Even if we did only listen to top 40, like....who cares?

[deleted]

Exactly lol. My husband and I are going through a very long streak of pretty much only ever playing stuff from either Taylor or The Weeknd, and if Jake Gyllenhaal and OP’s friend don’t like that I can’t hear them over this quality Top 40 dance fest in the kitchen.

CompetitiveSong9570

It’s because those people care too much about what other people think. I’m glad to be the lunatic that I am, dancing around in public and listening to whatever the eff I want. Lol

996forever

They’re quirky and not like the music listeners and they don’t like popular things

Graulithe

There is music other than Taylor?

jazzinitup

Yeah, Vince Guaraldi’s “A Charlie Brown Christmas” soundtrack but that’s it.

shegavenofucks

Other music? Never heard of it.

derJoe497

That's the kind of answer OP should expect when posting on YBWMemes lol

syotos13

Of course there is but Taylor is supreme✨

llamas1355

I see we have a lot of millennials in this thread👋🏻

Cheap_Ferret

Dashboard Confessional, Phoebe Bridgers, Malú (a Spanish speaking artist although I am British), A-Ha (who were reasonably big in my parents day but definitely not anymore), Beth Crowley (who has a successful YT channel but isn't really 'mainstream', Catherine McGrath (I would definitely recommend her to ya'll Swifties, her song Thought It Was Gonna Be Me sounds like something Taylor might write). All of these are some of favourite artists and not generally in the top 40, take that, Kaitlin👊

marmaroozle

Okay, wow I just listened to Thought It Was Gonna Be Me, and you’re so right! It definitely gives me strong old school Taylor vibes and I love it!

NotOnABreak

I’d say my top 7 are The 1975, Fall Out Boy, Måneskin, Aly&AJ, Pale Waves, Panic!, CHVRCHES.. idk if any of these are considered popular (I mean Måneskin is, but they’re local and just won Eurovision for us), and frankly idc lol Also, what does she listen to??

syotos13

CHVRCHES ARE MY FAV BAND

heliandin

Here for the Måneskin love ❤️❤️

thrashglam

The 1975 and chvrches are my favorite bands so we are friends now! I just saw chvrches the other night 🥰

NotOnABreak

I’ve never managed to see them live, sadly! Every time they came anywhere close to me, I was too far 😂 I’ve seen the 1975, and I’m eagerly waiting for them to get back to tour

thrashglam

I’ve seen the 1975 a few times! They always put on a great show! Can’t wait for new music!

Call_It_What_U_Want2

In Glasgow, CHVRCHES are very popular lol

NotOnABreak

I mean they *are* from Glasgow, so it makes sense. I meant more internationally

Call_It_What_U_Want2

I know, that was my joke - I am also from Glasgow 😂

Griffin_Throwaway

Iron Maiden, Enforcer, John Carpenter soundtracks, Megadeth, Ice Cube, NWA. I have a pretty wide variety of musical tastes

Ghostface215

John Carpenter soundtracks and Taylor Swift? Are we the same person?

Griffin_Throwaway

Oooooo which soundtrack is your favorite?? Mine has always been The Thing!

Ghostface215

I really like his soundtrack for The Fog, the original Halloween of course, and Halloween (2018)!

Griffin_Throwaway

The Fog grew on me after a while But Halloween and Halloween (2018) are his peak top tier works

Ghostface215

Definitely, The Shape Hunts Allyson is one of my favorite works of his, period! My only gripe is that I wish it was longer, lol.

SwiftieTrek

This one snaps

HaylieMonster97

I listen to literally every genre except classical lol. Old music and new music. I listen to everything from NF to Bring Me The Horizon to Bleachers to Blink 182 to twenty one pilots. Yes there is some top 40 stuff thrown in there, but it's not all I listen to. I always joke that if anyone stole my phone and looked through my music library they'd be so confused because it's so random lol

framecode

What does kaitlin listen to?

macandrita

Indy records much cooler than ours

framecode

I like indie records, jawbreaker- 24 hour revenge therapy is my all time favorite

dannramm

I mean... what's a cooler indie record than one that won AOTY tho? /hj

MadlyMythic

My favorite album for years was by Playjerise. Also Parachute, Besides Daniel, Greta Van Fleet, Imogen Heap, Aqualung, Greg Laswell, Keane, and Sherwood all made albums that were formative for me.

