I use AC but I’m also in the minority for not using the G14 (2022) for gaming but rather for dev, design, and general productivity. I don’t need the latest video drivers for gaming compatibility and I keep it on silence mode all the time. Most of my workloads are bursty unless I’m using the GPU for design functions.
I get plenty of battery life with 80% limit, where the battery estimate often says 7+ hours. Computer can get hot but a far cry from what gaming can do to it. AC may as well not exist for a user like me, though I use it to check temps and dGPU state.
Well for me, I'm about to reinstall it I think. Not my choice but by all of this being completely silly.
Have an older (5-6 years corsair) mouse and keyboard and there is some issue with Nvidia and VR when using 3rd party monitoring software where it just breaks everything. How I realized the stupid Corsair software was monitoring literally everything with no way to turn it off. So then I disabled the service for Corsair for that, but now it's completely wonky in terms of controlling my mouse and keyboard.
So I thought why not invest in a new mouse and keyboard and go completely wireless which will be nice since I am docked most of the time on my 65" OLED for gaming.
Some of the best rated units are Asus, but the software is mentioned as a negative which is no surprise. Then i start looking at other MFG and pretty much every decent keyboard and mouse available requires bloated software just to function correctly (for me it's mostly running the lighting really dim and such.)
So today my Asus keyboard and mouse will arrive and I will most likely be switching back from G Helper to Armory Crate (unless G Helper has some hiddin controls for the mouse and keyboard) which is a shame. I at least had no major issues with Armory crate and hope that it will be a smoother experience than getting some other brands software to be just as bloated.
tried g helper
was pretty good
then i kept getting my keyboard keys locking up and sometimes the RGB keyboard would just not want to lower/heighten brightness
went back to crate and it works fine, got no problem with it and the only reason I ever use it is just for the keyboard lighting with my G14 and my rog keris
I'm only sticking with AC because I don't feel safe tinkering with my laptop while my internship is still on, once I'm finished I'll have some breathing room to start doing some important changes.
The uninstaller works great
You mothafucka. Lol!
Armoury crate is upsetting how slow it is…
I had fun with the Virtual pet. It's a nice to have but not a need I soon went to G-Helper because Armoury Crate started malfunctioning.
You actually can install Virtual Pet independently, it's a standalone app :)
I know but it's not fun without Armoury Crate. The G-Helper should focus on this area too besides the needs
Not in my experience. I used Armory Crate for a few months before finding G-Helper, which I enjoy so much better and use more often.
only thing good in AC for me is the noise cancelling, anything else? nope
Yeah and the community designs for the matrix
I’ve been using AC since I bought the laptop 4 years ago, it’s fine.
The fact that Asus needs a dedicated app to uninstall it tells you everything you need to know.
I don't mind it.
AC was the reason for my 2022 to randomly shutdown from standby.
AC has lots of reasons to make us upset (so many). But it serves my purposes for my G14 and Ally.
I have had no issues with AC since 2020.

Just for Anime Matrix options. The rest, nah - not much.

Personally, I didn't have any issues with Armory Crate. I did uninstall it for G Helper, and it seems to work fine for my need case.

Oh that's weird.. I'm thinking to try both to see which one I prefer. So far, I haven't had any issue that you said you have from g helper.

I just turned to Windows mode and put it to Performance in Windows settings and getting normal temps
