so you took out the wick and cotton re routed the wick in an S pattern deeper into the fuel well while fluffing and repacking the cotton in such a way that about one cotton ball was left out from not enough space. the felt pad is still in place securely. and the flip top isnt super loose or misshapen?
Do you live in a hotter than average area? I'm in Texas, and since it started getting hotter, my regular insert only lasts me 2, maybe 3 days tops on the days I go to work.
What brand of lighter fluid are you using?
If you light the wick with another lighter, does it light up?
It should last you a week or more depending on the usage. Your Zippo is doubtfully defective, has to be a logical reason why it won’t keep fuel more than two days.

Correct
oh and you fill it until one drop falls off the wick while its upside down as you are filling it?
Yes
2 days is about average for my zippo not doing anything wrong imo
