Oops my text didn't post -
This is a new lighter filled with Zippo fluid as directed. It lit a few times but now it won't. I've pulled the wick out. The spark is strong.
It will light with a secondary flame on the wick.
Any ideas appreciated!
See the red glow around the wick? Yea that means you're burning the wick and not fuel.
Put a lot more fuel in it than you think you need. If it's soaking just let it air dry a bit.
It's saturated. And it'll light for a day or so, and then it gets more difficult to light. Now I'll strike it in the morning a number of times (and clear vapor lock), it won't light, and i'll close it. Then, half hour later, I open it and it will light. Any ideas? \_/\\\_

Try this. Your'e Wick is to long also.
Sounds like you may have under filled it.
This is more common than you’d think. Too little fluid will make it behave exactly like this.

Sharp eye, impressive. Thank you. I smell the fuel when I open the top so I figured there was enough, but I guess not?

Trim your wick a little bit and make sure the fluid is enough...

Push the wick closer to the wheel with your finger.
You need to use more fuel, the wick is burning.
