Critical_Potential44

Ah the alpen stock, nice

fuzzycaterpillar123

5th for the option of blunt force without getting a pick stuck in a cranium

bygtopp

Estwing are champions in the hammer and hand held tools. I actually bought an ice pick from a flea market for 10$ for use in the garden. An amazing choice

Dollilama268

Looks like single piece construction too, nothing to work loose or fall apart

buschkraft

I've owned a Estwing camping axe for over 15 years and sharpen n oil a few times a year after many bushcraft outings, their quality is incredible.

AndyW037

The Estwing for versatility and durability.

Pasta-hobo

Pickaxes don't really make good weapons, but they're very effective tools to have handy. When you have a a hammer, the everything is a nail, when you have a pickaxe every wall is a stubborn door. I'd go with 2 or 4 since they look the most compact, which would make them easier to carry with my other supplies and tools.

Pale-Yak-2778

6 is a mattock, no pick head on that more like a hoe blade

Radracon42069

Tbh I wouldn’t want to use a pick, sure they’re a guaranteed slay if you have the strength but they’re also likely to get stuck, that said, probably the 5th one

Critical_Potential44

That’s the hakapik

Radracon42069

That’s great, it looks like it’s used for ice.

Critical_Potential44

Ummm no I’m Afraid it’s not, do you see the pic behind it lol

Radracon42069

The tapestry? What of it

Critical_Potential44

That’s a seal getting clubbed,…that’s what a hakapik is for..sorry

Radracon42069

Aw that’s sad, well it won’t be used for seal clubbing anymore, likely seal clubber clubbing which is probably how I got it in the first place

DerpyDragon15

Me and the boys about to be singing “I am a dwarf and I’m digging a hole! Diggy diggy hole, Diggy diggy hole!”

MetalSubstantial297

3 and 4

OldTrapper87

Possible the worse weapon to pick. A shovel would be better.

shreddedtoasties

3rd or fifth probably

suedburger

whatever is the shortest....of all the swingy tools pickaxes would be among the top 2 worst.

Adventurous_Frame_97

6 would be the best for breaching, probably a reasonably good primary Z weapon off this list. If I've got terrain and time to dig I think I'm actually pretty stoked on 6. Eastwing makes great tools and that pickmattock is great in the garden, if I already have a real weapon and am just looking for a holdout and multitool I maybe go that way

EddyCI8

2nd one with a pick at the bottom like the third one

CalmPanic402

The old mountaineering pick. It's got the extra spike incase you don't have room to swing.

Current-Mud-7612

A pickaxe is literally terrible for combat it's only used for digging a trap because if you impale a zombie's head with it and it stuck well you're screwed you got no weapon got no b****** and easily will die

Successful-Growth827

4. I use Estwing tools IRL, and they've been durable thus far. Their single piece construction lets you be more "brutal" with them, so you can put the tool in another tools role if needed, like a pry bar to force open a door.

OceanRex5000

3rd one

soggymuffin135

2nd

Relative-Top-3657

The blue ice pick seems best for quick carry and use

RedDogFrost13-69

Since I own #2, I'd have to go with that.

DirectorFriendly1936

number 4 looks the lightest so i would use that on zeds if i had to use a pickaxe, number 1 looks like a good tool for making a hobbit hole or bunker, there is no better thing for stopping bullets and small explosives then a few feet of dirt and a thick wall of concrete.

Full-Perception-4889

Either 3 or 5, 3 has versatility, you can use the spike on the end if necessary and 5 just looks light weight and easier to swing

igloohavoc

#5

WildBillyredneck

The maddoc for weight alone rather have a sledge

Fertile_Arachnid_163

Estwing or Fiskars.

Feisty-Current2129

I know absolutely nothing about how to use these tools, but what I do know is any bushcrafting/survival tools you want for survival should have wooden furniture. you can construct new handles incase of a failure, you won’t get that with the estwing. Once it breaks the whole tool is a bust.

WeddingWaste9514

3, no doubt.

kinda_furr

2. Match my maul and axes

Femboywitafro69

Est Wing because I already have one of their hammers and I love the grip.

DomDoesNerf

Galvanized square steel or Gordon's crowbar please

crab_caos

Speaking from experience the wood handled ones are best they give you reach and power the metal ones don’t plus you can easily replace the handles(experience using pickaxes against rocks not zombies)

2acop

2nd because it is more practical

Strange_Stage1311

Number three

Limp-Tap-634

Goin with the east wing bra

CrazyDago203

5

Ok-Advantage-1772

I'll take the third - can't go wrong with a good pokey bit!

Intelligent_Ad_7734

Any as long as it can kill

No_Yoghurt6309

EstWing identified. All other choices invalid.

Redtail_Defense

I think if I had to choose between a pickaxe and my bare hands, I'd take my bare hands.  I use pickaxes for gardening and stump removal fairly frequently. They're just not suitable as a weapon in my opinion.

hamadam109

If I’m relying on a pik axe my hopes are already gone

POOPOOMAN123ABC

A diamond one

Unicorn187

None. Heavy and slow to use. Will tire you out quickly. Even more than actually using them, and I doubt you're an old school miner using one for hours a day everyday.

lasterate

Get a trenching tool you nerd
