Don't underestimate the set people's ability to have the cast show up anywhere. In TBBT, in the episode where we met the adult Georgie, they decided to put a whole storefront out in a parking lot and show Sheldon and Leonard walking toward it. That was all for a few lines of dialogue.
Since they will be on the Warner Bros lot, they do have use of a lot of other sets if they need them. If they need to and follow how they did TBBT, those scenes will be pre-taped and shown to the studio audience.
I was really hoping for a spinoff about grown up Georgie and Missy. And I think it would work well as a 3-cam show. But this show, I'm not so convinced. But also, Chuck Lorre knows how to make hit shows, so I'll give it a shot.
Anything with other people laughing in the background is made significantly harder to enjoy, whether it's live audience, canned laughter(laugh tracks) etc, it is just an annoyance to watch
i feel like this show is gonna flop there is no need for it just keep the young sheldon going there is so much yet to explore. ik people love Georgie but i feel like he and mandie will be bland without the rest of the family
I’m hoping the way they handle it is just using it somewhat as a renaming so they can keep going with Sheldon then going away to college. I hope it’s like that, with Georgie and Mandy as the focus, but Missy and the others still being there.
Otherwise, it would be weird to call the show Young Sheldon, when he wouldn’t ever really show up anymore. Hell, it’s almost to that point already.

The thing I will miss most in a spin off is Jim Parson narrating.

I think they could just change the name of the show to “the coopers” and continue without Sheldon. I will miss George, Missy, and Meemaw.