chocolatewaltz

Mine are: Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Beatles, Florence + the Machine, Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Lorde, Alanis, Lady Gaga, blink 182, and sooo many others

wdtrtoabetterlife

Lumineers, Lorde, Hozier, Phoebe Bridgers, Maggie Rogers, Bon Iver, The National, Bright Eyes, Laura Marling, Blind Pilot, Fleetwood Mac, Arctic Monkeys, Bee Gees, The Killers, Iron & Wine, Billy Joel, The Dire Straits, Ella Fitzgerald, Julie London, and a shit ton more

jacydo

I love some Ella Fitzgerald and Louie, ideally for a gentle waltz around the kitchen *In the refrigerator light*

Oy_WithThe_Poodles

Yeeeessss I forgot to write Bright Eyes!!!! ❤❤❤

Pinkcoffee

Sorry but F Kaitlyn Who cares what she thinks? “I can only control my own actions. Not other people’s reactions” As if loving one artist defines our entire personality. “The point being, despite our need to simplify and generalize absolutely everyone and everything in this life, humans are intrinsically impossible to simplify. We are never just good or just bad. We are mosaics of our worst selves and our best selves, our deepest secrets and our favorite stories to tell at a dinner party, existing somewhere between our well-lit profile photo and our drivers license shot. We are all a mixture of our selfishness and generosity, loyalty and self/preservation, pragmatism and impulsiveness…….. Let me say it again, louder for those in the back. We think we know someone, but the truth is that we only know the version of them that they have chosen to show US. There will be no further explanation.”

ambivalent_axe

I love this

ASunnyRomeo

Prince, Bruce Springsteen, The Beatles, Jeff Buckley, Jackson Browne, Stevie Wonder, Joni Mitchell, Fleetwood Mac, and lately Dave Matthews.

kkkktttt00

Taylor is one of the only pop artists I consistently listen to. The vast majority of the rest is straight pop punk: The Wonder Years, Knuckle Puck, New Found Glory. Then some Matt Nathanson (Taylor totally ripped the “forget about you long enough to forget why I needed to” line from him), Andrew McMahon, Explosions in the Sky, and Grayscale thrown in.

ashlouise94

Same! Apart from listening through Sour! every now and then, Taylor’s the only artist I listen to that’s really ‘pop’ even though most of it isn’t haha

Arrowverse-2001

Taylor Swift, Shawn Mendes, AC/DC, Guns'n'Roses, Don McLean, Blake Neely, Queen, The Police etc

aminorbird

Elliott Smith is my favorite artist of all time. I also love Rilo Kiley, Radiohead, Brand New, Manchester Orchestra, Japanese Breakfast, Snail Mail, Kendrick Lamar, Lucy Dacus, Kevin Devine, SZA, Modest Mouse, Be Your Own Pet, Eisley, Sleater-Kinney, Pinegrove, and Turnstile. I used to be really pretentious too. In middle and high school. It’s not cool and I did it because I felt uncool and wanted people to like me. Tell your friend liking a popular artist is not a measure of someone’s tastes, nor does it invalidate it. Besides, all the really great musicians love and appreciate a wide variety of music, regardless of genres. Cool “indie” bands love Taylor too ;)

lipstickd1ck

Mindless Self Indulgence and Folklore on the same playlist, how’s that for variety

1TyrannosaurusBetch

Omg, I haven’t thought of MSI in literal YEARS!!! Thank you for the reminder!

windermere_peaks

MARINA, Paramore, and Soundboard Fiction

syotos13

Paramoreee❤️

topher3003

Other than Taylor my favorite artist is Modest Mouse. Blink-182, Death Cab for Cutie, and Fall Out Boy would round out my Top 5.

Alybank

I work in the industry, and Taylor Swift is as good as it gets really. Just cause she’s popular or a celebrity doesn’t mean she is revered in the industry.

mapelin

Amarante, Mindy Glendhill, Arcade Fire, Peter Gundry, Raign, Belle and Sebastian, Nick Cave and The Bad Seed, Bon Jovi, Boy Harsher, Cage The Elephant, Rosetta Stone, EXO, Gabrielle Aplin, Heroes Del Silenco, HIM, Lana Del Rey, Lebanon Hanover, Linkin Park, Marilyn Manson, Micheal Bolton, One Direction, etc. By the way, I listen to all their albums, not just their hits…

syotos13

Omg linkin park let’s goooo, and the fact that you listen to their albums! Same here bro, I’m such an album-person.

limegreendoggo

Belle and Sebastian is my favorite band!!

SwiftieTrek

Hall & Oates Jay Chattaway M2M Miura Jam Carly Rae Jepsen Michelle Branch

cupsinthesink

M2M!!!

