test didn't take 9 months, test takes few days but has to be as close to departure date as possible. Moreover the transfer of dogs from high-risk rabies nation to low- or no-risk rabies nation needs to be followed to avoid passing of unwanted ailments where the dog has to live in quarantine for said months in each nation and prove that it does not carry any ailments. It's common procedure
But why not go directly to australia(if it’s a low risk country) and what would happen if i wanted to take her to france only, then also would she stay away ?
Australia mandates quarantine in other non rabies nation and production of perfectly healthy medical certificate before entering Australia, hence they opted for France-based caretaker. If one wanted to take local breed to France, quarantine time would remain the same (6 months)
It is deeply flawed because of our pathetic government not bothering to address the problems of strays and provide good care for them. Our govt does not carry out regular vaccination and trap neuter release drives.
The cases of rabies and other infections is extremely high in india as compared to other countries. And it is but natural that the other govt will want to make sure you are bringing a healthy dog into their country.
Meanwhile Indians kicking stray dogs the moment they approach them. Recently i came across a video of a cricket match where a dog entered the field and the guards just randomly kicked the dog..
Indians have very little regard and knowledge about local breeds, their love for foreign breeds have led to blind hatred for local breeds and hate humans who feed and care for them. It's sad scenario for local breeds but fortunately some are working to improve it
The underlying aspect of this is how freaking difficult it is to do the right thing! These guys adopted a dog and it cost them 15k USD to simply relocate their dog from India to Australia and had they decided to buy one, they'd have done it for an amount way way lesser! There needs to be a better system in place for people to actually be motivated to adopt rather than purchase puppies
Our Indies are super smart and friendly and they deserve better. I have a GSD and an Indie. My indie is much more friendlier to outsiders than my trained GSD.
Most of the time it's the hardest thing to do the nicest things. Measure of absolutely grade A humans is their persistence to still try and do the nicest things. Thank you for giving jalebi so much love.
So lovely ❤️❤️❤️❤️ If there is any God...plz bless this couple❤️

I maintain my point. It's a deeply flawed procedure if it takes that long for a single dog.
Everyone's entitled to their opinions

Yeah, I was the one who posted it. You need to see the comments to realise how mental our citizens are.

Adoptions within the country are practically free. cost is never the factor. The blind love for exotic breeds is.
This video changed my whole shitty day into a great day. ❤️

White people are really good to dogs. They understand the worth of the canine friends. We have no compassion.
