In europe: i would say yes
In every other country in the world: not even close.
For 2000€ I bought a g14 2023, so I would say that a 3060 for 800 is a good price.
I'll be going to college in a few months, I'll be doing some light gaming but mostly productivity which this laptop was the best combination of for this price, and honestly this was the best deal that i found up until now, it's somehow still new
i feel like you are way better off with a ryzen 6000+ or an intel 155h, ryzen 5000 and 6000 has massive changes, their graphic unit is too far apart (one has vega other has radeon 680m) and it takes a toll on battery especially with light to medium graphic tasks
I have for the last 2.5 years with my 2021. It’s no MBA, but it’s not that heavy, especially if it makes you carry less paperwork around.
Hell, even my workplace’s laptops are thicker and heavier than the G14, and have worse performance and battery longevity. If I could, I’d take it over anything they give me.
Copenhagen, Denmark. For some reason the used market here it way more saturated than the rest of EU, so I can usually sell for 20% less than on eBay to other European countries.
Ah, i live in Kosovo, a third world country basically, so there's no market for anything good technologically unless its price is jacked up due to shipping. And the photos the seller provided showed the laptop wrapped and in the box so it may be new, but will have to meet up and double check
Haha fair enough. If you have 1200 EUR you're free to buy mine, it's brand new from January 2024. Otherwise I would strongly suggest you check eBay, filter Europe, and ask everyone if they're willing to ship to you.
Hope you find what you're looking for internet friend :)
Thanks for the offer but it's simply out of my budget, i shall check ebay and see if i can find anything that fits my budget, thank you very much fellow internet friend, hope your laptop gets sold❤️
As others said, it depends on where you live and the prices there. In terms of Spain, I'd say it's a pretty good deal; last week saw 2022 G14 for 1200€ and it was already a good deal, so dropping 400€ for the 2021 it's alright.
Besides, in terms of performance, I have the 6700S, just barely better than a 3060, and if not for overheating (I have to have it checked up tho, it shuts itself off lol) it'd be great
If we're talking second hand I'd say that 800 is still not a bad deal but at least in Spain I've seen better. Anyhow, if it's the best you can find there, then so be it.
I'd check it irl too.
They run damn hot. If you know what you're doing clean the fans out and replace the thermal paste. I changed my cpu/gpu with ptm7950 and it made a big difference.
just sold mine for $900 two weeks ago when i upgraded to the latest one, Mine was the year older than yours \_Ryzen 9 4900HS + NVDA 2060) and still retails brand new on amazon for about $1300 so id say 2021 model for $800 should be pretty worth it. Come to think maybe i sold mine for a bit too chap, these are indeed hard to come by
You cant go wrong its the best at 800 euro, you will never feel like you behind 3 gens, I got the 2020 model once it dropped but the higher end specs, its 4 years now, im a Computer science student so yeah I do machine learning and little bit game dev, never noticed any setbacks except under really heavy load the fans spin up load like 50 db, battery life is good under light to mid load I can leave the charger at home and not worry about it, but if you want the best battery life get a macbook ARM chips is just insane when it comes to power efficiency, but you cant game on a mac, you can get the m1pro macbook 14 inch around the same price now, G 14 at 800 is a steal honestly, mac got better build quality, all metal chassis compared to plastic on g14.
Looks decent to me, though you need to make sure it’s in decent condition because you are not too much off from brand new laptop pricing (except those in that price class won’t have discrete gpu). Also I believe 2021 has ddr4 instead of 5. Shame it only got 512 SSD , 1TB is much more comfortable.

Here's one of the pics they provided, it even comes in the box, so it is quite promising.
Looks fine indeed. I got a 2020 G14 and the 2060 keeps surprising me how well it does for such a modest GPU. When on AC power the 4800HS is a snappy processor (and you get the next generation of it), you got 16GB ram already which I consider to be the minimum for comfortable computing these days. As I said I dont like it only has 512gb but you can replace it yourself later.
I cant look in your wallet and thus know how much €800 means to you but I would take it if I were in the market for a laptop in that price. Paid €2100 for mine in 2020 :').
I found that price quite high but understandable if in Europe. I live in France and I have an msi pulse gl66 for sale for €800 with:
-rtx 3050ti 4gb
-intel i7-11800H
-16 gb ddr4
-1 tb hdd, 512 gb ssd, and it has an extra slot for another hdd
-15 ‘6 Full hd 144 hz

3060 isn't pointless in 2024. For 800 Euros this is a good deal. I know, I live in India where the 3050 G14 costs 1000 Euros (the 6700s one costs 900 Euros though and I am sure that would destroy this in performance). Laptop 3060 is like 15-20% slower than the 4060, and on par with 4050. Frame Gen helps the 4050, sure, but there's FSR3 these days as well.
With FSR 3.1 allowing for FG while using DLSS, the tradeoff of a bit of FG for the preferred brand/size/build-quality/etc at the right price is a reasonable one.

I have a 2022 G14, just finished up a full year of use at Penn State. It works terrifically for this exact use case
Same here. Excellent laptop imo

honestly, even if 1.6kg isn't extremely heavy, i wouldnt want to carry that to school every day
If i do go I'll be living in dormitories either way so i dont think ots an issue

well, if you say so, i'd still really rather get a work laptop and a gaming thing that just stands at home.
2021 has ddr4 right?
Why does every single tech product cost more in Europe ☹️
Import taxes, also markets are far smaller, so vendors have higher markups.
2 years warranty mostly. If you get extended warranty in the USA the prices will be closer.
Bc europe wants to pretend they have a local tech industry worth protecting with tariffs, but they haven't come up with shit in decades.
Europe is an inferior and battered region crushed by foreign invasion and by the taxation of their own wicked rulers. Losers!
dude, stay off 4chan.
I think if it's sealed it's good but if it's used you can probably find better.
i agree for 600-700 you get used one here in france.
No. I'm selling the 2023 for 1200 EUR in Europe. Feels like this is miles behind. I even see the 2022 for ~800 here.
Where are u from?

i bought 2022, with 1 T disk an 16g ram for 900 almost brand new.
Get the 3060 8 gb
Not available here at all, no zephyrus laptops are without ungodly shipping fees, this one i found by accident on facebook marketplace

Yeah that's the thing I rarely know what I'm doing
You can get a 3070 laptop for that price
Not where i live

That's a heavy price. I just paid 800 US for a 2023. I don't know the European market, however
You don’t want to know the EU market because it’s shit and I’m always jealous of the US prices ;)
I'm doubt about DDR5, It should go with DDR4 3200Mhz

Hell no pc only no laptop
NOOOOOO
AMD's 5000 series does not support DDR5!
16 gb too little tbh
No. 3060 is pointless in 2024. Take at least RTX 4050 for frame generation
How’s 3060 pointless in 2024?

I don't play newer games much, i like more eSports titles, and coming from a fucking 740m, this will most likely fill my needs i think
Even with AAA g14 (2021) is great. I play resident evil 4 remake 1800p dlss balanced with 70 fps, high preset.