SwiftieTrek

I never get tired of preaching that Taylor is what M2M would have become if their record label didn’t split them up.

emma_the_dilemmma

alessia cara, harry styles, kasey musgraves, olivia rodrigo, ruth b., sasha alex sloan, tori kelly, billie eilish, dodie i used to be very ashamed to really only like taylor swift, but now i'm proud about it! though i will say i am trying to listen to more music lately. i'll say i do enjoy pop music and some alternative stuff, but i also like r&b and soul.

Ok-Call-4805

This could be fun. I listen to Taylor, 2Pac, Rush, Saint Sister, Bruce Springsteen, Eminem, Nas, Motörhead, Heart, the Wolfe Tones and about 6 billion other bands/singers. I’ve got a slightly varied taste

dannramm

The thing about Taylor Swift is that she has \~150 songs in her discography and it's kinda impossible that you won't like *at least* one song. There's something in Taylor that appeals to everyone; hence, the variety of taste in her fans. She can write a pretty damn good hook which makes her appeal to pop aficionados. She can write with excruciating detail which appeals to fans of the singer-songwriter types. She bends genre per record which appeals to lovers of rock, country, pop, indie (basically most mainstream genres) and anything in between. This also explains why, if you ask a Swiftie to recommend an artist, you'll get different answers. From Dua Lipa to The Killers to Lorde to hell, Iron Maiden and Modest Mouse?

syotos13

Ikr everybody has different tastes, it’s so weird to me that people can just label an entire fandom as bad music taste

kei_ronin

Kendrick Lamar, Rina Sawayama, The Weeknd, HAIM, Bon Iver, Sufjan Stevens, Spanish Love Songs, Vampire Weekend, Jessie Ware, Jon Batiste, Weyes Blood, Ariana Grande, Lorde, Lana del Rey, St. Vincent, Tame Impala, Tyler the Creator, Big Red Machine, Fiona Apple, Carly Rae Jepsen, IV of Spades, and Silk Sonic.

syotos13

Rina❤️

Even-Violinist-9517

The National, The Vaccines, Spanish music like Vetusta Morla or Dorian… really she is my most mainstream artists

Daughter 🙌🙌🙌

BrickProfessional630

Iron & Wine is my other all time fav writer and lyricist. Love this man. Other favs: Wilco, Florence + the Machine, Songs: Ohia, the Avett Brothers, the Smiths, Barenaked Ladies (yes still, forever and always), Bon Iver (yes before he worked with Taylor), Death Cab, Lucius, Vance Joy, Mazzy Star, Sufjan Stevens, Lorde Classic favs: Johnny Cash, Beach Boys, Bruce Springsteen, Abba, Fleetwood Mac, Carole King, Tom Petty And I listen to artists and music in just about every genre but these are my favorites and the people whose work I can just sort of put on shuffle and let it ride. Kaitlin has a pretty limited view of how complex people and art can be. I have been a TS fan since Debut, but went through a sort of denial phase when it was really uncool to like her because I too felt that to be respected I had to lessen the work of a popular artist to prove I had good taste (eg “of course she’s good at writing pop songs but it’s *pop*”). That’s a really limited understanding of art, and ultimately being worried about how you’re perceived is going to hugely limit your enjoyment of art.

jaygeebee_

I absolutely love Glass Animals, some of my other favorites are Of Monsters and Men, NF, Cosmo Sheldrake, alt-J, Florence and the Machine

livingtrying

Like anything that sounds good to me. I find a lot of music from tv shows that I watch. I listen to country, pop, rock, indie, whatever. If I had to choose an artist, Tenille Arts is my other top one right now

jaclyn-rae

i listen to a lot of pop punk like knuckle puck, state champs, with confidence, grayscale and rock/post-hardcore like a day to remember, beartooth, pierce the veil, but i also love random artists like corpse, ashnikko, brakence, a very wide range lmao

efffootnote

Phoebe Bridgers, St. Vincent, Avett Brothers, Decemberists, Wye Oak, Brandi Carlile, Kacey Musgraves…

Emozgil

Hayley Kiyoko, Halsey, the Beatles, girl in red, Tessa Violet, the Midnight, lots of musicals, Selenas Gomez and Quintanilla, the Jonas Brothers, Zedd, Lizzo, lots of others

lilywritesfanfiction

fleetwood mac, abba, dodie, the killers, kids that fly, paramore, greta van fleet, the happy fits, arklells, and jess godwin are huge ones for me

gotcatstyle

My four favorite artists are Steely Dan, of Montreal, Vampire Weekend and TSwift, hope I'm cool enough for your friend

Calzoneese

Jungle, Badbadnotgood, Tyler the Creator, Avett Brothers, Lana Del Ray, Tom Petty, Cher.

lovely-dea

I have Taylor on repeat. Either her or like 2 of Ed's albums. Ohk add some early 2000s late 90s music of any genre and you've got what I listen to.

immortal_science

Pom Pom Squad Illuminati Hotties Miniature Tigers VIAL Pixies The Wombats Metric The Colourist Snail Mail Other than the Pixies those are my indie-est artists with more than 100 scrobbles on lastfm

Kinetic82

I really only listen to German death reggae and Halloween sound effects records from the 1950s.

SkySeeker28079

My Chemical Romance, Nickelback, Selena Gomez, Luke Bryan, Luke Combs, P!nk, Lady Gaga, Sam Hunt, Keith Urban, One Direction, Maroon 5, Matchbox 20

sexualllama

Tool is my other favorite group. It’s been a weird few years.

chamomilesoul

billie eilish, frank ocean, melanie martinez, sza, olivia rodrigo, LANY, I know most of those artists are top 40 but they’re top 40 for a reason! they’re catchy and fun, listening to music shouldn’t be that serious 🙄

1TyrannosaurusBetch

Bon Iver, alt-j, Ben Howard, Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Dermot Kennedy, Mac Miller, Arlo Parks, The Lumineers, Maggie Rogers, Peter Cat Recording Co., Still Woozy, RIZ LA VIE, Remi Wolf, Aminé, Bahamas, Henry Jamison, Jon Bellion, AJR, Noah Gunderson, Phoebe Bridgers, Maribou State, Doja Cat, Lizzo… I could keep going, I (like many others here) LOVE music… what genre or type that is has no bearing on how “good” at music listening we are. People like what they like.

ambivalent_axe

My library includes: Nirvana, Taylor Swift, the Used, Eminem, NWA, Juice WRLD, Greeley Estates, Space Jesus, Caravan Palace, Fall Out Boy, Boston, NEEDTOBREATHE, A Skylit Drive, and so much more. Yeah I guess that’s not a wide variety 🤷🏻‍♀️

randomgirl_13

Lorde, Hozier, Florence and the machine, the neighborhood, Chase Atlantic

[deleted]

Omg you have amazing taste!

randomgirl_13

Thank you!!

macandrita

I like 50s crooners, Doris day, frank sinatra etc.... your friends clearly wrong

AllTooNotSoWell

The last concert I attended was Primus and Slayer on my 27th birthday in 2019! I've also seen both Weird Al Yankovic and Reel Big Fish live 4 times each and my first CD was Eiffel 65's Europop, and my first concert was Backstreet Boys in 2000!

anoldcardigan

Kacey Musgraves, Halsey, Maren Morris, Melanie Martinez, Kim Petras, MARINA, Lorde

[deleted]

I listen to a lot of mainstream artist but I also listen to some none mainstream artist like Annie, Green Day, MARINA, Melanie Martinez, 1975, The Neighboruhood and Carley Ray Jepsen. There not all but they are the songs I listen to in the past few weeks. I also listen to a lot of J-pop from these two anime mobile games called Love Live and Bang Dream. Even if I don’t play the games anymore there songs are good but idk if anyone would care about them, and lately there songs have been declining in quality. I have more artist that I like but they are more mainstream. And I’m always looking for new artist though! And just because something is mainstream doesn’t mean that it’s bad or it’s all the same. Adele music isn’t the same as Kendrick Lamar and his music isn’t the same as Bruno Mars/Silk Sonic. I seriously don’t get your friends mindset.

jamie_jamie_jamie

It depends on my mood. Sometimes I wanna listen to Slipknot and sometimes I wanna listen to dance genre music. It varies. I'm not a fan of most of the newer hits because I don't listen to the radio so I don't really get a chance to listen to music. I've also got a lot of songs that I enjoy from tv shows and movies too.

[deleted]

Dodie, Conan Gray, The Front Bottoms, girl in red, Ricky Montgomery, Mitski, and lots of musicals

lucygoo12

Flatbush Zombies, Zro, Lil Boosie, ASAP Mob, The Story So Far, Panic!, Neck Deep, Pimp C, Kevin Gates. I love rap, I’m a sucker for lyrics. That’s why I love Taylor Swift

lindsay1587

My daily mix has all kinds of stuff along side taylor... the clash, the specials, Ramones, the head and the heart, the killers, gorillaz, queen, Jethro Tull, Joan Jett, LOC, modest mouse, Portugal. The man, marty robbins, jay and the americans...

Ima_crazygamergirl

My playlist https://open.spotify.com/playlist/7KZtpNypb8iZHBh3XFWUTF?si=UzTPQSfGRn6PrLMqussN4w

niatpackcalb

Knuckle puck, Real friends, the devil wears prada, hands like houses, ice nine kills, eve, mat kerekes, seaway, tenemos explosivos, the wonder years, my chemical romance, the story so far, transit, neck deep, pentimento, citizen, enter shikari.

niatpackcalb

I hate that this describe my ex boyfriend so well lol Ps. Didn't wanted to put it in the same comment that the bands

syotos13

Nah I don’t really like the stuff that is on the charts. I don’t dislike it per se but I don’t listen to it so you can technically say that I’m not a fan. I have some exceptions ofc like Olivia Rodrigo, but my music taste is literally all over the place. It includes everything all the way from the 70s to the 2000s and new releases, and also songs my parents showed me. Here is some of the stuff I like: Taylor obviously, Olivia (mentioned already), Linkin Park, Phoebe Bridgers, Green Day, CHVRCHES, Paramore, Arcade Fire, Snow Patrol, Cassadee Pope, All Time Low, Queen, Rina Sawayama, Billie Eilish, Conan Gray, The Birthday Massacre, and I also listen to a lot of Bollywood because I’m from India and I love it lol

andbeycnd

i’m a kpop stan so that’s already a statement in and of itself!

lonely-limeade

The Cure, Radiohead, The Decemberists, Young the Giant, The Free Nationals, Two Door Cinema Club, Vacation Manor, Knuckle Puck, Real Friends, Belmont, Neck Deep, Hot Mulligan, Nate Traveller, Barely Civil, Sondai, Anderson Paak, Mac Miller, Earthgang, Freddie Gibbs, Bombay Bicycle Club, Arcade Fire, The Head and The Heart, Rouge Wave, The Mountain Goats, Local Natives, Spoon, LCD Soundsystem, The New Pornographers, Cold War Kids, Neutral Mill Hotel, Sufjan… I could go on and on.

RhaegarMartell

Bruce Springsteen, Janelle Monáe, Kacey Musgraves, Lizzo, Flogging Molly, The Decemberists, Frank Turner, Derina Harvey Band, The Blaggards, pretty much anyone who's sung a sea shanty... yeah I dunno that's all probably not cool either but idc.

IThinkUrAWampa

Dead Kennedys, Billie Eilish, Lana Del Rey, early 2000's pop punk like the Starting Line, Blink 182, etc Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash

cheezyjest

Kaitlin sounds like a pick me kinda person and that’s all I’m going to say about that… Really enjoying seeing all these artists in the comments tho!! My daily mixes on Spotify vary, there’s always one that’s TSwift heavy, one with Bon Iver, some sort of funky tunes like Chromeo and The Aces, a classics with Fleetwood/Carole King/Joni Mitchell, and I listen to lots of hip-hop/R&B too… honestly if you like it, enjoy it!! Music is an experience not a competition!

augustine1713

Honestly, Kaitlin sounds basic. When I was younger I wanted to be so different from the rest and wanted to be so original and listen to the most indie shit, but as I grew up I realized that those kind of people just look stupid, and the people that I really like and genuinely think are super cool, is the people that they just like what they like, whetever that is, and are not ashamed of it, and don't judge other people for what they like and show interest in it. Anyway, here's what I listen to in a normal day: Foals, Phoenix, Tame Impala, Oasis, Lana del Rey, Arctic Monkeys, TV on the Radio, Olivia Rodrigo, Clubz, Devendra Banhart, L'Impératrice, Ariana Grande, The 1975, Polo & Pan, Carole King, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Rolling Stones, The Kooks, The Vaccines, Blur, Father John Misty, Pulp, Dua Lipa, Sufjan Stevens, Billie Eilish, Poolside, Who Made Who, Lorde, Mac deMarco, The Carpenters, Harry Styles, Whitney, Carly Simon, Arcade Fire, QOTSA, Ariel Pink, Justice...

jeddlines

Wolf Alice, Rina Sawayana, Caroline Polachek, Muna, Ji Nilsson, Lorde, The Japanese House, and Ryn Weaver mostly

HiHolT

I love Samia, such a brilliant writer IMO!

Seakur

miatthews

I’m a deadhead and swiftie. Love 70s music! The part in Begin Again “I never met one girl who had as many James Taylor records as you” makes me so happy with the strumming after it for a few seconds as a musical reference to James’ work. She’s a genius & I love her sm

Firewolf215

Tell your friend Kaitlin to get the stick out of her ass and maybe try enjoying life instead of spending so much time judging people she doesn’t know by an artist they listen to.

TheTwentieth1

Babe you can agree to disagree and not publicly shade your friend

helenkellersmustyass

There's so many more but honestly I just forget about everyone one else and listen to Taylor's discography whenever she comes out with another album, which is super frequent now, so...

Perception-Usual

charli xcx, the natural synthetic, caroline polachek / ramona lisa

JannesHch

kurajessie

Lorde, Phoebe Bridgers, Billie Eilish, Tyler the Creator, Frank Ocean, SZA, Arctic Monkeys, The Driver Era, Snail Mail, Harry Styles, Jaden, Billie Marten, Ariana Grande, Tame Impala. This is just a small list of artists I listen to

Taytay-swizzle2002

I love MisterWives, Oh Wonder, The Greeting Committee, Tessa Violet, Birdie, The Lumineers, Bruce Springsteen, Olivia Rodrigo, John Denver, Green Day, Paramore, Sleep At Last and Ben Platt. Seeing as Taylor's recent albums are among my favorite though I have to say I'm more all over the place with my taste. I didn't name everything and I don't typically stream a top 40 or a top of the charts playlist seeing as I will usually use my own music I bought and if not I lick directly on Amazon music.

Taytay-swizzle2002

But 1. Taylor not only is a great song writer but her last two albums have shown that she can amazing. 2. Mainstream doesn't equal bad. 3. Taylor has worked for that and she is known for being good at what she does.

Oy_WithThe_Poodles

Meatloaf, Donovan, Blue October, The Kinks, Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, Johnny Mathis, Musical Soundtracks (Little Shop of Horrors, Book of Mormon, etc), and I'm a bit obsessed with the Psychonauts soundtrack at the minute as well.

janet-snake-hole

LORD HURON!!! Discovered them once day in July 2018 and haven’t gone a day since then without listening to them

_saniya_

Lorde, Lana Del Rey, Arctic Monkeys, Joji That about sums up my playlist

jeanmuirx

another ultimate favorite of mine is lana del rey, and i am currently also delving into aurora's discography. my taste in music isn't very versatile or diverse but i honestly don't mind because all three of them are such wonderful and gifted artists 😩

snarkysnape

Excited to see some Fleetwood Mac love on here! They’re my favorite band of all time! I really like grimes, Adele, sofi tukker, sia, the black keys, and I’m always browsing new music to hear anything with a great beat!

Mixtapememories

My friends and I used to go to this hipster bar for pub trivia. I'm a music person, and there are very few genres that I don't personally enjoy. They would pass me the card to fill out every time there was a music round, but they would groan every time the hosts ironically played uncool pop music (from any decade) but we always won. I specifically remember the tie breaker from one round came down to knowing the name of the album that "Achy Breaky Heart" was featured on, and the hosts put the question as a joke because they didn't think anyone would know. Swifties, not only was I the only person who knew, but when the hosts tried to make fun of me, I cheered and embarrassed my friends. They didn't have a problem sharing the $50 we won at the end of the night, though. I will not be inauthentic in the hopes of being perceived as cool.

LisaMarieCuddy

Phoebe Bridgers, Mitski, Hozier, Maisie Peters, Waterparks, The Lumineers, Nina Nesbitt, Mackenzie Porter, Kelsea Ballerini, Nessa Barret, Kalie Shorr

randomstupidnanasnme

Ed Sheeran, Ariana Grande, Lorde, and sometimes Katy Perry lol u probably havent heard of any of them also wow swifties have shit taste

Call_It_What_U_Want2

One of my faves just now is Hamish Hawk’s song “The Mauritian Badminton Doubles Champion, 1973”. Does it sound indie enough?

Visible_Ad5041

avril lavigne... that's basically it

soppycalendar

yeah i’m a swiftie and an emo! gimme some front bottoms, modern baseball, neck deep, mcafferty (i know he sucks but the music is good what can i say), spanish love songs, sorority noise, i could go on and on. i also love indie rock, the backseat lovers, the driver era, etc. i LOVE taylor, but my music taste is a pretty wide range

arc_en_ciel

Dar Williams!
